my son attended for one session and found the experience just awful. Poor leadership (if any) as to address his concerns for being bullied. Also, very late night games of BB so sleeping was difficult. The director (Steve L) is very fake as with others. Overall, an unsafe environment for youth.

West End House Camp in Maine offers an ideal program for growing boys - in a pristine and gorgeous Maine landscape. My two boys have attended for years and would not miss it. In addition, the camp has helped disadvantaged boys from our community to spend summers there as well; a solid program!

My son has been going to WEHC for 11 years. First as a camper and now a staff member. These have been the best summers of his life.Not only did he love the sports, but he learned to swim, water ski and sail.The camp has help him learn responsibilities and mature into a fine young man.He has made many great friends.

West End House Camp has been the single most positive experience in my son's 18 years. It has without a doubt helped to shape him into the person he is today. The staff is experienced and attentive. History and camaraderie run deep. This is a place where a boy makes friends for a lifetime. This coming summer will be my son's 10th at WEHC-- a proud staff member helping to carry on the tradition. Can't say enough good things about his WEHC experience. He absolutely LOVES this camp and all that it stands for.

My son, Jack, has attended West End House Camp for the past 6 years. He was one of a group of 5 boys from our town in New Jersey that went up. At this point, 3 of those original 5 boys have become members of the 5 year club. Jack is going to be a CIT this coming summer. The camp is small and intimate, allowing strong friendships to form. I also appreciate that the boys live in open air cabins and that cel phones and games are not permitted - these make for so much more of a natural experience...and being on that beautiful lake only adds to the environment! The facilities are well maintained and the staff is incredibly attentive. According to Jack, the food is great, too.

My son has spent 5 summers at West End house camp and has loved each summer more then the last. He has a special relationship with his counselors that lasts throughout the year.

Unquestionably, the best summer camp in the region! Superb staff, sensational facilities, creative and fun activities, all for a great value. My sons both attended West End House Camp for a decade and it helped shape their lives. I'd give it the highest recommendation possible.

This camp is not a good camp for any child. They bully each other and are so focused on sports that they forget to have fun.

Ten years after attending this camp my son is still dealing with issues of bullying, intimidation by campers and staff and the fact that the adult psych counsellor told him he was not handling the abuse he suffered from these people like a "big boy". Unless there have been marked changes in leadership, attitude, approach and apprpopriate training of staff there are not adequate words to express how much I advise any parent to avoid this camp.

this place is horrible. Candy is all that matters and if you didn't bring candy no one would like you. The kids there aren't nice at all. It's all about sports and if you make one single mistake everyone goes nuts and gets mad at you. The counselers do absolutely nothin. NEVER GO THERE

I have had so many family members and friends attend West End House Camp over the years, including last summer. There is not a better camp out there at any price. The quality and continuity of the campers and the staff are excellent. The facilities, from the cabins, the gym, the dining hall, the courts and fields,as well as the beautiful waterfront are amazing. Most importantly, the camp teaches the right values, led by the veteran directors and the experienced staff. Just about all of the staff are former campers!West End House Camp is a fun, exciting, comfortable, educational, and nurturing place to be. So many people love it and become part of the West End house Camp family now and for the rest of their lives!

Fist off... The camp encourages the kids to bring tons of candy and it b/comes like a currency there. Since when is camp about my son eating more cany in the 2 weeks there then the entire year in our house?! My son was bullied, and the bunk counselors laughed right along with the bulling. Very little supervison of that kind of thing. There was a kid who threw away another campers shoes! His punishment was to serve lunch the next day! The bunks were in disrepaire and the toilets were disgusting. Lots better opions in Maine!

My son was a camper and then a counselor for a total of 12 years. There is no better overnight camp for sports, waterfront (beautiful lake), and lifelong friends. And West End House Camp is reasonably priced as well. You and your son will be very happy!

I love this camp so much. I alwayts have so much fun, and ill come back for many years to come. The staff is great, except a few. The facilities and food is also good, and we get new stuff every year. I can't wait for the season toi begin. Bill tells the best stories.
