My son started as a 6 year old and now he's going to be a Leader in Training. For him, the freedom to be active in a country environment, play games, and swim was important (and he learned a lot about nature along the way). Other kids will be drawn to the specialty camps that offer more intensive experience in mountain biking or outdoor adventure. Regardless, it's a place where your kid can grow and come back to old friends, and where you can know they are safe and enjoying the country only minutes from Boston. They make transportation easy and are responsive when contacted.

my children have been going to Hale Day Camp for the past 10 years and loved it so much they ask to go back each year. For parents that work, it is a economic solution to keep their children safe, while being engaged in daily sports and games. Additional benefits include the convenient bus pick up & drop off times, daily activities focused on learning and physical activity, and friendships made with children from surrounding communities. My family & I strongly recommend Hale Day Camp.

Excellent camp! Both of my children have gone for years and have loved the experience. There are multiple activities and things to learn and do! The surroundings are beautiful and create a perfect outdoor classroom for the kids to explore and meet new friends.

Our daughter and son both attended Hale Day Camp from the time they were 4 years old. They enjoyed the variety of activities (the ropes course, kayaking and camp singalongs were highlights), benefited from the swim lessons, enjoyed making new friends, and came home happy and tired each day! Our son has been attending Hale's specialty Mountain Bike Camp for the past 6 years and he looks forward to it all year long. His biking skills and knowledge of bike repair have advanced incredibly, and he loves the counselors who provide opportunities for all levels of bikers. Helping create the pump track, choose bike routes and ride on trails to Dover Center for ice cream at the end of the session are highlights. We love that he's outdoors all day being active and learning life skills including cooperation, goal-setting, problem-solving, teamwork, and yes, resilience when the weather isn't ideal. I highly recommend Hale Day Camp for all the reasons above!

All outside rain or shine. Limited activities in every area. Even though they have a pond there is limited boating. Art is limited to gimp and tie dye. The counselors average age is 19 and they spend more time talking with each other than watching your kids. Several injuries to both of my kids and poor judgment by both staff and administration.

One time i was at camp an my friend, some other person and i were in a canoe. We go stuck in some lily pads. Our counselor just walked off with the rest of the group and left us stuck in the canoe. She knew we were still in the canoe because she counted the group and realized we were not there so she turned to look at the water. She realized we were all stuck in the canoe and just started walking back to the main camp! that is just my experience you may have a much better one because that counselor isn't there any more.

This was the worst camp I ever went to. Each day I would go.. I would wish would be the last. The Staff is good.. they were all nice. But if you are not the outside all day type DO NOT GO TO HATE. If it rains you will be in big trouble because you will have no place to go and have nothing to do.. You will just sit there and hope the bus comes soon to take you home.. WARNING if you are a person who hates nature.. you will suffer for weeks at a time.. But if you like woods. ticks. bugs. rain. this is the camp for you!
