They changed the program this year so you have to drop multiple aged kids at different locations (4th and 6th grade) and it changes every week - even for early and late stay. They only get to swim once maybe twice a week. Counselors do not check ID's and will release kids to anyone. Counselors do not engage with the children. They made the groups larger this year and the counselor didn't even know who may kid was at pick-up in week 2. They double charged for all the field trips. They don't explain the program changes until they have your money - 2 weeks before camp starts and it's too late to find something else. I tried to complain and no one cares. COMPLETE MESS! Click to report rating    1/14/15   2     3     4     1     5   My daughter has attended this camp for three years and every year is the same: She really enjoys the swimming, skating and field trips which are a positive for the camp. On the negative side, as a parent, the counselors are much, much, much too young (age approximately between 19-21), don't give their undivided attention to the kids (they don't seem to know how because they act like kids themselves), and it's pretty much a free-for-all. What it needs is a new camp Director and a much more mature, experienced staff to run this camp to be outstanding. RID: 48290
Click to report rating    6/25/14   5     5     4     5     5   We are three weeks into the summer and have been thrilled with this program. Whatever was going on in previous years regarding counselors releasing kids to just anyone has been corrected. The counselors aren't your run of the mill college kids or kids fresh out of high school. Some are teachers and the counselors who are college students are majoring in phys ed, pre-med, sports therapy, etc. Counselor to camper ratio is outstanding. My daughter plays with friends all morning and swims or ice skates all afternoon. Whatever she's in the mood for. The only negative I can see is the playground/swim/ice skate schedule could get boring for some kids who might want more structured, planned activities every day. But from my perspective, it's everything a relaxed, fun summer is supposed to be - but in a safe and controlled environment. And even at the non-resident rate, the fees are half what we paid last year for a school based program that wasn't nearly as much fun. RID: 47450
Click to report rating    5/14/13   4     4     5     4     5   My daughter attended this camp and had a great experience. She enjoyed ice skating and swimming and going on field trips. It's a great value for your money. My daughter was active all day and would normally fall asleep in the car before we could get out of the parking lot. We could have sent her to daycare, spent twice the money and had her bored all day. We are already signed up for this year. RID: 44476
Click to report rating    2/8/13   2     2     2     1     1   This camp is VERY poorly run. I had my 2 kids attend there last year (ages 6 & 7) and it was disappointing. Basically the environment is a "free for all"...I would go to pick up my kids & all the counselors would be in little groups talking and the kids were basically on their own. My son has a tree nut allergy and uses an EpiPen. Prior to enrolling him for camp I had 2 lengthy conversations with them about his allergy and the EpiPen. On the first day of camp when I arrived with the EpiPen, the camp staff and camp director were mystified, as if they had never encountered a child with an EpiPen before. The director called me and told me that they didn't even have a place in the whole Rec Center where they could store his EpiPen and she wanted to know if he could keep it in his backpack outside in the hot sun. Also - the "Alternate Pick Up/Drop Off Form has no place for a parent signature. My father in law picked the kids up a few times and no one ever asked to see his ID. RID: 43619
Click to report rating    6/20/11   1     3     2     1     3   I would not recommend this camp to anyone that cares about the safety or enrichment of their children. First off, no one checks I.D's when picking up the children so ANYONE can get your children. As for supervision, my children would be better off home alone. My son came home with scabs all over his neck because another camper was clawing him. I asked why the councelors didn't do anything and he said they were busy playing poker. The camp also claims its appropriate for 12 year olds, but my son is expected to do the same projects as the 6 year olds. Aside from the safety issues and the lack of supervision, the hours of the camp make it impossible to get to and from work unless you work in the area. RID: 36166
Click to report rating    3/31/11   4     3     4     5     5   My children attended Summer 2010 and had a very positive experience. Badges are used for pickup. Counselors were helpful and attentive. I was called many times when there was an injury. Great variety of trips and recreation. Great value. Fun! Going back this year... RID: 35508
Click to report rating    6/24/07   1     1     1     1     5   My neice attended this camp until she broke her arm while attending. One day I picked her up and was told I had to sign a paper stating that they gave her an ice pack because she fell off a swing on a playground. I found her sitting completely alone with a melted and warm ice pack (who knows how long ago the incident happened). To make a long story short, my neice was actually kicked by another child and fell. She wound up with a dislocated elbow and a broken arm in two places. No one ever called her parents to let them know that she was hurt. An incident report was never filed. This camp is terrible. The "teachers" will let anyone pick up the kids. They don't check IDs, and simply send the kids off with anyone. Obviously they don't have a clue about policy and procedure, and they don't care about a child's well being. Please don't send your child to this camp. It is unsafe, and although the price is very good, it is just not worth it. RID: 12405
