Click to report rating    8/23/17   5     5     5     5     5   I attended Hoofbeat for many years as a camper and then worked there for 5 years as a staff member. Hoofbeat is filled with amazing people and horses, absolute favorite place in the world! I miss it like crazy! Someday when I have kids I hope I can send them to camp so they can create amazing memories there just like I did! Highly recommend!! RID: 51273

8/6/16   5     5     5     5     5   Our girls LOVE Hoofbeat! It is by far their favorite thing of the summer. The programs are well organized, safe and fun. Each year our daughters grow in their horseback riding skill & confidence. What a wonderful place to spend a portion of your summer! RID: 49896
Click to report rating    8/6/16   5     5     5     5     5   I sent my daughter to Hoofbeat and she loved it! I had gone to Hoofbeat as a child and couldn't wait for my daughter to share the experience. Hoofbeat is a home away from home and has many campers that return year after year and are shaped by their experience at this camp. The leadership is excellent, the horses are safe and gentle and the camp food is good too! I would recommend this camp as a safe place to send any horse loving girl! RID: 49891
Click to report rating    8/4/16   5     5     5     5     5   I attended this camp for many years, from 7-14, and I greatly enjoyed my time there. Each year, my confidence, knowledge, and skill with horses increased. By the end of my sessions, I always felt a bond with my fellow campers as well as staff, and look forward to returning the following year. The activities and games were fun, and consistent with what you would expect from a summer camp. Despite attending other camps throughout the years, Hoofbeat will always be my second home. I eagerly anticipate the day I can send my own children to this camp. RID: 49881
Click to report rating    7/6/16   3     3     1     3     3   I went there and on my first day I was just walking in a circle on a horse but I lope at my normal farm this is 1% out of 5% RID: 49741
Click to report rating    7/5/16   2     3     2     2     4   My daughter has gone to this camp for 4 years and had always had a wonderful experience until this past trip. Unfortunately, she was mis-categorized in her initial riding test and was placed in a beginning riding group - the same group that she was placed in for her very first year of camp. It was a big bummer for her and her riding did not improve at all during the 2 weeks she was at camp. No firm decision yet for next year but we are looking into other riding camps which is too bad because I have been such a strong supporter of HoofBeat in the past. RID: 49735
Click to report rating    6/6/16   5     5     5     5     5   Hoof beat is just an awesome camp. The staff are caring and the activities are really fun. This is my second year at Hoof beat and I am so excited. I reccomend this camp to every horse lover out there. RID: 49645
Click to report rating    7/9/13   5     5     5     5     5   I started Hoofbeat a little bit later then most but I was accepted by groups that have been friends with each other for years!!! The horses were all amazing and really well trained and tolerant! My riding instructor was SO nice and really understood everyone! The only thing is, is that the first year I was put in the highest level of riding and the next year they moved me down! I had a lot of fun in my riding lessons but I was not at all challenged! I loved Hoofbeat and can't wait for next summer! RID: 45078

Click to report rating    1/2/09   5     5     5     5     5   Hoofbeat is seriously the most amazing place in the whole world! I am going for my sixth year this summer. All the people there are so nice and fun and I feel so at home there. The horses are all amazing and all the camp activities are tons of fun. I recommend this camp to everyone! RID: 28304
Click to report rating    7/27/08   5     5     5     5     5   I arrived home yesterday from Hoofbeat and am already mentally packing for next year. Hoofbeat is an amazing network of friends. you really feel like part of the family. I've met people as many as six years ago there and we are still keeping in touch. The staff are always on top of their campers, making sure everyone is having a good time and feeling okay. If someone seems down, you can bet that a cabinmate, counselor, or friend will notice and try to help them. All the staff are fantastic people, who treat the kids like real people and try hard to develop true relationships with the campers during their stay. Everyone is always smiling, especially our fantastic Camp and Barn Directors, and RIT/CIT Masters. Nurse Nancy is great and provides terrific health care to all staying at camp. The wonderful horses are diverse enough to cater to every level of experience. The meals are awesome, real homemade comfort food. And as a vegetarian at Hoofbeat, I never have to worry about food. Click to report rating    7/26/08   5     5     5     5     5   Hoofbeat is my home. I just got back from camp today and am already saving my money for next year. I cried when I got home because I wanted to stay with the horses, staff and my friends staying longer. my parents don't pay for me to go but I save every penny. Hoofbeat is a special community. The meals are amazing and always have other options, especially for the vegitariens. They have lots of different horses, but all are great. They teach you how to be safe and have fun at the same time. Hoofbeat is one of a kind and truly something else. Haley Jo RID: 25135
Click to report rating    7/13/08   5     5     5     5     5   Hoofbeat is the most amazing place in the entire world. Most of the staff were campers there themselves which makes them even better and more understanding. The facilities are very nice with indoor plumbing. Each and every camper gets individual attention and this camp is very inexpensive. I was a camper at Hoofbeat for 6 years and I have just completed my 2 years as a RIT (Riding Instructor in Training) and will be returning next summer as a member of the staff. Hoofbeat becomes a part of every girl's life who is lucky enough to spend time there. They have horses for all types of riders from beginner to advanced. And the food is great too! I can't imagine what my summers would be like without Hoofbeat, and quite frankly, I don't want to. I just got home yesterday and I miss it so much already! If you are considering going to Hoofbeat I highly recommend it! RID: 24795
Click to report rating    1/2/08   5     5     5     5     5   Hoofbeat is my favorite place EVER! I've been going for four years and I've made some really great friends there. I love the horses and everything else about it. I always hate to leave because it's so fun and I don't want it to end. RID: 18544
Click to report rating    9/29/07   5     5     5     5     4   Hoofbeat is awesome!!! I've gone there for 4 years and I want to be a RIT sooo badly. I meet new people every year, and they all want to be friends. I can't imagine not going back there. It would be such a fun place to work!!! The only thing that isn't perfect is that it is expensive and you have to do chores, but that is a part of horse care, and is DEFINATELY worh it!!! I'd recommend it to anyone who has any interest in horses at all. By the time you leave, you will want to spend more time with horses at home. The counselors are awesome and know how to have a good time. I love it there! RID: 15676

Click to report rating    6/16/07   5     5     5     5     5   This camp is awsome. My daughter wants to come back of a month next summer she enjoyed it so much. They teach so much. She is skilled in horseback riding now when the first time she bearly knew what todo. I recommend this camp to any girl interested in horses. RID: 12084
Click to report rating    5/11/07   5     5     5     5     5   I was there when boys were still allowed.. but not enough boys remained interested. Amazing, caring counselors helped me despite my physical disability, and there was games of capture the flag, soccer, campfires, a beautiful ribbon ceremony, and the horses. Everyone has their favorites. As for the bullying comment, I know that that is an issue at some camps for some people. Just bring up horses or a book you've read or ask the counselors for help. --Sam, age 21 RID: 10720
