No camp presents better in terms of summer offerings. Despite the cost, the opportunities for academic courses in the midst of outstanding summer activities makes it a compelling choice. However, between two kids, many of the classes were cancelled, with little or no notice. One of my daughters was assigned to a group of all boys for her activities. No communication from camp leadership, or direction to the kids. Terribly disappointed and will not be sending my kids back.

My boys have attended Ranney Summer Camp in 2010 & 2011. The cost was compariable to Seashore but Ranney was closer for us. This year Ranney sent out a letter offering returning families 20% off last year's prices. In the end, Ranney raised their prices from 2011 early bird price by 27% percent. After they admitted to their mistakes, they gave us one week free. Now I find out they are offering one week free to anyone who registers. We spoke to the director, and she said there's nothing they can do. So we are paying for Ranney's mistakes...which 4 people had reviewed the letter that went out to the returning families. Ranney suggested I can reduce my cost by doing one less week! Hard to do when both parents work and need a full day camp that isn't a day care.

Ranney in the Summer is a great summer program. The campus is pretty and the activities are plentiful. Because it is an excellent private school as well, the summer academic offerings are excellent. Kids can take classes in the morning and go to camp in the afternoon. Many of the summer teachers are also full time teachers at the school and are extremely qualified.
