Click to report rating    7/17/17   5     5     5     5     5   My son has been to Camp Bill Larry for 5 years, my grandson for 3. They talk about camp all year. My son is on the spectrum, he's given the special attention he requires. This is the perfect social environment for him to learn to interact with other children and to be a boy. I can not recommend this camp enough. If you have a son who's going to be in-front of a TV or PC screen all summer, send them to camp. Unplug your son and give him the opportunity to play and be a boy. The growth you will see at summers end is worth every penny. My son will be too old to go next year, but we're sending our two grandsons. Experiences, memories, friendships to last a lifetime! RID: 51039
Click to report rating    11/13/16   5     5     5     5     5   By far this is the best summer camp in America, over the past 7 summers I have created memories and have experiences that shape me to who I am today. I can not say thank you enough times to the director and staff to what they have shaped me into and helped me get over my fears. On the off season, I get camp sick because that's how much I miss the place. After the first summer as a 10-year-old, I knew that this was my second home. Now I am a counselor and I truly can appreciate all that camp has to offer. The view, the people, the food, the experience. I look forward to coming to camp every year and I will always be a part of the WLC family just like they are a part of mine. It is not just a normal camp where your ,kid goes and plays sports and makes friends for that summer, this is a camp where your son will make best friends and also learn what it means to be a part of the WLC community. This camp has been letting boys be boys since 1913. RID: 50238
Click to report rating    7/21/14   5     5     5     5     5   I have a son who has gone to William Lawrence Camp for 6 yrs (camper, LIT, staff) and a step son who went for 10 yrs, so I feel I am in a good position to rate this camp. WLC is a not for profit camp, very reasonably priced and provides incredible value. Other camps in the area might charge close to double what WLC does, but I can't imagine they provide that much more value. You will more than get your money's worth at WLC. The camp seems to sprinkle magic in the trees. My son is his happiest at camp and I am thankful everyday for all that his camp experience has given him. This camp is everything I wanted a camp to be for my son - simple, safe and traditional and one based on friendship, loyalty, the outdoors and outdoor skills and lots and lots of fun. And I mean - LOTS of crazy, boy fun! The camp has great counselors, leadership and philosophy. I can't recommend it high enough. RID: 47658
Click to report rating    9/5/13   5     5     5     5     5   Amazing place, i have been going there for 6 years and i have to say theres not much i can improve. Staff is GREAT with always a couple of internationals which is always cool, i had a councilor from zimbabwe once! So much fun and spirit in the dining halls and great for character building. We also have the option go on several awesome wilderness trips including climbing Mount Washington. As someone who has been to multiple camps this is BY FAR the best and i can not recommend it enough!! RID: 45936
Click to report rating    5/8/13   5     5     5     5     5   This is a great camp -- my son attended for 5 years. Great activities, great leadership - great for confidence building. They offer so many activities and have wonderful traditions - strong values too. The kids can pick their activities and have daily "open" activities. I can't imagine any camp being better. I think they just had their 100 year anniversary - that's impressive! RID: 44442

Click to report rating    5/21/12   5     5     5     5     5   What an amazing camp this is! Great, attentive staff, wonderful variety of activities from waterskiing to climbing tower. Also on a beautiful piece of land. This camp is EASILY worth the tuition. RID: 41096
Click to report rating    4/17/08   2     3     2     4     3   My son attended this camp for four years - he was relatively happy until last year. The Senior Leader forgot that the children were the paying customers. Likewise, this same character had a poor background as a camper - until he was promoted to the rank of Senior Leader - the result is many Seniors are not returning this year. He tried to punish the kids by making them clean dishes, the bathrooms or worse writting 1000 times. Nat Crane the Director did not follow through with my complaints and subsequently they lost this customer. Sort of a shame because the camp has real potential - but they need a leader who has some sort of educational leadership background and recognizes the primary responsibility is to safely care for our children. Lots of old timers keep their hands in the camp - but it is a not-for-profit and will never grow until some real management changes happen. RID: 22351
