I wanted to love this place, I have heard so many good things about it. But after attending for 3 years I can't be up anymore. Some of their staff (Like John Crow, Bones the med office, & the guys in flintlock) are amazing, helpful and friendly, but some are snotty and have an attitude and if you question any thing tell you "too bad go talk to the office if you don't like it." The food has been way bad for the last two years, and only sub par 3 years ago. I have gotten undercooked and down right cold food and the portions are extreemly small. This year the shooting sports were under staffed, the emergency procedures are bad, and many of the toilet/shower houses were not stocked (zero TP and hand soap not even an empty bottle or roll)they were dirty and smelly, and appeared to have been over flowed, and had no working lights (on the 1st day of camp) when brought to the staff attention they blamed it on the scouts (ummm no not on DAY 1 of the summer).Not what I want for the scouts

Good place to get merit badges. It is very fun and will help you advance in boy scouts because otherwise it's hard getting all of the eagle required AND the regular ones because there's usually not counselorsb sitting right there. Also the food is very tasty. I recommend this place to all other troops.

haveing bin a scout for 5 years and a staff member for 4 years and counting i can say it is my favorite place on this planet. you wont find a better staff ANYWHERE.

Being there as both a scout and a staffer I can say that this is my favorite place on Earth and love being there. Nothing beats it.

having worked there two years now i can tell you have some of the best staff and best programs in the area. only one other nationally recognised boy scout camp has a fully operational blacksmithing forge ( the other being philmont scout ranch NM). --Garth---

It was really fun but if u cant stand being away from home a long time I wouldn't suggest you go but everyones really nice to you. Also the food is a lot better than normal camp food.
