Excellent camp for kids with emotional delays great staff and dedicated administrators. Good food overall and plenty of hot coffee for the staff. I feel that the program really builds up the campers sense of self esteem and emotional growth. Gorgeous campus grounds with a nice lake. Great choice overall . I also miss this place very much

My daughter served as a counselor at this camp last summer and her work days were well over 12 hours long. The staff wondered how they could keep kids safe when they were so tired. My daughter is not a complainer but she said it was a terrible job. Management was only critical, never praised any staff member. The staff kept quitting and new ones had to be hired all summer long. Be advised: Do not send your children here and, especially, find another place to be a Camp Counselor.

As other people said, this camp is pretty terrible. The counselors are snobby and hate everyone except for a certain type of girl, the kids are stuck-up, and when it rains you sit inside and watch movies in a carpeted/air-conditioned building. I guess all in all it's just more of a summer gathering place for JAPpy kids than whatever camp you're picturing.

I did not really like Ramapo. I went here when I was young, and didn't enjoy my experience very much. The counclers didn't pay much attention to the girls who were not tiny, cute,adorable,and didn't suck up to them. The activities were terrible. No skills were tought, and I didn't learn anything new. The arts and crafts were my esape. They were the only fun thing, and I spent most of my time there. The girls were mean and snobby. There was no uniform, so you were teased all the time about your clothes. I went to Ramapo for two years, and I was very glad to leave. I went with a friend, and that was the only true friend I had there. The directors tried to impress the kids by showing them "amazing" and "cool" things, like a huge play-area, or jungle gym. I really didn't enjoy my time at Ramapo, and I would advise you not to go there.

Ramapo rocks totally! They have every type of activity you can imajane. The counclers are always so fun and nice. Carnival day is the best. And there is a play every month there. They even have Archery and Tennis Tournaments. It's the coolest place in the universe!!!! GO RAMIPO!!!
