Art, field, Music, Game room, and swim are only some of the activities and enjoyment. The staff makes sure everyones safe. The cost is 4 to 5 times cheaper than regular camps. CAMP APOLLO ROCKS!! Click to report rating    7/4/08   4     3     3     4     4   This camp is amazing to meet new friends from your neighborhood. The counselors are nice but are sometimes mean. Personal attention is avalible if you need it. After a while, some activites get boring, and some are always fun. Drama and music are not the best here, so if you are just looking for that, don't come here. There are games three game rooms which are spectacular depending on which one you go to. Tennis is one of my favorite activities at Apollo because you get to play the tennis coach for prizes. To sum it all up, the faculty is nice, the field trips rock, and Apollo gets better and better as you get older. One more thing! Before camp ends, you have a big carnival and everybody gets huge stuffed animals. I Love Apollo! AT TIMES! RID: 24568

Click to report rating    2/6/08   5     5     5     5     5   I have been going to apollo since i was 4, and to be honest, i love it so much. Teen Travel is amazing. You get to spend time with your friends, make new ones, and best of all go places where you normally wouldnt go with camps. The staff is amazing, and the trips are undescribable. RID: 19950
Click to report rating    1/12/08   3     2     4     4     5   Great value and a lot of fun, and after all that is what camp should be, fun!!!! RID: 18868
Click to report rating    12/17/07   3     5     3     2     5   The "older" camp at JFK High School is fabulous, all though there are a few problems. We seem to play the same activities every day, and it can be very boring. For the girls, all the counselours seem to want to do is make string bracelets-not my definition of "summer fun." My biggest problem with Apollo is that the female counselours ONLY give attention to the hyper, fun-loving girls, which can cause many of us to feel left out. They ABSOLUTELY play favorites, and only listen and pay attention to the "fun" girls. Other than that, Apollo is awesome! The trip are awesome and are well worth the money. RID: 18095

Click to report rating    9/8/07   5     5     5     5     5   As a camper of Camp Apollo for over 9 years id like to say this is the most amazing camp there is out there and the staff is incredible. They will show you the same amount of respect that you show them so if you for some reason think they dont care about your children then maybe your kids dont show respect for them. I would never go to another camp and my best memories come from the many summers at this camp. The travel program is great and filled with helpful and fun counslers. We travel on ac yellow buses and go everywhere along the northeast coast. I would never trade it for another camp and i plan to send my children there if i still live in plainivew RID: 15028
Click to report rating    8/14/07   5     5     5     5     5   It doesn't make a difference which program a camper is in, the staff are always willing to help you. They assist in trying to make your child their number one priority. The activities are varied and allow for everyone to participate. The cost is great! RID: 13960
Click to report rating    8/9/07   1     1     5     1     5   The camp Apollo teen program is okay. The counselors on the teen program are incompetent and not interested in the needs of all the campers. As long as no one gets hurt they don't care. They were basically lazy. The trips on the program are fun, especially the canada trip If you are younger, I would defintely suggest going to the regular camp because the activities are fun and the counselors care more about the kids then the counselors at the teen program RID: 13802
Click to report rating    7/6/07   5     5     5     5     5   great teen travel including many different trips. Theme parks, Broadway shows, parks, and water parks RID: 12775

Click to report rating    1/21/07   4     4     5     4     5   Everytime I go to camp I have an amazing time. I meet so many cool people and the counselors are always very nice. Some of my best memories will definently be from this camp, thank you for giving me one of the best experiences of my life. RID: 7048
Click to report rating    1/13/07   5     4     4     4     5   What a great value the camp is.... Private camps can cost 5 to 6 times more for what we pay for the teen travel camp RID: 6747
Click to report rating    9/27/06   4     5     4     5     4   I have been in the teen travel program and i had the best summer of my life. I will never forget this summer. They take you to so many interesting places and exciting amusement parks. There are 3 overnights a summer. This summer we went to virginia for 3 nights and 4 days. They took us to some of the major theme parks down there including busch gardens and kings dominon. Every summer the 3 night overnight rotates. They also take you to boston where we saw the blue man group which was halarious. The Supervision at this camp is increadable. When your in just the regular camp (not teen tour) i had a blast. you dont have to stay outdoors all day in the sun which i liked and swimming is indoors. i love this camp! i never wanted summer to end. RID: 3573
Click to report rating    8/6/06   2     1     2     2     2   Its okay, but not really a camp. Its held inside a school and the kids spend most of the day on buses traveling to activities. I think camp should be more of an outdoor experience and next yr I'll send my son to a camp with tons of outdoor activities(like a camp should be) Its not a bad place, its just not "campy". RID: 1846
Click to report rating    8/3/06   5     4     4     4     4   As a current camper at Apollo, I have to say that the past few summers have become my greatest memories, all thanks to this camp. The staff is friendly, we have great times on the trips, making new friends I wouldn't have known otherwise, and getting to do things I would have never otherwise done. If you're considering sending your kids to Apollo, it's definately worth it. RID: 1789
Click to report rating    4/10/06   4     3     3     4     5   All three of my kids with very different interests enjoy this camp. The trips are great and well supervised. They go to Splish Splash, a Broadway show, Medieval Times, Great Adventure just to name a few. Great deal for the money. I also like that they're not outside in the hot weather all day long. Swimming is held indoors so if it rains they don't miss it. RID: 116
Click to report rating    4/9/06   4     3     4     4     5   Boy are we Plainview-Old Bethpage residents lucky to have this camp. The kids get to meet others in their neighborhood. Not everyone cares to spend $10,000 - $15,000 (sometimes more) to send 3 kids to camp. The field trips are lots of fun for the kids and safety is priority 1 with Apollo. My boys enjoy Apollo very much. True the outdoor activities are limited, but in 90 degree plus weather in summer in NY, it is not so bad for kids especially with Asthma. I don't feel so bad if they skip a day or two every now and then because it is so much less expensive than other camps. RID: 110
Click to report rating    3/24/06   5     2     3     4     5   Great value for school district residents. Fantastic swim program. Lots of music, drama and art but very little outdoor play time. RID: 54
Click to report rating    3/12/06   5     3     5     4     5   Great district camp for Plainview-Old Bethpage residents. Facilities are housed in POB Middle school for younger kids, or JFK high school for older kids. Both facilities have indoor pools, but unfortunately no playgrounds. Six week program. Great value. We are lucky to have this program in our community!!! RID: 3
