The campers were really clique-y and the staff had no intention of impeding upon that tradition for the sake of the girls who had been outcast.

Kamp Kohut is an AMAZING experience that will stay with our children for a lifetime. We have sent our three oldest children to Kamp Kohut and we have greatly valued the happy memories that they have shared (hoping our youngest will soon will have Kohut memories of her own!). They fondly remember laughter with bunkmates, sailing on Lake Thompson, and trips around the beautiful state of Maine.
Every part of Kamp Kohut was a positive life-forming event for our children. They met bunkmates and counselors from around the world, developed life-long friendships, and accomplished goals large and small. Among the great activities were fantastic sports and crafts instruction, GREAT FOOD, the College Days competitions, and group activities that fostered positive relationships with their peers.

Kamp Kohut is a wonderful place. My daughter has loved Kohut from the first day and considers Kamp her summer home. She considers her "campies" her best friends and her bunk has developed a special bond that is truly remarkable. The directors, Lisa Trippler and Steve Green, are incredibly warm and enthusiastic about their work with our kids and transfer that energy and passion to their summer staff. Kohut provides the perfect for setting for kids to be kids- to learn from trying new things, share successes and live by a beautiful Maine lake with a great group of kids. I cannot say enough about Kohut. It is simply a wonderful place.

This past summer my daughter attended Kohut for her first sleepaway camp. We could not have asked for a better experience. She loved her bunkmates and made some wonderful friends with delightful girls from across the country and overseas. She adored her counselors, who gently guided and nurtured her as she explored all kinds of new activities and opportunities. She went on trips around Maine and was exposed to creative events and rich traditions. Even now in winter we are hearing lovely camp stories. We were incredibly happy with her whole experience and my daughter can't wait to return.

This camp has offered everything that our son needs from a camp. The counselors are great, the staff is awesome and the facilities are fantastic. The summer camp experience has truly helped our son develop mentally and socially. The range of activities is great and the day trips are great. Our son's experience is better with each summer as he has developed a core group of friends that he gets to see every summer. He has asked us many times if he could attend both summer sessions! We highly recommend Kamp Kohut to anyone/everyone who wants to experience the ultimate camp experience!!!!

My daughter who is Canadian has been going to this camp for the last 2 years. It has done miracles to her self esteem. Kamp Kohut is her second family. She looks forward every year in going back. My youngest one, who is 5 can't wait to be able to go to camp. She has asked Santa to send her to camp next summer. This camp is amazing! Clean, safe, great role models, huge choice of activities, day trips, and special events. Staff is creative. They know how to captivate the kids! My daughter has been counting the days left to go to camp. I must say I'm also looking forward in seeing, Lisa, Dan, Steve, Jenny and the counselors.I always get teary when I leave her but, I know she's in good hands, she'll have the time of her life and I'll be able to read about her day every night before I go to bed.Parents get a letter every single night informing us about what went on at camp with loads of pictures. What a great way to stay in touch with our kids! I believe in Kamp Kohut!

Kamp Kohut offers an invaluable summer camp experience for children ages 8 - 15. My daughter, who is in third grade, attended as a camper for the first time this past summer and absolutely loved it. As a parent, I was thrilled to see the skills she learned, the confidence she developed and the friends she had made. She came home feeling on top of the world and excited to try things she had not done before (such as team sports!). Her counselors were wonderful and we always felt she was safe, yet able to have so many fun adventures. We were thrilled with our experience and can't wait for her to return next summer.

Kohut isn't a bad place. It just isn't worth the money that you have to spend. The facilities are good and up to date. The activities are pretty standard for a camp, but they get boring after the first week and then it becomes hard to enjoy camp anymore. The good is your basic cafeteria food. It isn't anything fancy or healthy, but it is food. The field trips are also pretty boring. The options are fun at first, but they never change and you get bored with them pretty quickly. The best part of the field trips are the ice cream at the end. The staff honestly is more focused on their own socia cliques and what they are doing on their time off than they are at being counselors. Like I said, the camp isn't bad, but isn't nearly of enough to be worth the money that they charge.

