Click to report rating    8/1/16   5     5     5     5     5   I have gone to Texlake for seven years, and am training to become staff. I love Texlake, and would defiantly recommend it to any Girl Scout! RID: 49860
Click to report rating    1/7/14   4     5     5     4     5   Great camp for any girl. However, some of the newer cabins are made of cedar, which is a problem when it comes to allergies. My daughter has attended this camp for 8 years and loved it every time! Good staff and facilities, fantastic activities. RID: 46507
Click to report rating    4/25/12   3     2     3     3     3   I went to this camp a while ago and it honestly was not my favorite. Food wasn't bad and staff were ok. The cabins however, were gross! It wasn't the worst camp and I had fun while I was there, but looking back on it I would not go again. I fell off of a horse that just started cantering out of nowhere, and the counselors didn't bother to tell my parents. Texlake had a nice pool, and a few ok cabins, with fans, but for the most part ours was just a shack. We had only an hour of free time each day but we had to go with our bunk for the rest. They gave out awards like horse safety at the end, and everyone but me and a friend (even though she did fine on the horse) got one. Even though I got on a horse again that same day. Texlake was an OK camp for first time campers, but wasn't the best for me RID: 40858

Click to report rating    7/2/10   4     5     5     4     5   i have been 2 times and i am about to go in a week! i love this camp! most of the staff are nice (exept a few:Wednesday,EDJ, and Nacho) nice ones include Cameil,Pebbles and Tex. i have always been in flora or fauna. i love it there! most of the time they pay attention to you except when its midnight and you cant go to sleep because of your insomnia and wednesday doesnt care.over all you should go and you will have a great time! Click to report rating    10/9/07   4     5     5     4     5   Some cabins with A/C; new dining hall overlooking lake; some new cabins. "Treehouse" cabins offer comfortable bunks with 2 clip-on fans on each bunk. Restrooms nice. Kayaking in a safe "cove" and a nice pool. Hardtop for volleyball or basketball. Horses. Huge Lake Travis wraps around penninsula. Very nice. RID: 16044
Click to report rating    4/17/07   5     4     4     5     5   I have been going to this camp since the second grade and I really love it. Most of the counselors are cool and do weird stuff thats really funny. Its easy to find nice people but you can't spend all your time crying to go home. They should also have different programs where you can choose what you do each morning instead of doing the same thing each week. RID: 9807
Click to report rating    3/9/07   4     4     3     4     4   I did not find it that bad.I thought the activities might have been kind of lame but I still liked camp. The thing is if you are homesick you are going to have a conpletly different experence then if you are not. If you are homesick the whole time you are so focesed on going home you are not trying to have fun or make great friends. RID: 8469
