Modin is really great! The new owners are awesome and I had such a fun summer. The facilities are really good, the staff are from all over the world and were very caring, and there are so many fun activities each and every day. It was nice to feel like the administration actually cared about their jobs and about the campers and staff. This is the most fun place in the world and there is a reason so many people return year after year to Modin.

This camp has a superlative facility and broad range of activities. To its credit, many families send their kids back year after year and lifelong friendships have been made here.--They will take any counselors they can get in the era of Covid, experienced or not...and if your kid is not a traditional socially conservative super straight rule follower, they will end their summer with low self esteem , an internalized sense of shame, confusion at how what was supposed to be a fun summer became a passive aggressive punitive wrestle with arrogant administrators, a condescending social worker that poses as everyone's friend and cliques of spoiled kids that traffic in gossip. Its all fun and games on the outside --Its dark and badly run on the inside --For many many kids its just fine. But don't go near the place if you or your family thinks out of the box. Lots goes well there--for example we heard they handled Covid well. But buyer beware,your kid could also be badly scarred by them

This place is the absolute worst. As a former staff member, I was treated like scum of the earth, and was ultimately accused of something I didn't have any knowledge about and fired immediately. They would rather place blame on someone than take accountability. Sad.

This summer my boys will attend their 8th Modin Camp, a testament to how much they absolutely love it! - Having the freedom to grow, explore, challenge oneself (in a safe environment!), while developing lifelong friendships is the hugest gift!
I am so grateful to Camp Modin’s entire team for the experiences and memories my kids have created both on and off the campsite! Right now, the countdown to June 27 is ON!

While this is a beautiful camp with top notch facilities and many wonderful staff and counselors, please enter with the knowledge that your daughter must fit the stereotype of the perfect jewish american princess with bags full of designer clothes, makeup, etc. to fit in here or their lives will be miserable. And most of the mothers fit the mold of over the top conspicuous consumption, with some showing up from visiting day with heels and jewelry. Howard and Lisa will love you if you're a hedge fund or private equity type but will not give you the time of day otherwise. We did not think that the values instilled here were particularly Jewish, and shabbat was more of an occasion to get made up. My daughter was bullied to the point of having to bring her home, and LOVES her current camp. Most of us are in the %1 - %3, but we want our kids to be in a down to earth camp. Just some information to ponder. I'm sure there must be nice families and kids, they are just not in the girl bunks.

camp modin is the most amazing place in the world i have made all my bestest friends ever there and all year i count down until it starts again and once you go you never want to leaave even though you are forced to you always want to stay their. my first year i wanted to stay for both sessions but i could only stay for one because i had to come back home but my next year i stayed the whole time there is this thing called mo and din and it is color war and it is the funnest thing ever. so ya dont sass me on this camp cause if u fight me on how good it is i would win its amazing totally recomened 10 outta 10. if u wanna have the best summer ever come here!

Camp Modin has taught me the most meaningful life lessons. Don't listen to anyone who says otherwise, I spent 8 years at this amazing place and I would do anything to relive my time there. If you are even a half decent person the people here will be kind, sweet, and loving. My camp friends are my best friends, and I've never loved a group of 50 people more in my life. I miss camp every day. Apes 2012 thank you.

I wish I could write a good review of Camp Modin. I should begin by saying that the camp is not all bad. However, the girls in my age group were the most intolerable people I've ever been forced to live with. Yes, the campers are cliquey; that is nothing new. However, these girls were downright CRUEL to me for the four years I attempted to endure them. I know that I might have had a better experience at Camp Modin had I been treated the way I deserved.

Modin has been a second home to me since the day I got there. The girls and boys alike are my brothers and sisters for life. The counselors in my bunk love what they are doing and through out the year I know I can call them when I need advise. Most of the counselors are alumni, and about 40% of them return to watch my bunk and I grow. The activities are amazing and the instructors respond to the goals I have. As I am not surrounded with people of the Jewish faith at home, it is a great feeling to know that the people around me all have common beliefs. Modin helps me to express my Jewish identity. There is no possible way for me to explain all the gains of my Modin experience in 1000 characters. But I'd just like to say I love it with all my heart.

My daughter lost too much weight at this camp over the summer and the counselors let it fly by them without concern. There were limited activites, and no instruction. Kids sit in their cabins and do nothing all day. The older girls are inappropriate with the boys, and let it be known to the younger children. Howie is ignorant and refuses to listen to complaints. The food is terrible and minimal. There are animals that ransack through the cabins, and there is no alumni, obviously anyone who went their learned from their experiences. Never again.

