It was in HCC's LIT program that I truly started to question my faith. On an LIT excursion outside of the camp, our councelors told us to tell everyone we were from Camp Huron - to hide that we were a Christian camp. After questioning why we should do this, I was embarassed by the entire councelling staff in front of the whole camp. I came from a difficult home life & had trouble in social settings; this was supposed to be my haven away from my horrible home-life. Jerry, the director at the time treated me like a bad kid for the way I behaved, & made me to feel un-Christian because of my trouble, instead of opening her arms with Christ's love. It was here that I was first introduced to drugs, alcohol, and sex. It is indeed a beautiful location on this earth, & perhaps the staff has gained more insight into child psychology since then, but I always think of HCC as a very negative time in my life, & the beginning of the end in my faith in god.

One of the best camps your child will ever attend. The staff are well trained and care about making your child's camp experience meaningful. My children live for the weeks they attend Huron Church Camp.

i chose this camp because I love learning about my culture and camp Huron Church is definately a great camp option if you want to learn about your culture while having the summer of your life. Each year it get's better and better! Priests come into the cabins to do s prayer every friday night. I love it! I definately reccommend it!
