This was my daughters first sleep away camp and it exceeded our expectations. She was nervous due to her food allergies but the chef and counselors were super helpful and made sure she had plenty of options for food. She had so much fun dancing, she wants to go back for 2 weeks next time!

It was my daughters first time at a sleep away camp and she absolutely enjoyed it. She met new friends and gained a lot of experience from her instructors. Three adjectives I'd use to describe ADTC are fun, inspiring & educational.

Great experience that focused on building character and self-confidence, rather than just dancing. Three adjectives I'd use to describe ADTC are fun, new experiences, and friendship. This was my daughter's first experience at a sleep away camp. She has high levels of anxiety, especially when away from me. She struggled being away the first night and morning and the director noticed and took extra time with her to help her feel more comfortable. Within an hour of chatting and listening to music with the director, she was feeling so much better and ready to dance. She just needed that connection and the staff was more than happy to help her tackle the anxiety. It was an amazing growing experience for her! We cannot wait for camp this summer!

My daughter absolutely loved every minute of her first time at ADTC Stratton. She really enjoyed all the dance classes, and felt there was a good balance of electives and other activities. She made some good friends in the short week she was there and had only positive things to say about the counselors. And I thought the end of week show was very impressive for the short amount of time. When we picked her up, she said she is definitely going again next summer!

My daughter has attended ADTC for 3 straight years (Illinois and Wisconsin). The amount of social growth this camping experience has provided her is immeasurable. The dancing is always great. I am always so impressed with the Friday Performance! It is amazing what can be done in such a short amount of time. My daughter has gained confidence and lasting friendships. The instruction and choreography is top-notch. Three adjectives I’d use to describe ADTC are social, exciting, and challenging.

My experience as a parent was amazing. I was looking for a dance sleep away camp and came upon ADTC. Read reviews, checked out the facilities and dates and pricing. Decided to give it a try! It was my daughter's first time away from home for more than 3 days - she was there for 2 weeks and cannot wait to go back!! We have no complaints at all! Wonderful experience, wonderful staff!!!"

I would definitely recommend this camp! My daughter learned about styles of dance she had never been exposed to before, the counselors were really supportive, the facilities were great, the food was terrific, and the focus on positive energy and girl power was inspiring!

My daughter attended the Stratton VT Camp this summer and I could instantly tell a difference in my daughter's confidence level during the Friday Night Showcase in front of the parents...her shoulders were back, her posture was upright, and she had a huge grin on her face after each dance. I'm happy to say this new found confidence has continued over the months and she has become a bit of a social butterfly. We couldn't be happier with our decision to send her to American Dance Training Camp and we have already signed her up for next year's camp! Highly Recommend!

Staff isn't attentive 2 children, Shannon makes promises just to get parents 2 enroll their children & then none of the promises at time of camp r met. There r SO MANY EXTRA COSTS! The camp is technically only 5 days. Drop off at 3 on Sunday recital on Friday night & most kids leave on Friday night. Most children come in big groups so meeting new kids is very difficult. If your child isn't an acrobatic dancer or a stand out then they will b ignored & made 2 feel 2nd class by the counselors. Counselors definitely play favorites 2 campers & encourage the clicky environment. There is NO ACTIVITIES AFTER dinner. Kids r left alone after 6 pm. The younger children wonder around & the tweens try 2 act cool & tend to bully and throw dance parties. The younger kids can attend but my child was smart enuf 2 know it was inappropriate to b in the older environment and went to her room and read every night ALONE as her room mate slept with her dance team. No adult ever helped.HORRIBLE

My 13 year old daughter attended this camp in Stratton, VT in July and rest assured, she will never return. When her roommate had a medical emergency and my daughter appealed for help, she got none. The counselors bullied her roommate. The camp has a multi-page document on why cell phone usage is NOT permitted, but counselors had phones in hand, during every minute of every day. The "swimming" activity was in a 4' deep indoor pool in a public facility which my daughter referred to as "sketchy." She lost a lot of weight as she said the food was revolting. The hot dogs bounced and the morning orange juice was fizzy. She appealed to a stranger in the ladies room, during an outing, to text me to get help for her roommate. My daughter is a normal, bright kid. Loves people. Loves camp. It would be fair to say that she had such a negative experience, I will be hard pressed to get her to a sleep away camp again. And the money for extras! Ridiculous!! Stay. Far. Away.

This was my daughter's first year at ADTC and we couldn't have been happier with the whole program. From the informative pre-camp emails to the friendly and awesome counselors to the impressive Friday night show...it is a perfect place for young girls that LOVE to dance!

My daughter loved the camp. I thought it was well run and the counselors were available, friendly and funny but not overbearing. They let the girls enjoy each other's company. She can't wait to go back!

My daughter has loved her years at ADTC, she looks forward to it every summer. As a parent I know she is being well taken care of, the facilities are great, and she is doing what she loves to do most - dance. She has gained amazing friendships and grows each summer to be a better and better dancer. The staff ADTC are patient and caring and Shannon Fouts is AWESOME, super responsive and ready to help with all my emails questions!

I felt ADTC and the staff were very well organized. It was my daughter's first sleepaway camp experience and she loved it! And she is a very fussy teenager! The camp itself has good combinations of dance classes and other activities. Check-in and check-out was smooth and I was very pleased with my daughter's accommodation. Hearing all the great activities she did and learned different dance techniques and styles at camp, I was very happy with her experience at ADTC in Vermont.

