My mom and her sister went here, and now me and my sister go to Wohelo every summer. I couldn't imagine a summer without camp. It is extremely easy to make friends as everyone is so open and kind. The counselors become your big sisters, and your cabin mates become family. All of the counselors are extremely helpful and they help you immerse yourself in new experiences and oppurtunities. I always cry when I leave, and as soon as I'm home I'm counting down the days until I return back there.

Attended this summer camp for around 3 years. I had a great time there, and made a lot of good memories. The scenery was beautiful and I loved the activities. However, the counselors and head staff were rather inadequate and could not help girls who struggled with making friends or homesickness. There were multiple times during my time there when girls, including myself, talked to each other going to the infirmary because they missed their parents and wanted to call them. I would only suggest going if your child is highly independent away from adults.

My daughter had 4 fantastic summers at wohelo. Wohelo stands out with its spectacular location on Sebago, friendly staff, opportuniy to improve sailings skills, impressive group of campers who get along well.

All I can say is: I WISH I CAN GO BACK! I attended Wohelo for 3 years and absolutely LOVED it! All the activities and people were so nice, and I really connected with nature there. I highly recommend it to any girl who wants a summer to make friends and have fun (be warned, the mosquitos there are super loud, bring bug spray) It broke my heart to stop attending as my summer is occupied with new things, and I may be too old for Little Wohelo sadly, I dream of going back there. Even though you not so far from a road, it seems as if you were dropped into the wilderness. All the staff I've ever met there were awesome and really fun to be around. My one problem, many girls are cliquey, as I experienced during my time there. But if you find a reliable and open group of girls, I swear your summer will be excellent!

Let's me first say, I will never forget my 4 summers at Wohelo. I made tremendous friends and a lifelong love of nature. In general, it is a fantastic experience to be able to spend a summer without electricity, swimming, sailing, camping and doing outdoors activities everyday. Now, I will get to the point of why I have sought to share my story. It was not until my young adulthood that I realized that I experienced indubitable racial discrimination and bullying on the part of the owners of the camp. I was one of 3 people of color at the entire camp--as a child I did not notice this. As a 14 year old, I was relentlessly bullied and harassed by Quincy and never had a clue as to why. I was accused of bullying other girls, when I knew that this had not happened. I look back on my experience with mixed feelings, because it was a beautiful place, while the owners of the camp were adult bullies. If you value diversity and safety, this is definitely not a place to send your child.

Wohelo is by far the most spectacular place to spend a summer as a young girl. I was lucky enough to spend 8 summers on Sebago Lake and those memories are so vivid, everlasting and special. The friendships made and the skills learned over the course of 7 weeks (and summers following) are the greatest gifts a young girl could ever ask for. I learned so much from my time at Wohelo including independence, strenth and empowerment. The skills I learned when I was a teenager have proven imperative and critical in how I have developed as an adult. I look forward to sending my daughter to wohelo (4th generation) when she is a bit older. It is something that nothing else compares to. It is pure bliss and I miss it ever summer but am left with many memories, photos and my longest standing friendships. Thank you Wohelo for helping mold me into the woman I am today.

This camp is amazing! From the fact that the counselors are old campers to the close connection between Big Camp and Little Camp, this camp has it all! It is more traditional compared to other camps, using no electricity except in the Kitchen and Nurse's and no electronics except flashlights, electric toothbrushes, and cameras! In all, anyone who is on the fence should go one hundred percent!!!!

My siblings, my children and I all were fortunate enough to spend many summers at Camp Wohelo and its brother camp, Camp Timanous. I always told my Dad that the best thing that he ever did was to send me to Wohelo. Lifelong friendships and life lessons are the most valuable things that Wohelo provides. A wonderful all summer experience for your child in the most beautiful setting.

I've never had a bad day at camp. The people are amazing, in fact they are the main reason I return, the camp its self is on a gorgeous piece of property, and the activities are really fun. I've made friends that will last a lifetime, and memories that will last just as long. It's so worth it to go, and if you don't you're really missing out :)

My Dad's family ran an all-girls traditional sleep-away camp in NH (where he met my Mom), so needless to say, they were extremely picky about where to send me. I recently asked them why they chose Wohelo out of the dozens of camps we toured, and my Mom said she couldn't explain it; she just knew it was right. Little Wo has opportunities for lifelong skills, memories and friendships around every corner.

There is no other camp that will beat the lifelong value of Wohelo and it's brother camp, Timanous. The owners are hands-on, the facilities superb and the counselors are top notch. Where else can you learn silversmithing, sailing, swimming, weaving, camp under the stars, learn to live without elcectroincs and be yourself in surroundings which best the most exquisite resorts of the world. My children and I enjoyed every second there and learned many life lessons in this safe, beautiful spot on Sebago Lake. I highly recommend Family Camp as a preview if you are considering camp. Fun for the whole family. The alumnae network is alive and well. Simply stated...this is the best of the best and worth every penny. Every alum will tell you that they want to go back...even 50 years later.

Love every last thing about my experience at Wohelo. Best friends in the world were made there. Don't know about monetary value: my parents did that part, and I am forever grateful to them for it!! It is truly one of the most gorgeous settings on earth.

I loved my years at Wohelo as a camper and a counselor. It is an amazing place. I feel fortunate to have known such amazing women who went there. I am counting the years until my daughter can go!

The life lessons I learned at Wohelo have stayed with me throughout my life. I have warm, lasting friendships with so many women. Between my mother, myself and my daughters we have totaled 31 years at Wo then you can add on cousins and aunt. All of us have stayed in contact with Wo friends. A warm loving healthy place to spend a summer.

I had a great time at wohelo! I made so many good friends, the counselors were great, and it's such a beautiful area! Sebago Lake is gorgeous! There are so many activities including sailing, swimming, canoeing, nature, weaving, silver smithing and more. This camp offers an amazing learning experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a camp to go to!

As an adult, I have come to realize that Wohelo was more important than secondary school or college in giving me self-confidence, leadership skills, and a knowledge of who I am. Thank you Wohelo!

Sending my daughter to Wohelo was as important a choice as choosing the right school. Wohelo emphasizes chore character developement in a friendly non competitve atmoshere. More than 75% returning staff and over 50% returning campers. Located on a mile and a half of shore front on Sebago Lake - Wohelo is the most beautiful camp in Maine!

Definitely sending daughters here, and sons to Timanous. Last summer was 7 years ago. Still wish I was there, and still singing the songs! Uniforms make the girls leave their materialism at home, and no electricity in cabins brings a greater appreciation for nature & surroundings.

My daughters have been at Little Wohelo for two years, and I couldn't be happier. The setting is beautiful and the atmosphere is girls-can-do-it-all, which I love. "Wo-girls" are just what campers should be: able, kind, and enthusiastic. Kids can be so adult these days; Wohelo seems to be long to a simpler time.

THE BEST CAMP EVER! There is so much to do here. Either at Little Wo or Sebago Wo. There are more activities at Sebago Wo but they both are tons of fun.

I'm going to Wohelo this year for my first time. All i've heard is good things about it. The only bad things are that there is a uniform and it's really expense. Other than that, GO WOHELO!!
