This was the worst first camp experience for my 12 year old son and his best friend. Kids in their cabin were up all night keeping kids up while counselors slept. Activities were mediocre, food was okay, evening competition game rules were not fully explained and many kids were lost without any support or direction. Would NOT recommend for first time campers .

I love this place more then anywhere on earth, but if you're looking for a highly religious place it's not a good fit for you. We have chapel every other day and it's one of the most special times at camp for me. In my opinion the chapel service is very nondenominational and consists mostly of singing uplifting songs with some Christian songs mixed in. So all in all if your looking for a true "Jesus camp" don't go here , but if your looking for a place where you can really grow as a person and love every second go to Calvary.

Sheldon Calvary Camp is a Christian summer camp for children, youth, and adults. It is a ministry dedicated to the lives of campers who come each year for recreation and spiritual growth in an environment filled with the love of Jesus Christ. It is a place where children both discover and renew their spiritual lives in Christian community and carry that sense of grace away with them. It is a place where children come to understand and care for one another in their diversity. It is a place alive with a contagious spirit of joy and love. Calvary Camp is a magical place where children learn to grow, learn to love, learn to accept differences, and learn the meaning of spirituality. As a camper for 9 years and a staff member, there is no better place on earth! Calvary teaches you so many things and once you experience this camp on Lake Erie, you will never want to leave it! It leaves an unforgettable mark on your heart that you can never lose!

This camp is amazing and so much fun. Really, if you are thinking about going to camp, this is the camp to go to. Everyone is so excepting and the staff is just perfect. I've been going for maybe six or seven years now, and I absolutely love it. This is why I rated the following categories: Staff - I rated a five because they are so accepting, fun, truthful, and just easy to get along with. Facilities - The facilities are very cleanly, especially for most being either fully or partially outdoors and always open. Activities - They are so much fun, like for real.. At SCC you will NEVER be bored. Personal Attention - Everyone pays attention to you. I don't think it's even possible to be ignored at SCC, really.. Everyone finds atleast one new friend. Monetary Value - Since I am not the keeper of money in my house, I would not know a lot about this, but really, it's worth the price. Even my mom said so. Stuck between the 1 or 2 week session? Go 2, it's well worth the money.
