Click to report rating    2/29/16   5     4     5     5     5   This is an outstanding program with substantially improved facilities since the 2007/08 ratings on this site. My kids LOVE it here and are completely overjoyed to swim, boat, and fish in this lake. The duck weed has been well-controlled for years now, and all the docks have been rebuilt and are safe. The cabins have been getting make overs, as well, and though they still lack electricity, the lanterns and bedtime stories more than make up for it. The one thing that has not changed over the years is the lack of parking and the abundance of rain. Neither of which is at all an impediment to my children enjoying their time at this camp! Click to report rating    7/22/13   5     5     5     5     5   Camp Kiwanilong is the best and Happiest place I have ever been too and I'm very surprised that its only rates 2.9 stars when it really is the best place ever highlight of my year every year I would recommend this place to everyone I know if I could but they already know about it so what's the point! Click to report rating    4/21/08   5     4     5     4     3   The bridges were rebuilt and they have a new kitchen and dining cabin which is huge. The water in the small lake is like most still water in Oregon, if you want it crisp and cold come early, if you want slime and ooze come in late summer. There's no parking lot really, I advise you drop your kids and their stuff off in the tiny lot and then park. The kids loved their camp counselors and I was impressed that both years my boys had counselors who read to them every night. This is Oregon. It DOES rain here. As we like to say though, if you don't like the weather just go inside and wait ten minutes, it'll change. The boys were happy with the cabins, they go camping to sleep out and tell ghost stories, they don't want lights and radios in their cabins, and no good camp should need them. Rustic is not always bad. Their favourite activity is archery by far, but they also had praise for the fishing, swimming, and the theme related activities. RID: 22480
Click to report rating    9/8/07   2     1     3     2     1   Very old facilitities. When I arrived, it was raining. Try getting your things to your cabin a mile from the parking lot in mud. Not so fun. There wasn't a whole lot to do, but test "lake" (pond) water. The worst part was the bridges and docks. On the dock, one side was totally wet becuase it's been sinking. There was a limit to how many people could be on that side at a time. The bridges were only supposed to have 2 people on them at a time. And the didn't have railings. The bathrooms were an issue because they are located at only one spot in the whole camp, and have community showers, and 2 or three sinks. RID: 15052
Click to report rating    6/9/07   4     1     2     2     4   This is a very rustic camp. The camp is on what they call a lake, but really a finger, and the water is more like a pond, and stinks, I didn't like it at all. The cabins are very old, without electricity and just have screen doors, and a small window. The food isn't very good either, just above school standards. The most appalling thing about it is the bathrooms. They have just five stalls (per gender), one of which without a door, the others without proper locks. They have constant sewer issues, and the toilets clog frequently. As a result they distribute toilet paper to you in the afternoons and evenings (2 squares) and are frequently out of toilet paper. The showers is a group showering situation, and they have exteremely limited hot water, so 95% of showers are totally cold. At times and depending on your area you are limited to using a PortaPotty. The staff and atmosphere is nice, but without great activites. Only go to this camp for social reasons. It is often cold and bad weater. RID: 11776
