Campers walk a block and cross Chicago Ave to get to the dining hall. They are not supervised during this time. They walk to and from the dining hall on their own whenever they want. I wouldn't want my 7 or 8 year old doing it alone. The website states that Doug Bruno would make an appearance, but the campers were told on day one he would not be there at all. The daily schedule included time for swimming but campers were told they couldn't find a lifeguard so there was no swimming. Lots of downtime spent sitting in a dorm room with nowhere to go and nothing to do. They were not allowed to go outside other than walking to the dining hall. Basketball instruction seemed fine, but probably not $730 fine. Overall a good experience but would not do it again for the time and money spent. RID: 53742
Click to report rating    6/25/18   1     2     2     2     2   My Daughter attended camp this year and last and she will never go back! This camp is very unsafe. Anyone can get into the facilities, including the dorms! The building and dorms are massive and they do not conduct fire drill. There is no check out procedure - so anyone can just take a kid. The Dorm mom ratio is 70 campers to 1. This year the Dorm mom on my daughters floor brought her two young children with her. There were homesick, crying campers everywhere and the Dorm Mom makes no attempt to help them. The basketball instruction is ok but most of the time the girls have to sit around so Bruno can hear himself talk. There were injuries and illnesses with no calls home to parents. It was nightmare and I would highly encourage parents not to send their girls to this camp! RID: 51919
Click to report rating    7/27/13   3     4     3     2     4   I wouldn't want to come here again! There is very little personal attention. Doug Bruno makes us chant his personal mantras all the time which is extremly annoying. There is no emphasis on fitness or any other aspect of the game besides ball handling. The "coaches" don't care about the campers at all. They are former or current depaul players and couldn't care less about the girls they are coaching. It is a waste of time. RID: 45386
