Having had a son graduate at the Prescott, AZ campus of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in May 2024, I enrolled my 13 year old son in their Take Flight day camp at the Prescott Campus. They get the kids flying immediately and hand them the controls from day 1 so that they can experience flying. Both the school and summer camp has been exceptional! The student/instructors are highly skilled, safety first, and very giving of their time and knowledge to the kids coming behind them. This exemplifies Embry Riddle’s culture, one I am proud that my son got the ability to attend. Our head instructor, Antoine de Lajudie, was thorough, patient, and second to none as were the CFI’s assigned to the summer program. The quality of these students made my son’s experience a once in a lifetime memory that he will never forget. Expensive? Yes, but worth every cent for someone who might have an interest in pursuing becoming a pilot. If I could give this summer program a hundred stars I would!

Son attended the July 2023 Prescott campus flight camp. It was a terrible experience for him. He was supposed to get 4.5 hours in a 172 and .5 in a multi engine sim that was eligible to be logged. He ended up with 2.0 hours! That was it. classes were cancelled, delayed, or rushed through although they did have a come to embry riddle for college event were each kid was given two pieces of pizza for dinner. Really, teenagers getting just two pieces of pizza? Besides being kept in the dorms not allowed out without a chaperone anywhere they went, it borders on ridiculous since they ask if your teen will be driving them selves to campus to attend. I emailed the school asking for compensation for the missed hours and did not get a response. For the $2700 the school costs go and use that money to get you kid real time in an airplane. As a former Riddle graduate and major airline captain, DO NOT SEND you child to this camp. It is a complete waste of time and money.

I loved Flight Exploration. I got 8 hours flying time! I made a bunch of new friends! We had a blast at ERAU!
