Jem and Keith hired worse and worse staff each year. This year they had staff offer alcohol to kids, and racist staff and staff that wasn’t sensitive to kids who were gay or bisexual. The staff also allowed bullying and watched it. Not a safe environment for my kid.

I worked as a counselor at Camp Laurel in 2013 and had a great experience. As with any job, there was much to get use to living and working in a new environment. The campers come from a very affluent background, which was something I had to adjust to. The leadership was a great help in providing solutions to cope with this and were always there to lend a helping hand with any issues that arose. I received feedback from my Campus Leaders daily, which was very helpful after a long and stressful day. I always felt taken care of and valued from my immediate supervisors to the upper administration. There was a strong sense of community amongst the whole entire camp and the relationships I formed with both staff and campers are ones that I will never forget. I must say it was a difficult goodbye and I hope that I have the chance to return next summer.

I sent two of my children to Camp Laurel and the experience exceeded our expectations in EVERY way! They had a wonderful, safe and well rounded summer, the staff was remarkably responsive, the facility was beautiful and clean and the individualized attention was excellent! I enthusiastically recommend Camp Laurel!!

Camp Laurel in Maine changed my daughter's life. Last summer was my daughter's 2nd year there. SHe started camp at the age of 9. She was a shy girl that had some separation anxiety. THe staff at Camp Laurel helped her blossom into a confident young woman. The facilities are incredible. The staff knew my child well and helped her excel in various sports. THe director of the camp takes an interest in each child and knows everybody. If there is an issue it is addressed immediately. Her second summer there was as wonderful as the first. I cannot recommend Camp Laurel highly enough.

I signed up to work for camp laurel this summer (2012) as a gymnastics coach. I was promised and told certain things that were not true when I arrived there. The cabins/ facilities were not nearly as nice as I was told. My time off was not what I was promised. I was very concerned to see that the return rate of staff was about 20% so basically NO ONE returns to camp after working for this terrible place. NOT a good sign. So every year almost the entire staff is brand new and unknowledgeable (not a good sign for campers.) I was actually told be the head of water sports how nervous he was about some of the new staff operating the boats (water skiing/ wakeboarding/ sailing) because almost all of them were new to the sport. Ex: a sailing instructor who's only experience sailing was during orientation the week before campers arrived. (I was in a cabin with this girl this is true) The food is bad, they tell us to lie to campers, they tell us to lie to parents. Its BAD dont send your kid here

I have worked at Camp Laurel for three summers now and I must say this camp is absolutely amazing. I was astonished at the over all family feeling that is extended even to the counselors. They say there is a magic about Camp Laurel and they are certainly right. I have never loved a place so much in my life. I honestly could not imagine any other camp in the world is able to compare. Even with its large size, the intimate camp setting is definitely still in tact. The programs are ran without a flaw and cabin life is amazing. The one and only regret I have about Camp Laurel is that I did not attend camp here as a child.

Laurel is amazing! The facilities and staff are top notch. The counselor to camper ratio is extremely high so you won't ever get lost in the shuffle. The activities can sometimes become repetitive but you always have an opportunity to try everything you would like to try. Overall this camp is amazing with a very qualified and caring staff.

This camp isn't as good as you'd expect it to be. I actually didn't like it. It was way to long as the kids were very snobby and rude. The consolers were very bossy and they yelled at me all the time. I didn't have much freedom, and I got really bored. I don't care about bugs that much, but there were so many misquotes that I got bitten everywhere! I got sick a lot too, and they made me stay overnight for 3 days one time, which was horrible. I would not recommend this camp, it's not fun at all, and I am definitely not going back!!

I go to Camp Vega which is across the lake from Vega. The camp is very nice and if you want to go to a co-ed camp i recommend it. I personally like getting away from all the boy drama during the summer and you don't need to worry about anyone judging you. You just wake up put on green short and a white shirt and your ready to go. No one wears makeup on a daily basis or straitens there hair. It's all just being who you want to be!

this camp is SO bad. i hate it. all the people in my cabin made fun of me and in the middle of the night took all of my cloths that i brought to camp and put the all around the floor and they would put toothpaste and shampoo on my bed. they are so mean. also, one night i was reading my book and this one girl took it rom me and ripped about 50 pages out at once. do you really want to send your child to a place like this? also when one of my fellow campers pushed me into the mud and i started crying, three counslors walking by laughed at me. THIS PLACE DOES NOT HAVE NICE PEOPLE. DO NOT SEND YOU KID THERE!

