This camp was 5 stars from 2007 when my oldest went until 2024 when my youngest was a counselor. The camp was co-ed and encouraged all campers to be the best version of themselves at all times. My kids all still stay in touch with camp friends of both genders. A new owner bought the camp in the summer of 2024. At the end of the summer after everyone left being told, see you next year, the new owners fired the co-directors, one of whom had been there for 22 years and lived in the property. Then they notified all the counselors that the camp was now a Christian, girls only camp. The counselors feel betrayed and the camp legacy of what the original owners desired and built has been thrown out to "protect and encourage girls". If I had a camp aged girl now I would definitely not send her here. None of the counselors are returning for 2025, even the females.

This was our first experience with Camp Woodmont and the staff were good, the activities were great. However, the accommodations were very concerning. When I checked my daughter in her bunk was still dirty from the previous person. Plus, the cabins smelled moldy. While the staff is great they don't seem equipped to handle children that might need extra support with ADHD, and mild behavior re-direction. I would suggest they check cabins and facilities for mold. Mold can cause a host of side effects in children. Everything else was great but the facilities were concerning.

My sorority visited Camp Woodmont for our annual sisterhood retreat and had a great time! The staff was very attentive and welcoming. The food was amazing!! There were also many activities for everyone to enjoy! We really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to the possibility of visiting again next year!

Oh my goodness, I cannot say enough positive things about Camp Woodmont!! My 3 kids are obsessed! This will be their 4th year going. They started going at 6, 8 and 10 and they go for the 2 week sessions. The counselor to camper ratio is awesome. There is such a wide variety of activities for the kids to choose from daily, from sports, crafts, rock climbing, horseback riding, water activities, too many to list. My kids rave about the food and love the cabins. We have no complaints and neither do our kids! It's truly what a summer camp experience should be. No electronics, no air conditioning, no tv, camp fire sing-a-longs, etc. Camp Woodmont reinforces moral values, independence and responsibility. And the amazing pictures they post daily give parents peace of mind that their kids are having a blast! My kids talk all the time of becoming Counselors In Training and then Counselors. Camp Woodmont has become a very positive and significant part of my kids' lives. :)

All four of our kids love Camp Woodmont! We have been sending the oldest there since 2008. The cabins are small and the ratios of leader to camper are great! The kids love getting to know everyone at camp and come home with stories of all the fun they have. They even like the food!! They want to go back year after year and we love the family feel of the camp. We initially chose the camp because our oldest loved horseback riding. Horseback riding at camp is fun and safe. The kids learn all about caring for horses. Ziplining and archery are also very popular with our kids. The kids have never complained, but my husband and I were a little underwhelmed with the size of the lake. Again- the kids want to go back year after year so the lake size hasn't been a problem for them. Your child will get personalized attention from the staff. Also, our daughter has a peanut allergy and we have felt very comfortable leaving her in the hands of the nurse and counselors.

Camp Woodmont is a family run camp that keeps the kids close to the outdoors. My two children have attended for the past 6 years and have enjoyed it every year. The counselors are hand-picked and udergo training by the director. My kids have been able to connect to their counselors which makes their time away from home easier to deal with. There are lot’s of fun outdoor activities and a big lodge that hosts activities when it is raining. The owners truly love what they do and it shows. They are continuing to grow and have made many improvements and additions over the years. They can meet with your family prior to registration to give a tour and discuss any concerns. Give Camp Woodmont a try and you won’t be disappointed.

My daughter has been going here for 7 years and loves it. The first time she went I signed her up for 1 weeks. Before that week was over I get a call saying she wants to stay another week. I think that says it all!!! The staff are the best, very kind and would do anything to help you. While being at camp they learn life skills, and how to be a better person. My daughter has made life friends who she talks to all the time and they always go to camp the same weeks. I cannot say enough about this camp. She comes home and raves about what a good time she had and starts the countdown to next year. The closer it gets the more excited she is. Please consider Camp Woodmont. Your child will thank you and want to go back.

