Click to report rating    7/23/22   5     5     5     5     5   I have sent all three of my children to Camp Takodah for many years . They are all very different and all have loved camp and grown so much from the experience . I found Camp Takodah just on the internet and chose it because I liked the message about the values of the camp. I really feel like I lucked out with that internet search. Camp Takodah is amazing and we have referred many friend’s children who also have attended and had very positive experiences . I highly recommend this camp to anyone ! RID: 53584

7/22/18   5     5     5     5     5   We have had nothing but exceptional experiences since being introduced to Camp Takodah. Our daughter attended most of her childhood years, became an LIT, a counselor and has worked summers through college. Our son just returned from Session 1 and Session 2 for his 4th year. He wants to attend 3 full sessions next year and we're already registered. Every summer my children have returned they are more confident, more resilient, and independent. They spend their whole time at camp unplugged, physically active and developing lifelong skills. Camp Takodah is a safe place where children build lifelong relationships and connect with nature. Highly recommend! Truly blessed we have been able to offer this opportunity to our children. RID: 52038

7/10/18   5     5     5     5     5   My son had the best experience at Takodah. He tried so many new things, made great friends and says he grew as a person. The Leaders were fantastic and you honestly can't beat the value. We highly recommend this camp! RID: 51977

8/19/17   5     4     5     5     5   The people make this camp. Me daughter attended the camp at ages 10 and 11 and then took a couple of years off, she went back this summer as a 13-year-old and was very nervous and feeling like a bit of an outsider. She was welcomed in with open arms. The counselors were incredible, super supporting, and said all the right things. The letters I received were so great. She tried new things, new challenges and felt confident enough to do so. This is definitely not a fancy camp, but all of the people here are real and accepting of everyone, and there is nothing more important than that. RID: 51258

8/18/17   5     5     5     5     5   This was our daughter's second year at Camp Takodah. We have found the staff to be uniformly warm and helpful, and our daughter can't wait to go back for year three...to see old friends and to make new ones. RID: 51257

6/11/15   5     5     5     5     5   Camp Takodah is an amazing place for kids. It gives them the chance to make their best friends and participate in fun activities of their choosing. Recent facility updates mean Takodah is more beautiful than ever while still focusing on the traditional values of friendliness and personal growth. There's a reason so many of us return for 10+ summers! RID: 48737

5/22/15   5     5     5     5     5   I went to Camp Takodah for 15 years both as a camper and as a leader. It changed my life. RID: 48685
Click to report rating    5/22/15   5     5     5     5     5   Takodah is the best camp out there by far! Memories to last a life time every summer. RID: 48684
Click to report rating    5/22/15   5     5     5     5     5   I love camp takodah with all my heart. I am a past staff member and camper. This will be my 1st summer not coming back to camp due to the real world. I will miss it but it will always be in my heart. I recommend Takodah as it has taught me a lot of important things and it's just a great place to escape to for the summer! RID: 48683

Click to report rating    5/22/15   5     5     5     5     5   I have been going to this camp for 8 years and I can honestly say that it has changed who I am as a person for the better. I have made some of the best friends of my life at takodah and I have also learned many valuable life lessons. The camp itself is beautiful, it's on a lake with forests surrounding it, it really is a picturesque setting. The staff are fantastic, they always are supportive of their campers and look out for their best interests, along with that, they also make each individual camper know that they are welcome and among friends. The motto of takodah is friendly to all and the staff really support that. The living spaces are set up wonderfully as well, they give a very basic living space that feels very rustic but also allows for a sense of community to form between cabin mates. I would recommend Camp Takodah to any adventurous camper who is looking to make memories that will last them their lives RID: 48680

Click to report rating    5/22/15   5     3     5     5     5   After going to a couple of summer camps, Takodah was definitely the best. If I had to improve Camp Takodah in anyway, I would say that it could improve some of its facilities, but it does a great job with campers one on one and in larger groups. RID: 48677
Click to report rating    5/22/15   5     4     5     5     5   This will be my 11th year at Takodah and my sister's 6th, and we both absolutely love it!! RID: 48676
Click to report rating    6/22/14   5     4     5     5     5   This camp is like my 2nd home. The are very nice and have been very supportive. I always lose weight there because of all the excercise. Camp Takodah also has great food. Camp Takodah will always make you feel welcome and at home. ;) RID: 47434