I rated Camp Modin as I did for many different reasons. The staff is amazing, and really cares. The facilities are beautiful. The activities are run very well and are so much fun. The camp is all kosher, we have friday and saturday shabbat services, and we hold services for Tisha B'av and havdalah. Modin offers Bar/Bat Mitzvah lessons and tutoring. Aside from all the amazing things about Modin listed above, the real reason that I come back every year is for the bonds that i share with my bunkmates. I am so lucky to be able to live with these amazing girls for two months each year. Camp Modin is most definitely the best thing that has ever happened to me. Haven 2 2009!

This was the worst summer camp I ever attended. The kids were mean and the activities were awful. For example, they had races at the beginning of the summer in the woods and they told me to slow down because I could get hurt. Then we were supposed to have horseback riding and they cancelled it with no reason. To announce the start of color wars (the date is always a suprise) they had the entire camp line up under the guise of a suprise trip to an amusement park. You can imagine the entire camp's disappointment when it turned out to be a trick and instead of going to an amusement park we had color wars. There's a Jewish fast day in the middle of the summer, rather then have food available immediately after the fast for those campers fasting they made those campers wait the extra hour for dinner for the entire camp.
DO NOT GO TO THIS CAMP.

i love this camp i wish it turned into a boarding school so i can be there all year! i dont know what could i have done without this camp! its the best i had a lot of fun, made millions of friends and i lost weight with all the great activities they had to offer!! i sooooooo cant wait for next year, since camp is my life, and i count down all the days til' camp because im "camp sick" instead of home sick!!!lol!! but overall i love this camp and 2 anyone that says this camp is bad they are screwed up!! this camp is my life and no one can take it away from me! i cant wait til next year soooooo exited, all of the people are nice there and if you go there you will have a great time

Camp Modin was the one of the best summer experiences. I attended this camp for six summers and my time there has proven to be the most beneficial. I made friends for life with the campers and counselors while enjoying a myriad of activities. From waterskiing, to rock climbing, to arts and crafts, to soccer and lacrosse, Camp Modin has everything to offer. You also get to go on great field trips. Not only do you make friends forever, but everyone's lasting connection helps make future connections for future friends.

I went here 2 years and i liked it the first year but the second year everyone was mean to me and i was really homesick. I remember how everyone liked the yankees and i liked the red sox, whenever i would wear a red sox hat they would take it off and stomp all over it. it was kind of snoby but the facilites were nice

Camp Modin is the worst camp that anyone I know has ever endured. I spent the 2 worst summers of my life at this place. At this camp I lost 15 pounds (not a good thing), the counselors didn't even care that I was homesick, and sick. The campers are rude and obnoxious, and all they do is sit in the bunk and put on makeup. I do like to do sports, and this camp just did not offer them. Howie is a mean man with nothing better to do but to find out ways to take all your money.

04917 is not my 2nd home but my 1st! I don't know what i would do without it. when i came 2 camp my first year i didnt know wat 2 expect.this will be my 4th year bak. i can not imagen a summer without modin!! cant wait till summer! haven 1 2008 and apes 2011!! always and forever

I don't ever think i have ever been somewhere where i have been soo comfortable and felt actually better than at home sometimes. It is the most amazing place with everything you could ask for. Watersports, every sport ever, swimming, water trampoline, rock climbing and zip line, great shape bunks, great traditions, practices Judaism and the best things new and LONG LASTING STRONG friends. Nothing could be better than to spend my summers at Camp Modin. You all are the best. Please come to Modin.

I love Camp Modin sooo much!! It is the best camp I have ever been to!!! The conslers are nice, the factile is nice, everything is wonderfull!! It is a Jewish camp. On Friday nights there are services, and on Sat. morning there are services. But over all Camp Modin is a really great place!!

Umm this is for the person under me. Obvousy YOU never went! why wouldnt u want to spend time with your bunk in the morning? if u dont want the counselors to act like kids then go to summer school! that sounds like your kind of camp

Counselors act like kids, which maybe good for some people, not for others... kids form cliques and are open to new comers... group activities in the morning= AWFUL!! in the afternoon, no one is at the activities that you want to do, so you can't do them... I literally spent the whole summer playing tennis, which was where everyone chilled when they were too lazy to do something (which was like... all the time)

i came all the way from California not knowing ANYBODY!! In one day i felt right at home. I've made some of my best friends at Modin. I'm going to keep coming back as long as i can...Modin is the best place EVER!!!! I love Modin!!!!
