Sternberg is the best camp ever from the first day i was there i loved it!! Going back!! Met so many amazing, awesome friends. Counselors were the best even those who weren't my counselor. Highly recommend

Sternberg is amazing it definitely changed since those reviews from 2008 there is such a variety of girls no more messed up crazies who are accepted randomly there’s a lot of 5 towns and pasaic people they have amazing activities each division gets something special like campus has bungee jumping pioneers has atving and the rock walls and the zipline heller ?????? Lisboa have segways and the lake for all divisions has an amazing waterpark and boats the food is ok but what do you expect from camp food.

I can sum up Camp Sternberg in two words: "I'm obsessed." Camp is the most amazing place. It completely changed my life. I have so many amazing friends and staff members, and the "the memories live on..". Iy''H, I'm coming back this year for my fifth year, and I'm upset I couldn't start coming earlier than I did. The staff is so incredible. I still learn with my Pioneer Aide, and I recently danced at my shiur (shayur ;)) counselor's wedding (and at my DHs, and at my head counselor's...). I made such amazing friends at camp - really the sweetest girls. All different types, and not cliquey. Yeah, the showers and bunks might be not like in a first-class hotel, but as we say: "how do you know which camp is king? ooh wah ooh wah ooh wah ay the one with air conditioning? no no no no no no way the one with carpets on the floor?
chas v’shalom oy oy vey Sternberg, we live outdoors!" So, I really love camp, and you should all come!!! :)

BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD!! Not only do you have blast(which you do- all the activities are not normally AWESOME!!!) but you make real true friends and come home feeling like a much better person than you did coming in. The people here are truly special people and you learn so much from every one of your friends and staff members. There is nowhere like Sternberg. I honestly dont know what i would do without it! Sternberg rocks my nanananakneesocks!!:)

Sternberg is the most amazing place in the whole entire world! I have nothing- zero to say bad about it! It completely completely changed my life for the good as it did so many others! It builds your friendships, makes you feel important, teaches you positive attitude, helps you get through life's hard challenges, teaches you to have a beautiful balance of being independent yet dependent at the same time, it teaches you how to live in the wilderness and it also makes you have an amazing experience- fun and a growing environment!

Camp sternberg was horrible! the girls there were messed up and they all had ipods w/bad music and videos.All the actvities weresuper dumb and boring.i would never recommend it for anyone!!! DO NOT GO THERE!!!!

I LOVE CAMP STERNBERG!!! this camp is the best camp ever. It helpeed me find who I am and made me into a much better person. I made my best friends in camp! they are the ones I turn to if i need something during the year, they are the ones I can rely on. I love it there!!! It is also TONZZZ of fun!!! Im going back this yr for my 7th summer and i cant wait!!! The hiking, trips, activities.. AHHHH!!!you learn so many important things about respecting ppl, positive attitude, doing the right thing....!! The staff there really cares about you and you really feel special and cared for individually, nobody judges you there and you can be who you want to be. And your friends respect you for making the right decisions. im going to be staff in pioneers this year and i cant wait to give back what i got!! If your thhinking of going to sternberg PLEASE DO!!! itll be the best decision of ur life!! remember to go in with a positive attitude and youll LOVE IT!! best summer of you life GUARENTEED!!

this was my first yr in sternberg as a junior. i loved it!!! the counclers r gr8 there r soooo many nice girls and all different types from really modern to very yeshivish. we had the most awesome DH. the food is not so bad ya the showers and bathrooms r absolutely gross but thats just camp. I had the best time ever so many ppl care about u. cant wait until next summer see u there!!

ive been going to sternberg for 7 years and i LOVE it the staff is amazing and are always makeing sure the campers are haveing a good time its already february and im still talking about camp i keep up with all my camp friends and staff. ur right that its not the cleanest camp in the world buts thats the camp experience i convinced a lot of my friends to go to sternberg and they all loved it.sternberg made me realize who i am and what i can do-who would ever think of climbing a mountain? btw if you want to feel accomplished climb a mountain its a really good feeling if you want to experience something thats one of a kind-go to sternberg its worth ur money.cant wait to see you all there-137 days till camp!!i cant wait :)

i went for two years and hated it i only went the second time cuz of my friends. the grounds r disgusting, the activities until pioneers are boring and very lame, and the camp gives u no attention. those who rated this and said sternberg is the only frum camp with such a variety of girls well gues again. i've been to other camps and they have more variety of girls. i also no from friends that u don't know even ur whole age group i go to a camp where everyone in the camp knows at least 95%of the camp from doing activities with them. i think ppl should think about what they r saying maybe sternberg has a variety but its def not the only one. don't comment if ur biased. counsleours and head staff don't care about u and u can't even talk to your family at all.

i have been going to sternberg for 11 years so i've experienced it as both a camper and a staff member.there is no place like sternberg. no other camp has such a large group of girls from so many dif backgrounds and on so many dif levels. yet everyone is accepted for who they really are, not what they can do or how they dress. the activities are unique and a blast and a half! you do things you would never dream you could ever do. i met my closest and truest friends in camp. the staff focuses on the individual needs of every camper and i (as well as my fellow staff members) love each one of my kids. sternberg helped me discover who i was and who i wanted to be, then helped me get there. there is no camp like sternberg. it's not just a place to go for vacation. it's so much more than that. the bugs and dirt don't really matter when you're having the TIME OF YOUR LIFE! i went to sternberg for 3 years and i loved it. i went for freshies- going into 4th grade and 5th grade, sophies- going into 6th grade, and juniors- going into 7th grade. it was sssooo much fun. people come from everywhere. you meet new girls and have fun! Hope you try it!

