Sabattis is a wonderful camp for Scouts to go to. It is not like most camps. This camp is set back into the woods with no noise pollution. The views are breathtaking. The Staff is well trained, and know how to give an excellent program. Their are many activities for scouts of all ages. They range from lookout mtn to virgin timbers. The food is great, and the sleeping accommodations couldnt be better. Sabattis is the place to be. I am proud to attend Sabattis with my Troop from Split Rock, NY.

For the past 4 years, i've gone to Sabattis in t. 220- and I love it! That Adirondak camp is my home away from home! there is so much nature, and so little of mankind's artificial world. The food is awesome, and the lake water is cold and sweet.

I have been to summer camp at 4 different Scout camps, and I have inspected 2 others on visitation teams. This is by far the best camp out there. Patrol cooking IS the Patrol method, and that is worth the trip by itself, as dining hall camping is almost worthless in my opinion. The Scouts NEED to learn to work as a Patrol. The program that is available is also amazing! We visited an island for the night. We spilt into 3 groups to do age appropriate activities for the Scouts and we were never bored! The Scouts put in over 50 miles each during camp, either by foot or paddle. The older guys got to see a 100+ year old tree and many parts of the surrounding woods. The younger guys got to taste some higher adventure without overdoing it. The guys in the middle did some mountain biking and climbing. If you are going to any other camp I think you are making a mistake because Sabattis has it all, and the 32 boys that went loved the whole week, as did the 14 adults!

I attended this Camp as a Young Scout back in the 70's and 80's, and for the last 4 years as a Leader. It has not disappointed me yet. The Staff has always been helpful and attentive. The program is well suited for Scouts of all ages, and the Patrol cooking method helps young Boys learn how to prepare meals without having to rely on "Mom" This by far must be one of the best Scout Camps.

Highly intelligent staff, great facilities, and an atomosphere that can't be beat anywhere in the northeast! A great camping experience with a strong focus on patrol-style cooking. We were up Week 2 I think, and the staff we energetic, willing, and inspiring to be around. An especially good job from the Scout Craft staff and the Waterfront staff. The boys loved this trip and it was certainly worth the money. There is plenty to do and plenty to see (and plenty of off camp property to view!). Sometime I'd love to go see the virgin Timbers. We'll be attending next year with high hopes!

This camp is to far off the road to be safe to take scouts. There are better staffed and safer camps in NNY that have beter programs. Won't go there again.

Having visited a number of camps and having been the Scoutmaster for T152 at summer camp for the last 12 years Sabattis continues to improve year over year and it started very high. With the full patrol environement having the SPL run the camp and each patrol looks after themselves there is no better training for the patrol method. Added to the location when the entire troop can get out of the fixed camp and into the wilderness proper could not be bettered anywhere.

Great Camp and well run Program. The emphasis in recent years to get campers out into the Scout Reservation and surrounding primitive property is great. You have to travel around the area to witness what a great setting the camp has.

In my opinion, the best Boy Scout Camp in the Northeast! The combination of the Patrol-Style cooking method and its isolated location in the heart of the Adirondacks make this a true camp instead of a resort, which is what many camps, even Boy Scout camps, are turning into. The Staff is enthusiastic and helpful, the trip program is the real deal, and the merit badge program is top-notch, the Staff was well trained to teach. The Wilderness Survival Jingle is still stuck in my head! Great job, all around. (2009)

I rate this camp very High 5s.Pete Cecconi ASM Troop 162, Lowville, New York 1st week of 2007. The boys said they had a good time. The Older boys want to come back next year and Trek more and longer. We had the great oppertunity to camp at Birches, great site. The tents were level and so was the Latrine! Daryl,Shawn,Matt and Jes did a fantastic job. Thanks John B. for the tour.. OA Team did really great at the closing camp fire. Hope to see you all again