This camp has been my second home for MANY years during the summer months. The staff could not get better and this is my 8th year going. I have some of the best lifelong friends that I have made here and not to mention how nice it is to go unplugged for two weeks without even thinking. I constantly find myself always bring various conversations to "That time at camp" or "Once there was this counselor". I could not ask for a better camp. I have tried others but I never get quite the same experience as what Woodmont gives me. Mrs. Alison has watched me grow up from age 6-14. I am very excited to be a CIT and eventually a counselor. There are very many activities that are extremely fun for all ages and I would recommend this to anyone. I personally am a babysitter and I am always recommending this camp to my clients and friends. I think you will LOVE Woodmont. The food is great as well. As we say "Camping at Woodmont is Fun and its neat, there is plenty to do and good food to eat."

My grandson returned last week from session 1/ week 1 at Camp WM. He spoke to me recently in detail about his experience here and he made it clear to me that he would NOT like to return again. I won't break down everything he told me but the main issue he struggled with was the dirty bathrooms! He said kids often went without showering due to the odor and filth in the wash house. My grandson also complained heavily about the favoritism between staff and campers. He said he felt left out and staff didn't notice, he said he tried to call me more than once but he was not allowed, which truly concerns me! I'm certain I will never take him here again. The only upside was that he enjoyed some of the activities. My family and I are very disappointed. He is also missing his goggles, swim shoes and some hair products.. he was only there for a week.. he should have been monitored better. Again, I do NOT approve.

My child went to Camp Woodmont for 2 sessions in the first session, she was in the right age group in the second she was put with kids that were a year younger than her. The bathrooms were nasty. Some of the staff was nicer than others. They can't control the bullying. My child cried most of the night because she had no friends. There was staff personal relationship which I think was not appropriate. Some of the activities there was an age restriction which only lets the older children sign up. The only think I can say my child enjoyed was the food. She said the cook was super nice and all of her meals were great.

My son has gone to Camp Woodmont the last 3 years and loves it. He feels very at home there and wants to be. CIT in a few more years. His fave activities are the zip line, climbing wall, archery, ping pong and the fun and goofy evening activities they plan. We're vegetarians and I'd love to see more veggie menu options but we always bring some veggie burgers etc and they always accommodate us and prepare them for him when needed.

As a camper myself at camp woodmont there a bunch of flaws and a bunch of things that need to be fixed but i am only going to list 2 of the major flaws. 1. the staff need to treat children more nicely and give more attention to all children . I noticed that specific counselors act more negative to children than other counselors. 2. The facilities such as the bathrooms need to be cleaned daily and closely looked at. The bathrooms are so poor that i suggest that the owners invest more money in the bathrooms and other facilities. This is only my opinion some can be argued with and some cannot.

My kids went this year and had a great time. No camp is perfect but this camp is a good value. Kids get lots of personal attention and feel like part of a family. In just one week my sons came back more mature than before. They also got more exercise in one week than they got all summer!

My children had a wonderful time! We were thrilled with the quality of counselors. It is not perfect but I doubt any camp is. One of the biggest advantages is the small number of campers. It allows kids to interact and get to know each other without being overwhelmed. The purpose should not be the luxuriousness of facilities or activities. The point is give your kids a chance to be independent and responsible. I read so many reviews on this site before I chose a camp and it makes me sad how many parents complain about dirty clothes or fancy cabins. Just give your kids, especially boys, one week a year to get dirty!!

Price was good. Activities seemed varied and typical. We paid extra for horse back riding, and during a week my son only got to ride one time. He was not a big fan of the camp overall. Probably will try something a little nicer next year. He came back fairly healthy and all his stuff in his suitcase. Not a total loss.

I have been attending Camp Woodmont for 4 years, and I can say that every year has been a wonderful experience! The staff are amazing, but I rated it with a four because there have been a few staff members that weren't that great, but I have never seen them again, so I think that they were fired. concerning facilities: I have found that the facilities (excluding the bathrooms) are very nice, for being quite old. The camp is 31 or 32 years old, so nature has taken its toll. However, the bathrooms are functional and nice, but, I do admit, the CITs could do a better job with cleaning. By far, my favorite aspect of the camp are the activities. There is a wide range to choose from, and all provide great fun! Personal attention is also a major moral of camp life. The campers receive all necessary attention; just enough so that they are cared for, but aren't made to feel like everyone is closing them in. For the price to attend, Camp Woodmont is a great value, with memories that will last! :D

I love Camp Woodmont! This year will be my 7th summer attending, I have been going since i was 6. The counselors are so wonderful and nice. Alison and Tyron do a wonderful job running the camp and i love them like family. They have all sorts of activities that are fit for any interests. I've made many friends over the years and continue to talk to them all year. For the short two weeks you spend with each other you have some of the strongest relationships you will ever experience. Camp is a place to get away from the prejudice at school. Somewhere you can go where you know you'll have fun. I look forward to going to camp every year and throughout the school year i often get the feeling of camp sick. Its a wonderful experience every kid should go through. CAMP WOODMONT IS AWESOME!!!

