The only kind of kids who cant appreciate the life changing experiences this camp offers are those too spoiled and stupid to simply enjoy a week in the woods having fun. In reference to the bottom comment on this page water bottles were given out freely to every camper. Maybe parents shouldnt be rating this camp according to their spoiled childs exaggerated tales of how "it was so hard" to play some relaxed sports and activities for once instead of sitting at home being pampered watching tv.

Camp Patahontas is THE WORST camp I have ever been to by far. The counselors are lazy and mean, and the activities are lame. I was SOOOOO glad when the week was over because THIS CAMP IS AWFULLLLL!!!!

Camp Patahontas is THE WORST camp I have ever been to. You do the lamest activities in the day camp and the over-night camp is AWFUL! The facilities are nasty and the counselors don't even care,plus you could find better food in the dump. If you don't want to waste your summer DON'T GO!!

YO CANNOT THINKTHIS CAMP IS BAD!!!! whoever does need a life lesson on friends the help you through everything there bees are barely seen there UNLESS YOU BOTHER THEM staff are nice and funny!!! i love that camp! igot my first kiss there!!! if you hate it then dont rate it!!!!

WOW the staff are super awesome and funny they have the worlds best staff there i think every body who ever goes to camp should go there i experienced the power of the bee there i got stung 36 times and avoided 11 stings i recommend it highly

This is the best camp in the entire world! It's my home away from home, my second family. I've learned countless camp songs, games and traditions that I will never forget. I recommend this camp to anyone who wants to have a fun care-free summer and make lasting friends. Patahontas Forever

THIS CAMP ROCKS MY SOCKS!!!! Don't listen to anyone who says it's bad! The activites are fun, staff rocks, and the stories will scare the pants off yah! :-) DEf. 2 thumbs up. I'm Patahontas born, bread, and DEAD! Patahontas ROCKS!!!

i have been going to Patahontas since I was eight years old and have had the time of my life there. True, some campers who may be too young for the away from home experience will find sleeping away stressful, but if your child can handle homesickness and the great outdoors there is no better camp than Patahontas

Patahontas was the best camp that I ever went to as a kid. I loved every session because of the staff and the kids. Sure there were times when it was uncomfortable because of the wheather but you can't change anything about that and looking back on it now I don't remember how hot I was I remember the people and the activites. Everyone who I know loved every minute of this camp. The staff are really deticated and they all love their jobs. They often start to think about fun activites and dance themes as early as september. They also talk about how much they miss it during the year, showing that this is not just a job to them. Patahontas traditions are one of the best things about it, making you feel like your part of another family that will always be there for you throughout the period of time you are with the camp. I give patahontas an A+. The only thing I regret is not staying there as a counsalor for as long as possible.

PATAHONTAS AND TEEN PATHONTAS ARE THE BEST CAMPS EVER!! IF YOU THINK DIFFERENTLY, YOU ARE STUPIS AND WRONG. The counselors are awesome and really care about us campers. Patahontas is my life in the summer. the activities are fun, and u no wat?? the knots they make you learn is unit one are sometimes helpful in life and ARE very helpful while in the WOODS!!! This is a traditional sleep away camp with deep roots in it's past and traditions. This year (2007) was the 27 anniversary of the camp and i am PROUD to say that i have been part of keeping the camp and the traditions alive for the past four years. I rally am "PATAHONTAS BORN, AND I'M PATAHONTAS BRED, AND WHEN I DIE, I'LL BE PATAHONTAS DEAD!!!!" --Julia

Whoever wrote that other review is crazy. Camp Patahontas is so laid back and FUN!!! I should know. The counselers are super nice and it is really fun. And there are gonna be some aactivies you don't like at every camp, so it doesn't matter. it is really fun, and has flushing tolits!

This camp is just plain AWFUL. There is no good about it. We suppose the day camp bit COULD be considered OK, but just OK. It is far from enjoyable or (gasp) fun! During this portion of camp, you will learn such delightful things as how to tie complicated knots, which WILL really help you in life, sweat to death in their idea of soccer, and get your character judged by their stupid "star system". However, compared to the overnight part of this campout "adventure", the day camp is positively delightful. It is a blessing that the sleepaway portion lasts only a week. The vast majority of counselors are very irresponsible and do not understand the children put into their care. The food is as wretched as it could possibly become. During the day children are forced into activities that cause them to sweat ferociously, with only vague hints of bringing waterbottles. The facilities smell and need cleaning. Lastly, they do almost nothing for homesickness. Not recommended.
