My son was very nervous about being away from us for the first time. He had no problems adjusting thanks to his counselors. He made friends from many other states and can’t wait to go back. There were so many things to experience that he didn’t get to them all!

This is my son's happy place. The facilities are not posh (he also attended a camp once with nicer bathrooms and AC) but this is camp and that stuff doesn't matter. Things like the skateboard park, the mountain biking trail, and the whole Pisgah forest -- well those facilities are the ones that matter and they are first rate. My son always has a great time. The counselors are fantastic - caring, fun, goofy, and attentive.

My kids love Camp Carolina (CCB). If you want your boys to have the best summer ever, this is the camp for you. CCB provides a safe, exciting atmosphere for boys. Based on this camp's long successful history, I trust the professionals there to use their judgement as to when they should contact me if necessary.

My son has told me that next to Christmas his most favorite time of the year is ccb time! It has given him great confidence in himself and we have enjoyed knowing he's with a nice group of boys! Send your son there. You will not regret it!

Camp Carolina has a long history of developing boys character, exposing them to the outdoors and creating life long friendships. Boys learn independence, community living skills, and sportsmanship and are exposed to a variety of exciting activities. The program offers over 55 different activities and up to 10 trips out of camp each day. The younger boys as well as the older boys are offered these adventures on a daily basis. The counselors are amazing and come from all around the world to work with the campers many first year staff come up to five weeks before the campers arrive to begin their training. Camp Carolina is nestled in a small mountain valley in the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains.

The counselors were awesome. But the owners are not open to having a variety of boys at the camp. My son had no complaints, and we got nothing but glowing reviews from everyone after his 'intro' session, but when I sent the $ for next year (2012), the owner called and asked for extra $ because my child needed 'more attention'. When I asked what that attention was, he stated he needed to be reminded which session to go to next. Well, at seven, and it being his first time at sleep-away camp, I wasn't sure how asking more $ was justified. At any rate, we asked for our deposit check for 2012 to be returned, and we are now sending our son to a co-ed camp in PNF. Ultimately, the owners of CC are greedy, and very narrow. And our son did not come away with any connections.

My boys have been going for 5 summers in a row. The relationships developed and experiences are the reason we continue to go back. They will have it no other way. It is Boy Heaven. My son wrote something I will never forget about CC, it was a questionnaire by the camp that asked how CC may have helped him during the school year. He wrote that "sometimes when I am in a crowd of friends camp helps me remember who I am" , They are allowed to grow and explore within the safety net of outstanding caring counselors and the wonderful Thompson family. It doesn't disappoint. ever.

My son had a great time and just adored his counselor from England. Spent one day in the infirmary and they kept me very well informed. We will be back for sure!

My son (4 week session) was in the infirmary with 104.5 temp for 4 days and the camp did not call us till his last day in the infirmary. Found out from another family who's son went to Carolina for a two week session that their son was sick, in the infirmary, and they did not know it till camp was over. Seems odd that the camp would at least call the parents. Everyone gets a paddle no matter what you have done or what you have achieved. It was my sons first year and he said he knew he was going to get a paddle because everyone does. There were no goals to strive for or achievement levels. My son slept in his sleeping bag after the first week because counselor did not help him make his bed or counselor did not oversee the process. Camp seemed like the kids were having fun. My son seemed like he made some friends. No complaints from my son but...he also did not come away with any close contact or friends that he is staying in touch with. From the parents perspective, a poor experience.

The counselors are from diffeent countires and are keen and motivated, making them fantastic role models. The camp is rustiuc but it has a spirit about it that is undenyable. What a place!

This place is totally awesome. The staff are incredibly friendly and are from all over the world. There are many different activities to choose from including 3-4 out of camp trips per day including white water rafting. The food is delicious and well above that of most camps with emphasis on healthy yet tasty food.

Camp Carolina one of the greatest places I 've been. the staff are fantastic and the number of activitys they run are too countless to name. tucked away in a secluded vally Camp Carolina is a small slice of heaven on Earth.

Camp Carolina is excellent in all respects. They offer high adventure trips for all age groups every day. Every single boy gets to go white water rafting. The staff is mostly international and are well mannered and well trained.
