I recently went there for the 6th grade camp outdoor program and WOW it was bad. First of all, my school was elementary meanwhile the other school we were with was a middle school. The other school caused multiple fights with us, including breaking a kids finger. The camp did nothing to address this at all. The staff are all careless. They will have the time of their life, laughing, happy, in front of the campers. If the campers laugh at something, they get all mad at us, even if it wasn't even inappropriate. Second of all, my room woke up early so naturally, we talked quietly. The counselor got mad, and forced everybody, including the ones still sleeping to wait in the freezing cold living room, no blankets allowed, until we were supposed to wake up the rest of the cabin. The activaties are also all crammed into 1 class. This includes archery, rock climbing, and candle making. They are always having the kids yell what they want them to say, but we have no voice. I dont reccomend this.

My kid has aspergers' syndrome. Came home with fever )noone ever checked her). Came home with horrible bruises all over, and came home crying. She did say the food was good though.

You feel like you are at daycare! They have way too many rules. Your bedtie is 8:30, and some of the staff are just plain annoying and mean

I have spent HUNDREDS of dollars on other camps, which have ALL been a total waste! Sent both of my children to Camp Marston this summer and after they've been home a week, they are still not done raving about camp!! From the counselors, to the food, to the activities, they loved it all!! They are definitely looking forward to next year, when they will go again. Thanks Camp Marston and Staff for everything! You've made two children extremely happy and you've reassured a nervous mother that there are indeed GOOD camps out there!

Worked here and absolutely could not believe it. The counselors were there only to make money and almost all of them were international staff and had never attended a camp before, nevermind THIS camp. The staff would flirt constantly in front of the campers and acted like they didn't even know why they were there and didn't seem to like children at all. The activities were tiny, the food was extremely unhealthy (watching 'snacktime' was like feeding time on a farm) and I just did not agree at all with the way it was run.

The instructors are AWESOME! I had Abby, who had been there for 6 weeks so far, and won Cabin of the Week 4 out of 6 weeks, and this week... I WON CABIN OF THE WEEK! Go Shasta! Kayla J was another instructor who was generous, fun, and caring. Abby and Kayla were voted the best instructors out of all the kids! At certain points at camp, I felt nauseous, so the counselors (instructors) took very good care of me without taking me to the Health Center. GO CAMP MARSTON! Canoeing ROCKS! And Sixth Grade Camp ROCKS!

This is a marvelous camp my son and daughter enjoy everything about Camp Marston they look forward to their next trip to Marston! (Six years and counting) As a parent I am amazed how the counselors really interact with the kids and make sure they are having a great time. i beg to differ with anyone who has a problem with camp marston. i have been going there for about 8 years now and the reason i keep coming back is the wonderful staff and wonderful activities. they keep you busy. i am now to old to attend marston as a camper but am waiting for summer to begin, so i can become a councior for the camp i grew up with. i can honestly say that marston has shaped me as a person. i have wonderful friends that i have seen every year at marston and who i met at marston, who agree that marston is truely amazing. the staff care about the children and make sure that everyone has an amazing time. there is singing every morning and night at flag and at the end when the week is through there is a candleight ceremony where u can reflect on your week. my last candlelight ceremony as a camper was truley amazing....my last year as a camper and all the previous years will never be forgotten...marston is truly one of a kind.

The mostly international staff do not truley want to be at Marston. They care more about who their co-counselors are dating than their campers. This is not to say that ALL of the Marston staff is like this. The administration is great but when it comes to the actual camp counselors, there is an issue.

My son spent a week at Camp Marston and LOVED it! The counselors were great, the activities were abundant, and my son came back with many smiles and stories. Next year we plan to send both of our boys, as they both are eager to make new friends. I cannot express my gratitude towards your facility and your excellent staff. See you next summer!

This is the second year that my children have been to Camp Marston. My children always come home with the best stories and smiles on their faces. Summer camp should be an experience that every child has and I am sure that my children will remember their experiences here always. Great Camp.....Great Staff....Need I say more???

Being a staff member here for 3 summers, I can honestly say I look forward to the day I get to bring my child back to camp summer after summer. It doesn't get any better than Marston. It's been re-done, but still holds that rustic feel and smell of summer camp. I still come back to visit from time to time to remember all the amazing times I had. Couldn't say enough great things about it!!!

Since my camp experience, Marston has shaped the rest of my life. As a camper for nearly a decade as well as a staff member, camp will always be my home. the directors are knowledgeable, passionate and reflect the spirit of camp. This carries down to the young and energetic staff, who then pass their enthusiasm onto the campers.

Was a camper for 2 years and then worked there for 1 year. The staff is wonderful, they all made my experience both as a camper and staff member fun and rewarding. I would definitely send my child to Camp Marston.

i worked here for 2 years and i was mortified they have since renovated so the buildings are "nice" but it's not a friendly environment it was like i had a stomach ache all the time the staff was encourage to watch kids not interact they hardly had enough staff to do even that and there isn't and singing ( though some don't like that) it's just not good, sadly my ratings were very generous
