Click to report rating    1/12/12   4     5     4     4     4   Pretty darn good... but the food was so-so at best. The facilities were amazing. Unfortunately, I was stuck in a dorm with a trio of pervs, but otherwise it was great and I'd definitely recommend it. RID: 37715
Click to report rating    6/25/11   4     5     5     3     5   I had so much fun at Space Camp! The food was gross and one of the supervisors was really mean, but over all it was really fun. We had 30 minutes in the morning and night to get ready. I did Space and Aviation so we got to go to the Aviation Challenge campus. We had Shadow as our day leader and he was AWESOME! (Oh and P.S It is air conditioned there) RID: 36199
Click to report rating    6/7/08   5     5     5     5     5   First of all, I recieved a scholarship to U.S. Space Camp and it was one of the best times of my life. Second, to the comment made 7/20/07, I attended the camp myself, and although their were no chaperones sleeping in the actual room with us, the night counselors came in to check on us every ten minutes at night, and I could not sleep at all the first night I was up until 3 a.m. and the counselers were STILL coming in to check on us. I dont know what space camp YOUR child went to......and by the way are you ****, and do you have anything against inner city kids going to space camp. You make it sound like its a bad thing........... RID: 23637

Click to report rating    10/28/07   4     5     4     5     3   Best time of my life. I was able to go 4 times and never regret any of it. One thing, though, the money seems a little much. But all in all one of the best times of my life RID: 16556
Click to report rating    9/15/07   5     5     5     5     5   I had the best time of my life at the Advanced space academy (12 day). I made friends with everyone in my group on the first day. You do so much more than you expect and everything is so much fun. It doesn't matter whether your learning something or not you have fun and if you don't make friends there then there is something wrong with you. It's because of the fact that everyone who is there has the same interests as you and when you meet them your instant friends. Before I went I was expecting to go there and just be with a bunch of "nerds" but they weren't nerds. In my group there was a cheerleader, jocks, and other people that you would never expect to see at space camp but that just proves that everyone can go there and have the time of there lives. Because of space camp I want to be a flight engineer for nasa and go to space, and because of camp I have 9 new best friends that live all across the country. Space camp was the best thing to ever happen to me. RID: 15334
Click to report rating    8/7/07   5     5     5     5     5   I went to Space Camp when they had it in California, but I went to its spinoff, Aviation Challenge, in Alabama. The staff are intelligent, caring, and some are hilarious. Aviation Challenge , in my opinion, is more fun, but I enjoy flight simulators and outdoors experiences more than the Space Shuttle. I would highly reccomend both camps, I'd suggest checking out Aviation Challenge if your kid wants to fly fighter jets, or learn survival sills, or loves crawling in the dirt(Escape and Evasion is an AWESOME experience. As a Californian, it is the only word in my vocabulary that can sum it up well enough).Space Camp and Aviation Challenge share a mess hall, but Space Camp tends to have nicer facilities(although both are clean and safe, duct tape is a nice thing to have at Aviation Challenge, for various reasons). Both have cool flight simulators, although AC is best for shotting down Russian planes, going in a centrifuge, swimming, learning about aircraft, etc. RID: 13716
Click to report rating    7/20/07   3     5     5     1     1   Beware - there are no in-room chaperones, only a security guard in the hall. VERY diverse mix of demographic backgrounds, at least 50 percent of the campers were there from inner city. This combined with lack of supervision created many problems during the night including boys visiting girls cabins. I am a very unhappy mom - this camp was expensive....administration was giving lip service. Beware! RID: 13157
