My daughter came home with a huge horse bite and no one called me about it. Beware of untrained staff. It’s simply unsafe.

This overnight summer camp accepts transgender kids without any socioemotional support in place nor do they have facilities to accommodate them. Completely unequipped and untrained staff to handle difficult situations that come up. Andee (director) is verbally abusive towards kids and is untrained in meeting the needs of transgender or boy/girl identifying children. They also do not know the difference between transgender and gay. They will however take your money and your kid. No communication between camp and parents in case of disciplinary actions. Do not send your kid here without asking some serious questions, especially if your child is transitioning or identifies as opposite gender

i love this camp! swimming hiking, clean, ridding horses, and orgonised! what more could a kid want... but they need new toilets that don't brake down every second, more rides, new activities, and more showers (because there is up to 70 kids per room and only 4 showers, and only one hour to shower!) but over all this camp is amazing,i would liove to come here more often!

I went last year and i liked that camp. The kids were nice and so were the staff. (Most of them anyways) The thing that I absolutely hated that they didn't tell us about the bed bug infestation because it invested my house for at least a month. It was very bed. I remember waking up and seeing a bunch of bed bugs on the ceiling.i literally screamed and the staff wouldn't allow me of the other girls who had bed bugs in their bunks to tell anyone. I did anyways. Lots of the girls in my cabin went home. It was only the cabin for the older girls too. And the boys sleep on top of the barn. GO figure. I was even though the activities were fun. Lots of it was ruined because i couldn't sleep at night and i am now terrified of the bed bugs. I wouldn't go again but if you do send your kid there make sure to ask about any infestations that they may or may not have (And pushed them because they might not tell you the truth)

I went for a week last year, now this year for two weeks! I LOVED the camp and everything we did. I disagree with what other people are saying! Everyones super nice, no one is ever bullied, and we can talk to councilors anytime. they also have a no bullying policy, if you bully someone they will send you home. Also they dont have bed bugs!! im not trying to be mean but they are wrong. WHITE PINES RANCH IS AWESOME!!

My daughter attended this camp for a week and came back all smiles. She really enjoyed all the things they did and loved riding the horses. She said the counselors were very nice and so were the other children. However at the end of the week i was alerted there was a bed bug problem. I do think they handled that ok but they could have done a better job, like cleaning the clothes instead of sending them home to infest my house. Overall the camp seemed very fun and clean and i would send my daughter back.

We've been to this camp before for weekend Girl Scout trips and had a great time. My daughter just got back from a week-long summer camp at White Pines and said that she had fun, was constantly busy, the food was okay, and she had made some good friends. However, the camp sleeping area was infested with BED BUGS and we weren't notified until the day before picking up the campers. The parents were responsible for disinfecting the kids. The camp had no remorse. Too bad. If it weren't for the bugs and the poor handling of the situation, I would give White Pines Ranch much higher marks.

My 2 kids went to this camp many yrs ago, about 10. My daughter was about 12 and my son about 8. They had been to other camps before this and many after. They loved all the other camps and went back to them year after year, but HATED this one! They said the other kids were horrible, very mean! My son who was very shy at the time was made fun of the whole time he was there by all the other boys and the counselors knew it and did nothing. They heard the kids calling him names like "fat ass" and did nothing. No one talked to him or befriended him the whole time there. Worst childhood experience. He was a only little chunky too, can you imagine what they would have done to a kid who was really overweight?! My daughter said the same about the girls, very snobby and mean! This camp was also a little more expensive at the time then some of the other camps they went to so maybe they should have used some of that money to get better help or better trained the ones they had. Hope it's changed.
