My daughter went this year and LOVED it. She would rate it all 5's. I gave the facilities a 4 because they could use some updating - but none of the kids seem to care. The riding was great, she definitely grew as a rider, had a WONDERFUL time with the other kids and counsellors, didn't miss home for a second. She'd go live there if she could. Everyone who worked there was really nice and took great care of the kids. Very positive, uplifiting, happy atmosphere. We will return for sure!

My daughter went to this camp and enjoyed her experience overall. Other than the facilities that need updating, the activities and staffs were all good. My only issue with the camp was that they did not notify me at all about my daughter's fall. I only heard about it after we came home and we ended up taking her to the hospital to take X-ray because her back started hurting more next day and she could not tilt her head back. At the end, she was fine, but I did not feel comfortable to send her back again.

This was my first year going to camp and I loved it!!!! When I got there I was immediately welcomed and went to get checked in. The staff were friendly and helpful from the start and all week. I was showed to my cabin and met my councler. All the girls and councler a at camp are super nice. The cabins and facility's are pretty nice and well kept. I went to me evaluation and was put into a group. I found since this was my first time at camp and was riding a unfilmiliar horse I was put in a lower group then I should have been but I was ok. I loved the fact that we could choose our daily activities. Over the week I found that accessing water was a bit harder. And that if you did not speak up to the counclers they would not think you had a problem. Overall my experience was very good and I will definitely be going back next year. I would recommend bring bottled water or sports drinks, to speak up if you had a problem, and to try to do your best during evaluations. The horses were great to.

This was my first year and I loved it! The horses and staff are great. Their was a few minor things though, I suggest bringing packaged water bottles or sports drinks. Also make sure to speak up if you don't like something or are unsure. Other wise it was amazing,I can't wait to go back.

My daughter has gone 3 years in a row and every year has exceeded the previous one in terms of growth and fun for her. There is a feeling of warmth amongst the staff and campers and the smallness of the camp makes this happen easily and quickly. We adore SJ RIDING CAMP and will be back next year!

My Daughter attending this camp for the first time this year. Her experience was very positive and she is really looking forward to going back next year. The counselors were great, the horses were excellent. Her cabin mates all got along well and she is hoping to reunite with them next year. The place is not fancy but I think that fine as the focus is on riding and I'd rather they spend the money on that. A very positive experience

My daughter is just back from a week at SJ Riding Camp & she loved it! We were very pleased with the supportive and friendly staff. Everything seemed to run smoothly. This was my daughter's first time at an overnight camp and her wonderful counselor, Kirsten, made all of us feel confident that she would be fine! The camp is laid-back & geared towards girls who love horses, not the place if you are want non-stop structured activities. My daughter and her friends were happy to ride twice a day, work in the barn grooming the horses, and do the other activities (arts, archery, swimming, boating, etc...) Her riding has really improved in just a week! Other than the riding times, though, the camp isn't too structured, which was perfect after a busy school year. Girls can decide what they want to do the rest of the day. My daughter reported that all the other girls were friendly and they got to know and hang out with friends in other bunks. She can't wait to go back next year!

First the camp is run down with unfriendly and mean staff, (how she described them). She is a quite girl and she was petrified of the staff, it was literally the worst exeperience for her. Very unfriendly staff, the place is mainly run by the older teens, and adults are few and far between. MINIMAL ACTIVITES...my daughter and the few friends she made walked aimlessly around for many hours of the day. No real activities beyond the ridgid and formal riding 1-2 times a day. Also, if your child is not at the advanced stage of ridng the extra activites are not allowed. The staff yells at young campers and the older teens are cliquey and laugh at the new campers, making them feel very uncomfortable. The week she was there was real hot and they never went swimming, as no one swims there. Food was in small quantities and horrible. I had to go back to the camp and drop off bottled water as no drinking fountains and or water available

This is the best camp ever! It was my first time horseback riding AND at a sleep away camp when I first went last year. I left the camp knowing how to canter and jump, and with so many friends. The horses are amazing, and they have gentle ones for beginners but harder ones for more advanced campers. The activities are really cool and I liked trying archery for the first time. Everything is awesome about this camp!!! The only problem is, that the bathrooms could be cleaner. I def. reccomend SJ!!