Camp is like my second home everyday i go online at www.camplaurel.com and check how many more days minutes hours and seconds until camp. I can honestly say I hate the girls i go to school with and i love the girls i go to camp with. Ya a lot of us can be counted as spoiled brats but it isn't like i have this and i have this i live here and there it is like lets play tennis and dance run around camp in our bathing suits and look like retards. Like one night my cabin made a giant water balloon no joke GIANT and dropped it on the floor by accident and it was the funniest thing ever. I have the best memories there and trust me you will regret not going to camp laurel! my sister is 8 and she say how much i had and she is going this summer! I hope to see you this summer!!!

OMG THIS CAMP IS AMAZING!!!! A FEW YEARS AGO I WENT TO THIS CAMP IN SWITZERLAND... NOOO JOKE!! IT STANK! THE NEXT SUMMER I CHOSE TO GO TO LAUREL!!! IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN!! I MADE SO MANY AMAZING FRIENDS AND THE SAD THING IS ONLY SOME OF THEM LIVE IN NY SO I AM ALWAYS ASKING MY PARENTS " WHEN R WE GONNA GO TO FLORIDA???". ON THE LAST DAY I WAS CRYING SOOOOOOOOO MUCH THAT I LIKE PUKED! AGAIN NOO JOKE! THERE R SO MANY FUN THINGS TO DO @ CAMP!!! I LOVE THE DIRECTORS THEY R SOOO NICE! GEM HAS THE CUTEST DAUGHTERS EVER!! AW ANABELLE AND MADILINE!!!! SO ADORABLEY!!! I WAS IN THE LARKS AND IT WAS MY FIRST YEAR! I HAD SO MANY GOOD COUNSELERS AND THEY REALLY CARED IF U R SAD THEY SIT ON UR BED AND THEY LIKE HUG U TO DEATH! LOL! THEY ALWAYS MADE ME FEEL BETTER! This camp sucks the counselors are complete idiots, and nobody has a clue on what the hell is going on. The director thinks he is top notch but he is not. Just creating stupid nicknames on the spot, if you want to send your child here think twice, and try to get as many conections to go to this camp to have a great summer

Laurel is like my second home away from home. As we love to say.. we live these 10 months for 2.. and I cant wait to go back to that amazing place. From campfires to activities to just chilling with friends and councilors. I could not ask for a better way to spend my summer. The people you meet there will be some of the most incredible people in the world. The councilors are amazing too. I can not wait to go back this summer for my 5th year.

this camp could not be better.. i used to go to tripp lake and hated it now i am the happiest camper at laurel! who ever does not go to this camp is definitly missing out on a huge part of life. The councelers are great i couldnt ask for a better summer

okay, this website is kinda bad because camp laurel was the best co-ed camp in the world and the 2nd best sleepaway camp, soooo yeah. i go there and it couldnt be better. This camp was the most amazing experience of my life and it is the BEST CAMPPPPPP EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Camp laurel is amazing. I love absolutely everything about it...the facilities the scenery the staff the campers...even the food. I simply love the place. i simply cannot say enough good things about the place! if you care considering attending camp laurel...GOOOO!!! It is a m a z i n g a m a z i n g!!!!

I went to camp laurel for one yr. and liked it for the most part, i did not return because i didnt have the greatest experience. Now i go to camp vega and i love it so much, it is possibly the best camp in the world.

I was an employee at Camp Laurel. After one week, I discovered the staff to be completely irresponsible. The overall image of the camp is just that, an image. And the kids really buy into it. The staff are absolutely miserable and feel as they will be fired any second for disciplining unruly children. I would never send my own child to Camp Laure.

this is possibly the worst camp ever. The only thing about it that i liked during my summer there was Echo Lake. the activities were terrible and the food and counslers were also terrible. Now i go to camp vega and couldnt be happier.

this is a GREAT camp. it is beautiful. it is a co-ed camp, in yet its not like the other pennsylvania ones where all the girls care about what they look like. its a special camp. its beautiful on echo lake (along with camp vega, if you're looking for an all girls camp look at that rating!)laurel is a GREAT consideration really a beautiful amazing facility!

Camp Laurel is a great camp. I enjoyed my four years there. HOWEVER, be warned if you are considering going there, that there are many spoiled, rich kids there that are very selfish and ignorant. Don't be surprised if you are in a cabin with some of them. It is hard to ignore them, but just try to. Some of them are downright mean.
Staff is wonderful, facilities are wonderful. I loved Laurel.

Deserves to be recognized as one of the top camps in New England. Travel from mtl to bos water and theme parks the staff are great and everyone knows each other. The best part is you can try so many activities and still have free time with your friends

What a rip! It was supposed to be a premeir sports camp with top of the line instruction, but low and behold it wasn't. There was hardly any instruction. The counselors let the kids get out of hand too much. The special programs were lame as well. The facilities were great, but the program was mediocre. It is also extremely expensive. Not a good bet.
