Click to report rating    6/2/16   1     1     1     1     1   Kuei Luck is not concerned about their students but rather the money that they bring. They present a professional facade and market their programs as the best but they are just out for the money. The kids are not treated well as staff do not know how to handle them and often resort to unnecessary punishment and ridicule. With owners, teachers, and workers yelling at students and threatening punishment to control elementary school students, the environment is disgusting. I have witnessed this as an employee. Many of the student volunteers unlike the paid employees, who work at these programs are treated like crap, with owner Kevin Kung exercising power over everything and verbally threatening termination in order for him to have his way. Do not be fooled by his facade of professionalism, as this man turns into a monster behind closed doors, yelling and harassing employees and students who he has no regard for. Beware of this company, as many complaints have been filed against them. RID: 49635

8/13/13   5     4     5     5     5   This is my first year sending my 3 kids to KUEI LUCK CAMP.I travel an hour to and from E.Islip every morning. My 3 kids love to go to camp everyday compare to other camp they went previously. There is AM academics which my kids needed. The teachers and TA's are fantastic that I was able to see how my 3 kids were doing academically everyday.Their improvement was so amazing Now my daughter who wasn't reading to her aged-expectation,loves to read every books she can get her hands on.At times the course work is little challenging however when they do have a problem,TA's are always available to them to explain. My kids adore all the TA's.In the afternoon, kids have the variety of activity available to them.My 2 boys favorite ,chiness yo-yo and my daughter's ,modern dance, which they come home every night to put on a great show for our family. We found the teachers and TA's to be kind and very supportive. My kids will go back to camp next year because they learned and had fun-filled summer.  8/6/13   5     5     5     4     5   Love that the children are placed according to their math/reading level based on entrance exams. Classes are taught by teachers & activities are taught by TAs'. The mid-sized buses are new, air conditioned, has cool pop music, and a TA that will stand outside of the bus to escort them on/off the bus. You receive your assigned p/u and drop off time via mail, & boy is the bus punctual...a plus since I have to rush to work. The owners attend summer camp workshops/seminars for fresh ideas. They introduce new activities every year. This year they added Tae Kwon Do [via bus 5-10 mins away], knitting, jewelry design, science [hands on experiments], scrapbooking, ballroom dancing. Existing classes: Robotics, guitar, violin, beading [beads to make 3d animals/shapes], fencing, kung fu, chinese yo-yo [lots of fun], fashion design, sports, cartooning, chinese dance, hip hop, drama, cooking, chess, modern dance, origami. 2nd year and the kids are making lasting friendships. Click to report rating    9/22/12   5     4     5     5     5   Absolute best summer camp - loved the curriculum, the activities open to my children and the staff especially the camp medic. My son has severe allergies to peanuts and we have not had the best camp experiences before. Unlike the other summer camps where my son had allergy attacks, the medic took extreme precaution to ensure that my son would be safe. If I ever had any questions, doubts, or worries, I was always able to air my concerns to him and was always reassured by him. My kids and I absolutely love him - we can't wait to come back next summer! RID: 42736
Click to report rating    8/23/12   5     4     5     5     5   Best camp ever! My son lost his glasses and I thought I will never see it again. A day after camp, I got a picture email of items from the lost and found. I was quite impressed!!! My son loved the activities and I was so proud of him on stage. RID: 42478
Click to report rating    8/20/12   5     3     3     4     5   This was my first summer sending my kids to Kuei Luck Summer Camp. The morning there is academics (which my children needed) and the afternoon the children had their choice of activities. My daughter's favorite was cooking and she would come home with recipes that she learned in camp. My other daughter's favorite activity was hip hop. She put on a show for us each evening. At times, the course work was challenging, however when my daughter did not understand something the teacher or one of the TA's would sit one on one with her until she got it.There were some days that my kids complained about the homework, however, no pain no gain. I totally feel my children will be prepared to enter school and have a solid grasp of the expectations of math and reading that the new year will bring. My kids will go back to camp next year because they made friends, laughed, learned and had a fun-filled summer. Any other camp would cost twice as much money. I definitely got my money's worth and more. RID: 42448

Click to report rating    8/16/12   5     4     5     5     5   My son loved to go to camp everyday. Compare to other camps, the variety of afternoon activity available to my son was amazing. He took fencing and kung fu. I felt that the staff, teachers and TA's, payed attention to my son's needs. He is allergic to many things and the camp took extra effort everyday to make sure he was not eating or near any peanuts. I have been to other camps where they made photo copies of all the books. I especially liked how my son had books and it was books that my older daughter had used in her own public school. I was able to see how he was doing academically everyday because of the scorecard (had daily homework grades). There are times during regular school year when I felt the teacher never graded or checked the homework. However, my son's homework was checked everyday during the summer and he told me how his teacher worked with him to review what he got wrong. He can't wait until next year to go to camp again!      7/23/12   1     3     4     1     1   I hope hope this review prevents even 1 child from being sent there. Most teachers are ok but some yell at kids A LOT. So do the TAs. We're talking about 4-6 yr olds - screaming at them is not acceptable. TAs are also dismissive of the children. This place is run by a bunch of kids (TAs) being "overseen" by a kid (Kevin, seems to be owners son). Complaints are not taken seriously. Blocked from speaking to teacher directly. In some classes, academics = sit there and do worksheets while the "teacher" does who knows what. Fortunately my kid has a teacher who at least tries a little. Group of us will never ever send our kids there again. Many, many other issues but the way they talk to the kids is unacceptable, and the way they handle complaints is ridiculous. The owner (wife) acts like you did something wrong and speaks to you with an attitude, Kevin is clueless and deflects to you as well, father just boards kids on bus and doesn't talk. HORRIBLE "CAMP". DON'T SEND YOUR KIDS THERE. RID: 42044

Click to report rating    7/14/11   1     1     4     2     3   Education programs and activities are nice. I like the class teacher. But they change children's class level without any notice or any test score. Some staffs don't respect parents and they yell at children. And most of the classrooms are not air conditioned. Dropping off children is not a problem but picking up is a big mess. You can not reach the class teacher directory. The director controls everything. If you confront her, you may be yelled by her like me. RID: 36392
