The physical camp is nice, Adirondacks were great, views were beautiful. A lot of the MB counselors were awesome but a few just read word for word from the MB book all week. The directors had very little enthusiasm and seemed like they didn't want to be there. Didn't seem to be as organized as other camps. Troop voted not to go back.

Not sure what the previous rating was reflecting. Our troop had an excellent week and never noticed any problems with the staff. The food was very good with adequate portions. Program areas were very well organized with proficient counselors. The waterfront staff was top notch! The Aquatics Director worked with two of our kids and helped them overcome their fear of the water. They were swimming by the end of the week! The STEM program was very well received. The facility updates were awesome. We loved the new Adirondacks and shelters! As far as Boy Scout camps go, this was a great choice for us and the boys have already said they want to come back. Wonderful facilities. Beautiful area. The Adirondack cabins were great! We had a very difficult time however. Mid way through our week we found out that the current camp director was brought in just 2 weeks prior (not sure why) and there was a LOT of friction between him and the staff. Several of the merit badge councilors left mid week and others were clearly unprepared. As a result we came home with an unusually large amount of incompletes. And I will not be awarding some of Eagle req merit badges as they were basically not taught. Very disappointing and frustrating. Lots of upset parents.

This camp is no where near as good as others. The food is very nasty and the staff has been selfish and unfriendly the hole trip

Food is awful! I have been to several other camps and they are way more worth your time and money. The staff is horrible also. I am never attending this camp again. I am taking my troop somewhere more beneficial and worth their families hard earned money.

my boy was removed from a merit badge without telling the parent/scoutmaster. No reason has been given or offered.

i have been to several other camps throughout the east and i must say that buck toms is by far the best bsa summercamp i have been a part of. They have excelent facilities and a wonderful staff who is always greets you with a warm attitude.