My daughter was give milk and milk products the entire time after we had a 10 minute discussion with medical on her milk allergy. My daughter raised the issue with a counselor and was made to eat the milk products (cheese, ice cream, etc.) anyway. My daughter was miserable the entire stay as a result of being made to eat milk products. She also had various other problems that demonstrated a lack of supervision. She will not be returning.

I love this camp! It's my favorite camp! It was going downhill until Mrs.B arrived. Mrs.B is 80 years old, but doesn't act like it. The camp has gotten new activities like a zip line, slip and slide, and many more! The staff care about the kids now, and the kids I know love it! It got air conditioning. The only bad part was when some boys broke into the snack stand at night, they had to clean the bath house. I was very sad to leave, but I am going for two weeks soon!

My kids love this camp and so do I. the counselors are college age which provides a more mature level of supervision. The facilities are nice, but rustic - not a country club, but well maintained and great for summer camp. My kids rave about the activities - I think camp is as much about relationships and gaining a sense of self sufficiency as it is about the stuff or toys - Woodmont delivers on both fronts - esp. the climbing tower, ropes course and zip line. Personal attention seems to be the thing that makes Woodmont shine. My kids develop great relationships w/ counselors and camp administrators too. When they felt homesick during their first visit, they got cookies and milk and a bunch of TLC. My wife and I shopped around the Mentone, AL - Northwest, GA area and found this to be the best place for cost-benefit. Woodmont seems just right - I wouldn’t call it a bargain - good camps don't come cheap – but Woodmont is well worth the price.

My kids have been going to CampWoodmont for 10 years. The experiences they have gained at this camp will last a lifetime. All three of my children have made life long friends that they have developed relationships with outside of camp. We love the family atmosphere at Camp woodmont. The directors take an active daily hand in running the camp, they oversee and participate in the activities, are visible and well known by all the campers. They truly love what they do. The facilities are well maintained and provide a true camping experience. Meal times are the highlight of the day, where everyone comes together to enjoy a really good meal and make new friends. The staff are all caring and involved with the children, many return summer after summer as counselors and many were even campers at the camp themselves. When we go to camp we feel like we are going to visit family and not just an impersonal corporate camp.

Camp Woodmont is a wonderful camp. This will be by son's 5th and my daughter's 3rd summer there. The staff they hire are really mature and seem to understand the emotional and physical needs of the kids. There is a huge focus on the camp being a place of acceptance and nurturing which is a top priority for me, as a parent. They even bring the kids cookies and milk at bedtime. My son was homesick his first night away, and the director and his counselor did a wonderful job of being supportive and helping him to feel secure and work through it. The directors and staff are also very safety-minded. My kids mention their camp experiences all year long, sometimes almost everyday. We have gotten to know the directors over the years and these are the kind of people that you can trust your precious children with. The facilities are not fancy, but I want my kids to go to camp, not a country club and there are plenty of wonderful and exciting opportunities to grow, learn and have an adventure.

The bunk rooms were very hot in the summer with no air condition. The boys bathroom was so dirty my son didn't want to take a shower the entire week because of grime and bugs. For the price you pay for this camp the bathrooms should be updated and the cabins should at least have air conditioning. We wont be back next year

I've been going to this camp for 7 years, and it used to be alot of fun. But, ever since one of the owners died its been going a little bit downhill. The staff doesn't care about the kids anymore (mainly because they are all dating eachother and drinking over the free weekends). The activities are cheap and lame. Used to be a great camp...

My kids tried this camp; because it was close to Atlanta, but they were very disappointed. I think they need younger staff. The food was very good and the price wasn't too bad.