My daughter attended 3 sessions at Lake Forest in the past 2 years (& will go for 2 wks in 2014), but I think the overall experience applies to all locations. The dance program is excellent - good variety of styles and levels! Having Tokyo teach a master class during session 3 was a definite highlight of the camp! We always enjoy the show, especially when you consider the girls learn 3-4 dances in less than a week. The variety of activities is great. I like that there are excellent free choices as well as options that do cost some money. Some of the choices are dance-related activities while others are purely recreational. Lake Forest Academy is beautiful and the food is good. READ THE DETAILS ABOUT THE CAMP! If your sole purpose is to dance non-stop in a demanding atmosphere, ADTC is not for you. If you want your daughter to develop as a dancer AND as a caring, self-reliant human while having fun, this is the right place! The counselors & office staff are top-notch!

My daughter was very happy with the camp (8 years old). I thought everything was great. We heard nothing but wonderful reports about the teachers and counselors. ADTC provided a wonderful first overnight camp experience for my daughter and her friends. The girls had an amazing time dancing and bonding with new friends. They all said they want to come back and we were very impressed with how well the show was put together in such a short period of time.

My daughter had a wonderful time at VT ADTC. She was a bit homesick her first week but the staff went all out to make her feel comfortable and help her through it and she loved the second week and the entire experience! Although the dance level was not quite as high as she is used to at her own dance studio, she did learn a lot. Her dad and I went to the dance show at the end of the week and all of the staff and girls did a great job. She will be back this summer and is looking forward to it!

This is a wonderful camp and our daughter absolutely loves it! She made it a point to tell us that Miss Steph went above and beyond to take special care of her and that is greatly appreciated. She will never forget her and suggests I grow and style my hair like Miss Steph's and I just might do that. A heartfelt thank you to Miss Steph and all the other teachers and counselors who made this experience very special this summer for our daughter. We were also very impressed with the choreography and what they are able to do in a week with these dancers. Our daughter will be headed back for her 3rd year this Summer.

My daughter just returned from this camp and though she loved the staff, enjoyed the horseback riding, paintball & kayaking and made new friends, this camp DID NOT give her the challenging dance experience we expected. She had lots of fun but for the $1500 that it cost us we expected to have much more technical and challenging dance instruction but sadly this camp did not deliver. If your daughter is a serious dancer looking for a challenge this is NOT the camp for you.The Squaw valley camp facilities were very disappointing. My daughter chose ballet as her core class but the dance studio consisted of mats taped down to the asphalt in the parking lot....no studio with a barre or mirrors. Not what we paid for :(

My daughter LOVES this Camp! She is now there for her second year. The staff is wonderful and so very talented and taught her so much! The other campers all love to dance so it is "like coming home" for her! The facility is great as well with very good food.

we had a HORRIBLE experience with our 8 year old daughter..if you want your child bullied and dont mind other kids f bombing them, plus most activities canceled, and how about getting hit in the face during dance class by a bully to toughen them up..then send them here. elementary dance..not for experienced dancers..company only cares about your $$ not your child..low rent send away troubled kids camp. we told them all about what happened..they knew about the problems and said they would refund our $$ than changed their mind said "they did the best they could do" and never refunded the $ after all..very low class operation...there are so many great options out there..look around!

We love the attention that the girls get during classes and after from the staff.
The dance classes are of high-quality, the staff is very experienced and caring, the camp site is exquisite, the food is great, the girls are nice and interesting, and the communication among parent-counselor is appropriate.

I really wanted to like this camp and have my daughter attend on an annual basis. Unfortunately, our first experience was so bad that we will never return. The ADTC website stresses 24/7 supervision and zero tolerance for bullying. That was NOT the case. My 10 year old daughter was unsupervised at night after curfew and was continually bullied by a roommate. My daughter told me that each night at 10PM their counselor left her and her four 10 year old roommates alone in a hotel room. The lack of supervision enabled an older camper to run away. My daughter was bullied verbally by a roommate all day which was reported to the counselor and was viewed by the counselor. No action was taken by the counselor or the camp. The bullying escalated to her almost being drowned by the bully because the counselor was not watching the pool as she was lounging in the hot spa. I communicated this experience to the ADTC owner and she informed me that 24/7 supervision doesn't mean "handholding." DO NOT go!

My daughter just returned from a week at the Stratton Vt camp. She has danced for five years and the instruction she received and routines she. Learned was what she was doing three years ago. My daughter was extremely disappointed. In addition, there seemed to be very little supervision on the dorm floors. The kids slept in dorm rooms with a counselor at one end of the floor. Apparently there was high drama in the rooms at night and kids who complained to the counselors were told to handle it themselves. The concept was great, and certainly,there were some talented teens there. Seems like it would be a much better camp for 14-16 tear olds. My daughter definitely won't be returning.

To say the least, my time at ADTC was the best time of my life. The camp counselors were all so kind, and the dance teachers were very kind and helpful. I have met some of the best friends of my entire life at ADTC. The dorms were always clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were clean as long as no one left their stuff lying around. At ADTC, you can participate is many different activities, my favorite being paintball. Everyone can grow as a dancer at ADTC with help from celebrity teachers (I met a Rockette! How epic is that?). ADTC was well worth its price. This will be my third year there. However, constructive criticism is used often, so the lighthearted should not attend this camp. Critiques are done often, so those that argue with the dance teachers are not favored. If you are not a dancer, DON'T GO TO ADTC. ADTC is a DANCE camp, so don't attend if you don't dance or like to dance. On a scale of 1 to 5, the latter being best, I would rate ADTC as a 6. :) happy dancing!

I loved it soo much! I am definatly going there again! my favorite sleepaway camp ever! Next year I am going to go for three weeks instead of two! the bathrooms were clean and you dance a lot and it is great fun!