Kohut was the best thing to ever happen to me. Im to old now and have not gone for a couple of summers but my best friends in the world were made at kohut and my best memories are from kohut. What kohut lacks in flash it makes up for in experiences and friendship. Im a 17 year old boy and i can honestly say once again that i am the person I am today because of Kohut. I plan to be back as a councilor in a couple of years but until them i have all my old buddies from the village and all the great memories.

WORST CAMP EVER!!!! I CAME THINKING IT WOULD BE GREAT AND I HAD THE WORST 25 DAYS OF MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE! I FELT LIKE I WAS GOING TO DIE! THE STAFF IS INCREDIBLY MEAN, THE CAMP DIRECTORS ARE THE WORSE, AND THE WHOLE PLACE SMELLS LIKE POOP. ALSO, IT IS SO OVERPROTECTIVE THAT IN PRESCHOOL I HAD MORE FREEDOM! DO NOT GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE! EVER!

Kohut was a horrible experience for my children. My children constantly wrote in their letters that they weren't having any fun and didn't like it there. Kohut was a complete waste of money and my children's summer.

OK THIS PLACE IS BASICALLY MA LIFE!!!! Kohut is my home and I love my friends so much. The lake and facilities are beautiful and they have so many activities that you can choose yourself. If your new, at least one person will talk to you and give you hugs and welcome you. The bunks are very clean for a camp, and except for the oldest building, nothing is rustic. The girls are my sisters and you bond with them so much and get really attached. Also the camp is pretty small- that way everybody knows everybody so its tight knit. The food is great. You learn a lot in activities, and I wish i could live their all year because once you come home- you get really campsick. Anyway, GO HERE KK FOREVAAAA<3

I'm shocked that everyone has said how fantastic this camp is. You watch the video, and you think, "Wow, this is going to be amazing!" But the very first day I got there, the girls in my bunk were so cliquey and immature. I felt like I was thrown with a bunch of ten-year-old snobs. The facilities are great, and the food is great, but the counselors don't help, and Lisa is waaay too conservative for me. I also would've liked to have less sports-related activities (such as the much-dreaded Olympics)and less obnoxious girls in my bunk. Maybe there are nicer people in other bunks, but it definitely did not work out for me.

Okay, first of all, I didn't see a gnat the whole time I was there, nobody is weird and EVERYONE is nice, the showers are clean, and it smells REALLY GOOD!!! The weather wasn't rainy except for sometimes and when it was raining we had rainy day activities which were really fun, but we didn't have it when it was lightning out, just for our safety. If you are looking for a camp where your kids will feel like it is their second home , and that changes your kid in a REALLY good way (manners, niceness, politeness, outdoorsiness, and sportiness etc., etc., etc.,) then this is DEFINETLY the camp for them.

This camp was fun but it was INFESTED with gnats that swarmed around you in clumps - it was GROSS. Also, the weather was rainy and disgusting the entire time this year. The people are okay, most immature and cannot actually form and sustain an intellectual thought. The facilities were okay except for toilets clogged daily and smelled like a rat's upchuck. The counselors were okay as well, but most of them didn't excel in their areas except for a talented few; there were also some counselors who were mean/had bad language in front of the little kids. There are cliques there, just to let you know. The food was actually good for a camp, and the camp directors are LOVELY - I don't care what people say about Lisa she is a compassionate, wonderful human being who deserves all the respect in the world (love you too, Lisa). Well that's about it: If you're a conservative, easy-going person who makes friends easily try this camp out.

KAMP KOHUT IS PRETTY MUCH MAH LIFE. I WOULD LOVE TO GO IN THE INDOOR AND OUT THE OUTDOOR AGAIN. My four summers at kamp kohut have truly changed my life and me as a person. Even after my final year, my life continues to change because of what I have learned during my summers on lake thompson. I have met my best friends there and I continue to talk to and see them. I cannot rave enough about this place. If I could go back I would in the blink of an eye. The counselors, staff, people, facilities, trips and everything is just so amazing and f I could go back and change anything about my experience, I wouldn't. Kamp Kohut is truly a magical place and always my home away from home. If you want to guarentee the best summers ever, GO TO KOHUT!! PS: friends, I love you so muchh.
