the yikes have yeeted the bikes and are running amok. as other campers have noted: they dont care about the kids, its all about how much they can make and how much can they avoid spending out.

this camp is one of the most amazing experiences ive ever had in my life. i have just returned today from my third year and i could not and still cannot stop crying over how much i miss camp. i am already counting down the days till next summer. this camp has provided me with the best social and musical experiences i have ever had and i absolutely cannot wait to go back. please send your child here, you will NOT regret it

All that glitters is not gold...while it looks beautiful in pictures and when you get there....underneath it all, it is just owners wanting your money and reminding you of their "long history"...so long that the first song the kids learn is the "potty flush" song as the toilets require three flushes...and the "out of order" signs don't go up on the toilets til the parents leave. Daily chores include "plunging" of toilets (not kidding). The front desk people regularly lie. Kids are expected to know everything. This is (maybe) a great place if you have been here before / know people (it is incestuous) but otherwise it is like going to a family reunion where you and your family are NOT part of the family. Expect you and your kid to be shamed if you ask any questions / have concerns. My 13 year old literally signed herself out for good after the first week. The check was cashed - did not even get her canteen money back - attutide was - don't let the door hit her on the way out...

This camp balances music and non-musical fun. Some of the campers are outstanding musicians and will make a career of it; others are less talented, but still enjoy music. The location is very nice, and the facilities variable (one big dorm is brand new; others have permanently clogged plumbing). I felt that the younger counselors are generally very personable and helpful, with some exceptions. The instructors are variable in personality - some curmudgeonly, others warm and fuzzy. It's hard (and wrong) to generalize too much, but the bottomline is that many, many kids are excited to attend year-after-year, mine among them. I sent my 12 yr old and 15 yr old kids 2 years ago - they both enjoyed it very much, but the older one had trouble breaking in to established friend groups (shy to begin with). The younger one is now there for the 3rd year in a row. (Note: my numerical ratings are not exaggerated in either direction.)

I felt my daughters music went backwards after attending this camp. As a younger camper I felt she was lost in the shuffle!!! She also became ill at camp and did not get proper treatment for her asthma!! Nursing staff is horrible and the front desk could care less about my child. I really feel this camp is about the almighty $$$ will never send her there EVER again!!!

NEMC is a fine music camp--- not the highest quality and cookie cutter in its approach to music, but the kids seem to have fun. Not much attention to individual musicianship.

I went as a teen and I am sending my daughter for her first year. This is the best quality musical and social development program in my opinion, I loved every year!

This camp has mediocre music-making. The grounds are beautiful, but the performing groups rely on the help of the faculty to make it through concerts. The conductors of the major ensembles are either inadequate and do not provide a positive and engaging experience to the students.

Staff is awesome!the facilities are great in a gorgeous setting, clean cabins and bathrooms..the activities overall are well balance and there is something for everybody , personal attention is great!,you definitely get back what you pay for, Its Outstanding !

I absolutely loved NEMC and I'm so glad that I'm going back first session! The classes are always so much fun, just because the faculty is so nice, as well as extremely knowledgeable. The counselors are just outstanding, for all the work they put in to make sure campers are happy and having fun. And of course, it's a great place to meet friends, whether they're inside the cabin or in your classes. I met so many amazing people that were skilled, friendly, and hilarious. Whether we were talking in the cabin, rehearsing in band, orchestra, or choir, or running around on the rec fields, every experience was a worthwhile. At NEMC, campers go back for the people, the music, and the beauty of it all.

This was my first year (I stayed full) at NEMC and I LOVED IT soo much! The counselors were so nice and the faculty did an excellent job. And all the other campers were friendly. Everything about the camp is amazing - the scenery, the performing groups, the people...the music.

This is such an amazing camp, I went for the first time this year and absolutely loved it. It's gorgeous and the people are great and the classes are perfect for the summer. I learned a lot musically and plan to come back here for years to come. Anyone who doesn't think so is very very wrong because this is definitely the best camp ever.

eh... it's okay. i would only go there if you are prepared for the most annoying cabin mates in the world. not all of them were bad, and i already had experience with those kinds of people, but still. also, be prepared for how mature they think that they are. oh my god! she got a training bra!!! she totally needed it! *not*

This is the best camp EVER!!! Highly recomend it. You will make some of the best friends of your life. WADE CABIN ROCKS!! We only got to sail twice though.... :( NEMC IS THE BEST!!!!

This was my first year at NEMC. I had the best summer ever! My cello teacher was absolutley amazing, and I will never forget the friends I made there. I will be back next year!

I love NEMC!!!! I can't imagine spending my summer anywhere else. The music program is great (even if you are in concert groups like i was last year you learn a lot and have a ton of fun) and the people are some of the coolest I've ever met! Wade cabin should have definately won inspection last July, but thats' beside the point. NEMC is awesome!

This was the best camp i've ever been to! The music is wonderfull, and the music teachers are some of the best in the country! There is a great ballence between Music and recreation. I made some of my best friends there, and i'm going back for a second year!
