My son (then a rising 8th grader) attended one week of Kanata last summer. We were so impressed to be personally greeted by the friendly and warm staff upon arrival. The counselors helped us to the bunk in an orderly fashion, and quickly introduced themselves and made sure all of the kids were busy. The counselors were honestly wonderful!!! My son enjoyed a variety of activities during the week, came home singing camp songs and with perfect manners! Although we are Jewish, and this is a YMCA camp with Christian values, he was fine going with the flow.....All good values and respect for each other - he had a great time! Already signed him up for 3 weeks this summer!! My son mentioned that the food was good and the bunks were kept clean (or clean enough for being in a wooded area). I only wish all bunks had their own bathrooms....

I cannot imagine a better camp to send my kids too. They love it here and I love the values and ethics they help instill in my children. The staff is top notch and care about the kids and what they are doing. The price may seem high, but when you really look at what you are getting, it a great value. I feel completely secure knowing my kids are in capable hands while there.

The only reason I did not give the camp a 5 on facilites is because the cabins where the children stay could stand to be cleaner....when I dropped my children off to camp kanata this week I looked around the inside of the windows and saw spider webs and dead bugs....not really acceptable to me when it cost over $700 to send my child there for one week. Additionally the beds are right up to the windows so there you have it. THIS IS THE ONLY NEGATIVE I can think of....this is TRUELY one of the last remaining untouched camps of its kind that teaches the fundamentals of life without any influence from anyone. Good old christian values at its best !!!

Camp Kanata is so fun!! All the counselors are really nice and fun, and the activities are great! My only complaint is that the cabins are old and get really hot because they don't have any air conditioning or fans. Still, the camp in general is absolutely great!! I had a blast!