Click to report rating    3/24/13   5     5     5     5     5   What an amazing home away from home for our son - we absolutely love this place! Friendly warm staff and kids, great rustic facilities, all of the things you would want from an old-fashioned camp - terrific! RID: 44073
Click to report rating    3/24/13   5     4     5     5     5   My sister and I both attended camp for over 10 summers. In many ways we grew up at camp. More importantly, we were allowed to challenge ourselves in a fun, welcoming, safe, and positive environment. As a woman, I can point to at least 50 ways that camp helped me to become a more confident, loving, compassionate, creative, and motivated leader. I loved camp and cherish the memories and friendships I made during my time there. RID: 44072
Click to report rating    3/24/13   5     5     5     5     5   I started going to camp when I was 10 and continue to spend at least a month each summer until I graduated from college. Now my two sons attend camp and we as a family attend the family camp that is offered at the end of the summer. We consider Takodah our 2nd home. We look forward to returning each summer. What has impressed me the most is how Takodah has modified its programming over the years to meet the needs of youth without losing the core values of the camp. It truly is a special place. RID: 44071
Click to report rating    2/6/13   5     5     5     5     5   I went to Camp Takodah as a child, just like my parents. Now my child is a 3rd generation Takodian. She loves it there. The staff is awesome and lives up to the camp motto Friendly to All. Takodah is what you make of it, if you arrive with a negative attitude, and are not willing to try new things you might as well stay home. RID: 43606
Click to report rating    9/12/12   3     1     1     2     1   I went to this camp in 1995 and personally hated it. Where to begin: The tennis courts and basketball courts have so many cracks in the pavement it looks like they're from 1900 and haven't been paved since then. Also, the tennis instructor looked like he had never played tennis in his life, as he could barely hit the ball. The lake is not that nice (dirty and not scenic) and they don't even have waterskiing and tubing as activities. But we all had to have our swim lesson in the morning when it was freezing! The counselors were somewhat friendly, but they enjoyed terrorizing us at night by making noise outside our cabin and then saying it was ghosts or intruders. Also, the kids at the camp weren't that friendly. I was in a cabin with a bunch of 13 year olds from towns like Metheun and Dorchestor, and they all acted like bullies and punks. The camp also had this rule that nobody was allowed to bring snacks from home, so my cookies were confiscated on the 1st day. AWFUL CAMP! RID: 42664
Click to report rating    3/30/12   5     5     5     5     5   I've been going to this camp for 13 years now. There are 2 things that have helped to mold me as a person growing up. The first one is my blood. The second one is this camp. What this camp does for you as an individual is beyond words. RID: 40668

7/14/11   1     2     1     1     1   This camp was simply not good. It was not fun. The counselors forced us to go in a dirty lake. They ignored us and took the warm showers from the PAYING campers. There is never enough food and they forced us to play dodgball in the mud outside while it was raining. The shower was broken and they forced us to ride in metal boats during a thunderstorm. They were dumb, not fair, and mean to all of the campers. I felt like i was attending a juvenile reform camp. Click to report rating    1/31/11   5     5     5     5     5   I attended Camp Takodah as a a kid, and spend 7 memorable summers there, Now my daughter is a camper there. The staff is great, as is the camp itself. I recommend Camp Takodah to everyone. RID: 34981
Click to report rating    5/11/09   4     5     5     5     5   I LOVE CT:) THIS IS MY 3RD YEAR MINUS MINI CAMP.SOME OF THE STAFF IS ODD, BUT IT IS STILL MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE CAMP. IVE TOLD 2 OF MY FRIENDS TO COME, AND THEY BOTH ARE. EVEN IF YOUR NOT IN A COBIN WITH YOUR FRIENDS, ITS STILL REALLY EASY TO MAKE NEW ONES. SSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAA RID: 29723
Click to report rating    8/16/08   5     5     5     5     5   I've been going to Camp Takodah since I was 10 and i've never stopped, i'm now 20 and have been a leader there for 3 years. It's a home away from home. A place where you can get away and be yourself. The crazier you are at takodah the more people like you, contrary to the real world. Takodians don't forget to light your candles on christmas eve...Right Now!!! RID: 25743
Click to report rating    4/12/07   5     4     5     5     5   ive been going to this place since i was like, 8 or something and i can't stop. its better than home and everyone is so nice. when i say everyone, i MEAN everyone. its like, the perfect world kinda. the only bad thing about it is now cell phones, ipods, make-up, TVs, air conditioning...you may think you need these things to servive, but believe me, you dont. it's co-ed, but you arn't there the same time as the opposite gender. plus, i always lose weight there from walking so much even though i eat like a pig!! i love CT (camp takodah <333) RID: 9649
Click to report rating    2/10/07   4     3     5     4     5   Great camp, i went to california last year and it rocked and this year i'm going to hawaii. This camp works hard at getting good staff and good programs that kids like. I personally out grew the overnight camp and moved on to adventure. RID: 7692
