Click to report rating    8/18/18   5     5     5     5     5   Such a wonderful and special place. My 3 children have gone the past few years and each time they come home so full of joy. I am so happy I have the opportunity for my children to go to RVR. RID: 52193

3/1/18   5     5     5     5     5   RVR is the best camp my family has ever experienced. They are super intentional about everything they do and you really get the sense that they care about your kids. We love the way things are growing there too. They have huge winter camps and school programs and the summer camp is booming. We have a few more years we're able to go. Once our kids get to old for camp we'll have withdrawals for sure:)! Click to report rating    7/15/16   2     2     2     2     2   The website stated they would push God on my child. The staff in fact tried to "save" my child, thankfully, without success. It was intended to be a camp with Christian values not a cult. My daughter was fearful of the threatening nature in which she was to accept Jesus into her heart. My daughter came home grateful to never have to return. If you want your child to spend a week with individuals who believe "spare the rod, spoil the child" this is the camp for you! Fanatics with a financial scheme, as with most Christians. Girls are not permitted to speak to anything with a penis, the terms gay and lesbian are prohibited, and the assumption is all the adolescents are corrupt with impure thoughts. Ideology is archaic. My partner and I would never send our children there again. RID: 49774
Click to report rating    4/22/16   5     5     5     5     5   Seriously the best camp I've ever experienced. I can't wait to go back this summer. The counselors are awesome and super caring. Paintball was my favorite activity and the zip line was cool too. I'll be back! RID: 49550
Click to report rating    8/13/13   4     3     4     3     3   Camp store requires payment by credit card by only refunds via paypal - which I find ridiculous. The camp web site says they don't force religion on the kids but offer it - my child was deeply offended by the tactics and style and frequency of the religious activities RID: 45655
Click to report rating    5/7/13   5     4     5     5     5   My daughter has gone to the camp for the past two summers. It is the highlight of her summer. It is fun, it is wholesome, and the gospel is shared both in word and action. We were reluctant to let our child sleep away from home at a camp with staff that we did not know, but it is very safe and her child was protected physically, emotionally, and she grew emotionally and spiritually in one week. It is a special place. RID: 44425

Click to report rating    5/3/08   5     5     4     5     3   Very expensive. We all have to clean up our cabins at the end of the week. I love the food, the rodeo, and the workers. I wish there was more to do at free time. RID: 22929
Click to report rating    4/15/08   5     4     4     5     4   Counselors are the best. Strong Christians, also cool by kids' standards. Not too many strict rules, but lots of safety and caring for the campers. Good food. Downtown part of camp is fun for kids. Good pool. Nice to ride horses. Glad to have worship time overlooking gorgeous mountain side and woods. Children loved it. Tee-pees are fun. Sang fun songs at meal time. Low stress and low maintenance. Focus on the Lord and fun while doing it. Will return again. Not all campers from churched homes so there is a variety of campers and backgrounds. Good experience for the kids. Would (and have) recommend again!!! RID: 22307
Click to report rating    1/22/08   3     2     3     2     4   The staff was a bit too upbeat for my taste, to the point where it came off as superfake and annoying. The horses were also way overworked, and most of the horse staff had NO solid knowledge of all things horses which was annoying. But aside from that, it was a pretty good camp. Lots of weird activities to choose from and lots of people. Very religious. Wish there was more to do during free time, though. RID: 19278
