This camp is excellent! I have two boys who have very different personalities, and yet they have both flourished here. My older son aged out this year, and thinks he may want to work there in the summer while in college. My younger son has spent three summers at Tekakwitha, and is excited to attend in 2017, having just finished his Explorateur session in 2016. The camping and hiking are incredible. My boys speak of the beauty, the fun theme nights, delicious food, and the time to think outside all year. Lovely camp! Excellent management.

I went to this camp last summer and got a stomach ache and barfed. Everybody there is French Canadian so for us who speak France French, it is hard to understand. The activities are boring and overcrowded. The food is horrible. One day we had to eat with our hands because it was "a medieval theme night".

Our son went to this camp for the first time last summer and was excited to be on the east coast since we live in California. He was 13 when he went to the camp. We read reviews and talked with the director and had assurances that this was a safe camp and a place that was inviting to kids who had not attended for several years in a row. My son said that his first two weeks were good but then the kids got mean and abusive and the counselor and camp staff could not control or manage it. Our son stuck it out but said it was an awful last two weeks and he would never go back. When we let the camp know about his experience they took months to respond to us and then finally let us know that the bully's parents were called during the camp session but not the kids parents who's kids were being bullied. I asked for the director to have a phone call with my son to explain why he wasn't protected during his camp month long stay and although the director offered to do that he has never done it.

Ilove this camp ! Last year, there was a girl in my cabin that came from Venezuela ! She couldn't speak french at the beginning, only english and spanish. It was very hard for her but at the end of the month, she was perfectly speaking french ! She loved it and she's coming back next year, and so am I.

There is something magic about that camp. My daughter loved her summer there and is looking forward to go back next year. The best!

This camp is AWESOME!! I went there as a kid for 9 years and now i have been working there for 2. It's simply the best- camping, a nice lake (Androscogin), many sports and activities and a special hiking programs for teenagers of 14 to 16 in the AT of Maine. Its simply beautiful and a great way to learn french, as it is a Quebec Camp set in the states.
