I sent my child here, and mid-summer pulled him out and sent him to another day camp about a mile away. The staff does not care, nor is it worth the price. With a price that high, you expect certain returns and at Banner we did not get that. The facilities are great but not traditional summer camp style. There are better camps on the North Shore..much better.

I have just read all the testistimonials and I felt the need to respond. I just had my first summer at Banner and I honestly cannot thing of a single bad thing about it. I was on staff(group counslor) and it changed my life. Every staff member is there to help eachother with anything and everything. Leadership is amazing. They can do 1000 things at once. Everyone at Banner Day Camp cares about eachother. The staff absolutly loves the children and love to give them the best summer. I saw a lot of people saying "bannerrama has to go" bannerrama serves to get the clods ready for the day and then it raps up the day. It is one of the highlights and super fun. The facilities are unmatched. Rambling now. In closing banner is an amazing magical place unlike any other. I would recommend it to anyone.

I sent my child there a few years ago. He is now a teenager and we started talking about summer jobs and i mentioned banner as a place to work. He responded that he hated it very much. Odd because i was under the impression he loved it. He said the only fun times at camp was when we were there to watch. Staff was very rude and mean to him, and they did not care for the kids. Parents you amy think you child loves this camp, but talk to them in a few years and they will tell you how much they hated it. truly an awful place.

Where do I begin? As a parent who pays thousands of dollars for their child to attend camp and is promised a more than perfect day every time their kid gets picked up by the bus, all i have to say is that after meeting the staff and front office personnel and seeing first hand how they conduct business, treat their employees and make empty promises to campers i will never be able to send my son to such a place ever again. He would tell how kids would bully him in his group and all his counselor would do was tell leadership who would then do nothing but promise him a baseball card the following day if he were to stop crying. upon visiting the camp grounds i do have to say that it is beautifully maintained and have some top of the line equipment for games and activities, however no amount of equipment will be able to heal my sons feelings left by this summer he had at Banner.

My daughter has attended for four years. She loves Banner and looks forward to helping out as a CIT. The activities are first rate and my observation as a parent confirms that activities seem to last a bit longer. The trips away from camp, overnights and camp spirit are inspiring, but my daughter's smile after CIT training this year is priceless.

What a great place! The staff is truly incredible. The individual attention my daughter received really helped make her a more confident and outgoing person. She started the summer SO shy and I loved seeing her smiling face when she jumped off the camp bus. She keeps asking me how many more days until camp starts again! This camp is truly worth the money. I have recommended it to my friends and neighbors. We love Banner!

Really terrible camp - they don't care about the kids, just about how much $$ they can make in a summer. At all the other camps in the area, kids swim 2x per day but not at Banner! And, while the activities sound great in the brochure, each kid is allowed to do each thing once per week, for about a minute apiece. so once they've waited and waited and waited, they have 60 seconds before they have to stop the activity. And, they are such cheapskates! They refused to give my child a hot dog at cookout, saying, "well, your mom didnt pay for it" - a hot dog they couldn't give her! Cheapskates -- especially for the MOST expensive camp on the North Shore. Please take my advice - save your money and go somewhere else!

My daughter's self esteem soared after one summer at this camp. They really strive to teach respect and build confidence, and succeed.

Winter break ended about a week ago, my kids are begging me "when can we go back to Banner?" every day they play their cd and pretend to lead Bannerama! my son says he is going to stay and be a counselor when he is old enough. They just love it! I have never seen my kids so connected and in love with anything else they have participated in. Banner Day Camp - you have the magic!

WHERE DO I BEGIN? HATED the whole experience, I was a CIT and my family had to pay thousands of dollars just so I could do all the work and not have any fun with a group of snobby little 7 year olds. In the orientation, they make it sound so great but really it's a nightmare. All together I did more work than both of my C and JC. Oh and watch out for Bannerama, the worst part of the day. An hour of your kid's life every day down the drain. Please listen to me! Don't give any more money to Banner and save your child.

We are coming close to our 3rd year for our daughter and our first for our son. Our 3 1/2 year old learned to swim....yes swim on his own. My 7 1/2 year old continues to enjoy friendships she made 3 years ago. The staff is hard to beat anywhere...they actually ENJOY what they do and it shows. Our bus is ON TIME each and every single day. Our kids come off sweaty, happy, and ready to get going for another day. If you have a problem - they solve it and work hard at solving it. Our kids talk about being in leadership and owning the camp. They enthusiastically wear their Banner clothes with pride (and sometimes when they need a break - they just don't wear it - and the camp is perfectly fine with that too!). Each day is an adventure and while we know they love it right now, they will someday ask to go to overnight camp but we know they will likely return to put all of their Banner spirit to work for a child searching out friendship, fun,and more. This camp is well worth the cost!

My child attended this camp for one session of four weeks. The camp staff promised that the bus journey to camp would be a fun time where the kids were entertained and supervised - this is not true, they were left totally to their own inappropriate devices. The activities look great but they only have the chance to do each of them once or twice - such as the lake. Bannerama was, for my slightly shy child, a totally boring waste of a sunny day - seemed to be the staff telling themselves how great they all are. This camp is for extrovert kids.

Way too expensive for what the kids get. We started going way north in Wisconsin for the best - even if it does cost twice as much.

Great Camp... You do have to have a fat check for Alan Schwartz, otherwise you get to go on trips, and hang out with your friends and closer ones. I've been going there since 2004. My friend has been going there since 2001. The bad part is that you have to wear Banner Clothes every day, so everyone is equal (ya right)

This is our families fourth year at Banner Day Camp, we love the staff and the personal attention our children recieve from them! There is no doubt Banner's staff are what makes the difference! Our children have already said that when they are to old to be campers, they want to become counslors...

Excellent experience! We are now sending our third child our "baby" she is just three years old... I wish we sent our two older ones to Banner when they were younger, we were concerned about rumors that the camp was so big, it turns out what we have learned first hand, is that Banner's super low staff to child ratio, especially at the younger ages gives our children an experience that even a smal cam cannot equal! The personal attention is remarkable and Banner's attention to details is beyond what words can describe.

Very expensive. Bannerama has got to go..especially for tween boys. This is why so many do not want to go back. Other kids in other camps make fun of the boys because of Bannerama. They should have something else for the older boys. They also need to think of new ideas. My son went for 5 years. Every year, every Friday was the same "special". Come on guys, put on the thinking caps and think of something new! Also, don't advertise that the kids have so much fun on the bus because the counselors do things like sing songs etc. For 5 years...this never happened. The food was good...but they are stingy for the kids. They get 6 nuggets...then for seconds, they get like 2. A tween boy is growing and needs a little more then that. Even a "scoop" of Mac and Cheese or Most. This camp costs a lot of money and I think the kids deserve a little more. That is why we are not back...along with many others.

A little on the expensive side, but the facilities are outstanding and the program is very strong for the campers. The camp is HUGE, but it is very well organized and the campers get an excellent experience. The biggest problem is that the administration is really out of touch with their staff, and does very little to facilitate staff retention or reward good work.
