Click to report rating    6/25/14   5     5     5     5     5   Great camp! I have worked at Camp Fern, sent my two boys to Fern; my older two grandsons attended Fern; my granddaughter is attending now and her younger brother is already planning to go next year. I still take some of the older girls' campers on canoe trips on Caddo Lake. It's truly a real camping experience in a beautiful setting - living in log cabins with other campers the same age and guided by caring counselors and being able to participate in many activities where the camper learns and improves their skills under the guidance of well-trained staff. I have known the family for a number of years and they are fine, Christian people who truly love children and want them to have fun, grow and learn through their camping experience. RID: 47458
Click to report rating    10/31/12   5     5     5     5     5   Camp Fern is my home away from home. This upcoming summer will be my 11th summer at the month session, but I also attended the 2week coed session for 2 years. Camp Fern has been in my life since I was born, with my mom going there too, I have had a life full of Ferny songs and poems. This camp is seriously life changing, you learn so much about yourself and you make life long friends. I can't imagine my life without this wonderful camp in my life. I encourage you to send you children here, you will NOT be disappointed. The staff is always knowledgeably and a great helping hand. The owner and directors are fabulous. They have a variety of different activities that the campers do each day. not to mention the friendly tribal competitions that are forever life changing. I love Camp Fern and I look forward to returning every summer! RID: 42965

Click to report rating    1/15/10   4     5     5     4     5   Camp Fern is a great place! My sister and I along with my aunts, uncles, and cousins have attended Camp Fern for several years. The staff are amazing and the grounds are beautiful. I highly recommend it to all!!!! RID: 31899
Click to report rating    3/16/09   4     5     5     5     5   I have gone to Camp Fern for 4 years and this summer will return for my 5th. My mother has been nurse and that's how I was introduced. I love it! It is my favorite time of the year and I have made lasting friendships there. I learn a lot every time I go and cry closing day. I can't ever wait to return and can say only the best about Fern. The activities are diverse and fun, the staff is caring, mature, and fun, the grounds are lovely, the cabins are very nice, and I love all the animals. Camp Fern has helped make me into the mature, kind, Christian person that I am today. If you or your child is worried about the session lengths, I assure you, once you're there, the time just flies by and you don't ever want to leave. Camp Fern is my home away from home and Margaret and the rest are like extended family. All of the activites are great, especially the tribal ones. Tribes help foster friendly competition and are an integral part of the Camp Fern experience. I love Camp Fern! RID: 29294

Click to report rating    11/6/07   5     5     5     5     5   I have attended Fern for 9 years, 6 as a camper and 3 as a counselor, and loved every minute of it. This camp will teach kids things they can learn no where else in the world. I strongly recommend this camp. RID: 16834
Click to report rating    7/15/07   5     4     4     5     5   Camp Fern is a fabulous camp for girls or boys. My daughter went for over 20 years, bewing a counsellor, instructor, camper...she did it all. The senic beauty of the camp is awesome. Pines that reach to the sky on an idyllic quiet lake in East Texas. The little log cabins are just what camp should be.The activities for the kids have always been fun and they change every year, according to their age. The camp centers around 2 Tribes that the kids are in and they amass points to compete in a friendly fashion with each other. On the last day they have the big war canoe race & it is so fun. This camp is worth every dime. Try it! RID: 12996
Click to report rating    6/27/07   5     5     5     5     4   Camp Fern is a 3rd generation family owned and operated camp. Many of the campers are also 2nd and 3rd generation. It encourages independence, self worth and the love of Jesus. Its motto is "God First, Others Second, I am third." It has been years since I attended CF and I have not yet sent children to camp -- so my ratings on staff, personal attention and monetary value are dated. However, I have visited the camp in the past few years and the facilities & offered activities are still great. RID: 12523
Click to report rating    10/31/06   5     5     5     5     5   This camp was founded in the 30s and has retained its moral and spiritual character since its founding. It is nestled in the beautiful east Texas woodlands on beautiful Fern Lake. Tribal competition and bunk life help teach Fern campers the value of sportsmanship and living together. It is an awesomely beautiful, life-altering place. RID: 4481
