Click to report rating    7/8/24   5     5     5     5     5   Camp champions is my favorite place in the whole world. I have been going there for 12 years and sadly this was my last year as I am now a graduate of the senior camper program. Starting at age 5 at camp champions was the best decision my parents could have ever made. Year after year that I went back my bonds with the girls in my cabin grew stronger, I gained independence, confidence, resilience, and respect along with so many other things. The activities that camp offers are endless and accessible to those who have fun doing certain things. Some might love to play sports which camp offers so many different types of sports to choose from but some might be more interested in doing ax throwing or going to the petting zoo. Steve and Susie Baskin are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met and the 3 years of the senior camper program tops off every summer I have spend there. It is truly my favorite place in the whole world and I don’t know who I would be without them. RID: 54036
Click to report rating    8/1/21   1     1     1     1     1   Sent my 12 yr old sons for their first year, they came home hating camp, never want to go again. They were ignored by staff and majority of the equipment and activities were off limits (reason giving lack of staff to run it). Bulling and groping amongts the campers, and no sense of safety. One son had to fight off being sexually touched by another male camper. The consulors would just walk off when any compliants was told. The Consolers only appeared to walk them to eat and sleep. It's a free for all and no one cares. The only concern the consulors had was asking the kids, "what's your greatest flex?", & mainly interested in which kid came from what family and what $$$ they had. No conoeing, no sailing, no rock climbing, no go carts, half the lake activities were broke, they mainly sat in a hot cabin all day. No way to communicate but postal mail. Luggage missing & what we did get back was broken. Heartbreaking to know they worked all summer to earn the money to go & it was a disaster. RID: 53434
Click to report rating    12/30/15   5     5     5     5     5   I spent the majority of my childhood and my early twenties at this magnificent place. The staff at CC are the greatest role models. Camp Champions is the reason I am who I am today. Thanks to CC, I learned to be a better version of myself, and a more intentional friend to many people. I am still best friends with my CC friends. Click to report rating    12/16/15   5     5     5     5     5   My daughter has had 2 wonderful summers so far at Camp Champions and we are looking forward to many more! The staff is loving and warm and not only nurtures the campers, but also helps them grow and become independent. The facilities have every water activity imaginable and the directors continue to invest in upgrades and new attractions. The directors are absolutely committed to providing and addressing whatever personal circumstance exists to ensure that you feel comfortable with the arrangements they put in place. And while expensive, this camp is not just a fun place for kids to go during the summer, but the camp instills wonderful values in the children. My daughter comes home a more mature, respectful and independent child than how we left her. The camp teaches and practices respect, helping others, challenging yourself, and being resilient. I was initially skeptical but after the first summer, all my expectations were exceeded! This is an absolutely impressive camp! RID: 49342
Click to report rating    12/15/15   5     5     5     5     5   Camp Champions is the best summer camp around. Not only are the counselor's and staff totally focused on providing the best camp experience to every camper, but the facilities, activities, and traditions are the reason children and counselors keep coming back each year. I was a camper for 5 summers, a counselor for 4 summers, and was lucky enough to serve as a staff member last year. This camp does so much more than providing an amazing summer camp experience. The tools and lessons learned at camp go on to affect each camper and counselor for years after. The staff wants to make sure that each camper is loved, feels encouraged to try new things, and develops skills that they can take back to the real world. This place is my home away from home, and has played a huge contributing role towards the woman I am today. Going to summer camp is a good choice, but go to Camp Champions is the best and most life changing choice you will every make. RID: 49341

Click to report rating    12/7/15   4     5     5     4     4   My kids had a great summer! The values that my children are learning and the traditions that remain are priceless! They gain independence, confidence and coping skills. They have fun and learn so many new skills. It's a family tradition for us. My kids had a great summer! Thanks for another wonderful, memorable year! RID: 49328

Click to report rating    10/19/15   5     5     5     5     5   Camp Champions provides a safe, fun and nurturing environment for our child. We are always impressed to see how his confidence level has increased. He looks forward to returning each year! RID: 49242
Click to report rating    10/13/15   5     5     5     5     5   felt like I had nothing to worry about dropping my child off. The photographs and blogs that we were able to check daily relieved any worry that we might have as parents. It was really great to get a taste or explanation of what the kids were up to, but not too much. Our entire family and some close friends loved being able to send our child a quick email to him during his time at CC also. We love the 4 "R"s, the structure, the teamwork, confidence building, and accomplishments he makes each summer. RID: 49232
Click to report rating    10/11/15   5     5     5     5     5   Both my husband and I attended summer camps when we were "young", but nothing compares to Camp Champions. We have sent both of our children to camp for 3 weeks and have seen such positive changes in their lives… improved self confidence, more respect for others, self reliance (instead of on mom or dad), and a magnificent tan! It truly is a SPECIAL place… both kids cannot wait until camp time each summer! RID: 49229
Click to report rating    10/8/15   5     5     5     5     5   I loved being there as a camper and I love the excitement my son came home with again this past summer. RID: 49223
Click to report rating    10/7/15   5     5     5     5     5   My favorite thing about Camp Champions is the philosophy of the four R's, followed by my total confidence in the safety and professionalism of staff and counselors. Thank you for everything you do for my kid! RID: 49221
Click to report rating    10/6/15   5     5     5     5     5   I went to this camp as a camper and a member of the High School Leadership program, and then worked for several years as a counselor. This camp was probably the most valuable developmental experience I had outside my home. It is a blast, the culture/community is so loving, and it helps people discover and be the best versions of themselves. I would love for every kid to have the kind of camp experience that I had!  2/26/15   5     5     5     5     5   Camp Champions (CC) is one of the best overall experiences a parent can provide his/her child. My daughter is homesick for camp from the day we pick her up, and it never really goes away. The activities, friends, food, location are all top-notch (huge grassy lakefront position on constant-level Lake LBJ), and the camp management is totally unique in the camp world. For Steve and Suzie Baskin, their camp is not just a job or something they inherited from their parents or relatives - they LIVE for camp (and literally at camp - they live on-site) and what the independence, leadership and cooperation can bring into a child's life. They work with leading University child development specialists and stay current on academic and practical aspects of maximizing the camp experience. They are smart, articulate, committed people who will bring the very best experience to your children. We weren't looking for the oldest camp that my parents went to, we were looking for the best camp. CC is it! RID: 48451

Click to report rating    4/4/13   5     5     5     5     4   My sons have been going to this camp for eight years. They can't wait for the next summer! Food is great. Even though the activities are geared for sports, you don't have to be a super star to participate. Weather is hot! Lake is cool. A five-star staff who really cares. RID: 44183
