My 12-year-old daughter just came back from two weeks of adventure in Maine and New Hampshire. Sea kayaked all day and spent the night on an island, hiked hut to hut on the Appalachian Trail, 4th of July fireworks in Bar Harbor, rock climbing, biking, and strong bonding with other group members and leaders. It's not cheap but you're paying for experienced and safety conscious instructors, organized and seasoned outfitters, and a guarantee of a good experience for those who come with a good attitude. My girl was not a hiker before she left. We live 2 minutes from a state park and could never convince her to go. Now that's all she wants to do. A meaningful two weeks that will stay with her for a while, and I think it's given her perspective on what's really important in life. Fortification to face the drama of middle school again in the Fall, knowing that she's challenged herself, made new friends, and knowing the real meaning of the word beauty. Rain, challenges, fun, friends!

At the beginning i wasn't havin a great time but that was because the airport lost my luggage so i was pretty upset...but after we got my bags and by the third campsite i was having a great time...the camp sites were so much fun (especially the beach one...lol) Wind and Waves was great and now i really want to go back...surfing was the best part...WIND AND WAVES '07 was amazing <3