sternberg is amazing, no joke i went there for 5 summers and have done 10 things... so far. all from younger pio and up. its the only frum camp with such a variety of girls of all types from all backrounds. everyone is excepted there are all sorts of programs that all run together like a kiruv program and mishkon for severely retarted kids and then kehsher for special needs kids and theres a learning center for kids who will fall behind in school without reviewing the work over the summer or if you want to get ahead in your class or s/t. either way no one in any program is looked down upon and there are all types of girls yeshiveish, modern ortho, hearing impared, handicapped ....and on and on cuz it doesn't matter where your from or what you look like. in sternberg its all about how you interact with other people to give youself and everyone around the best summer ever. IN CASE YOU COULD'T TELL I'M OBSESSED!!!1

camp grounds and ficilities are disgusting, showers and toilets are even worse, the health dept should shut them down, the only reason they are still around is because they're the only modern ortho all girls camp in the area. they dont allow kids to ever call parents that is so old fashioned and irresponsible.

I happen to be speaking from a pretty solid point of view, since this coming summer will be my eleventh summer going to Sternberg. What's amazing about this camp, whether you're in campus, pioneers, heller, or a staff member, is the unique sense of achdus, unity, that's felt around the camp. The philosophy of the camp since its very beginning is that each individual that comes to camp is valued not only, as with other camps, through her talents, skills, acting or singing abilities, or anything else that would typically make someone a celebrity in other camps- talents and skills are all definitely valued here and used- but the main value in camp is not "what you can do," but WHO YOU ARE: your qualitites, midos, being a good person who can work with other people. there are no hierarchies in this camp. and thats an unblieveable amazing thing. everyone's friendly, everyone works together. I've seen such devoted staff members, such care. take my word for it- this is a good place!

Who would ever thought I would go canoeing down the Delaware River, repelling down a mountain, sleeping in a tent for a month? This summer will be my 3rd summer in Sternberg and I am sooo excited!! Since I have returned last August from Older Pioneers, I haven't stopped talking about Camp! Yes, the bathrooms and showers are a bit gross and there are quite a few bugs...but that's all part of the camp experience. Sternberg has helped me grow as a person inside and out. I have met all different kinds of girls from all over the world that I would never get the chance to meet otherwise. My closest friends are ones that I met in camp. Camp and home are two seperate world to me that do not mix. You can go to sternberg, forget all your troubles and problems and just...HAVE FUN! It is definitly an experience of a lifetime!! I recommend it to everyone and anyone!!!

This camp is amazing. I can't say it enough, so you'll just have to think. Absolutely incredible, at least once you get to Pioneers [campus isn't so good - PIONEERS ROCK THE HOUSE!!!]. Camper for 5 years, now I'm staff - it's great. Everyone do Archery!

hi my name is yael and last summer was my first time going to camp sternberg/heller.all i can say is:ive never had a better summer in my life.its now november-3 months since camp ended-and im still talking abt camp to my friends.i still keep in touch with almost all my camp friends and i just spoke to 4 of them in the past 2 days.its an AMAZING CAMP if u expect it to be.yes ok the showers r cold and the bunks r alittle dirty but thats wat makes camp fun.i am ssoooo happy i went to sternberg and i recommend it to EVERY1.it dsnt matter wat type of person u r, EVERY1 makes friends ther.there were kids from all diff. types of schools and all different backgrounds and thats wat i loved most about that camp. every1 accepts u there 2.u hav no idea wat a gr8 camp it is until u go there.i made friends from texas israel ny maryland seattle canada... and i took 497 pictures.wen i got bak home on the last day of camp i couldnt stop crying for days.its a once in a lifetime experience.

I went to sternberg for 7 years ( sophies , juniors, youger ,older, and heller , watiress i did twice and i was also an office worker in the mail room if i hadn't found out about this camp i would of not of made as many friends as i did in sternberg i probaly would be at home durign the summer sternberg is the best camp ive been too and i hope it will continue to be that way . Sternberg is an amazing camp, it's definitely worth a try. The staff, campers, activities, and everything is amazing and keeps campers entertained every second of the day yet allows them certain time for rest. I have just returned from my first summer at Camp Sternberg, having completed the Younger Pioneers program. I loved it so much, really, I just loved everything about it. I've been gone for only about eight hours and I missed it the minute I left. As soon as one grows up and learns not to faint at the sight of a spider, tick, occasional cold showers (yes, I've had many good showers), or whatever it may be, Sternberg is amazing. Defiinitely returning for Older Pioneers and Heller, wish I had come for Campus. Overall, Sternberg is an awesome camp, staff, activities, and everything included; definitely recommended!

The different division heads don't know what is going on in any other division. They make up rules (no bringing water - you must buy from the camp) and some campers are allowed to break the rules and some aren't. When a camper is unhappy no one bothers to find out why or even to alleviate the problem. I found that there is not enough individual attention to the campers.

Sternberg may not be the richest (chandeliers hanging from the ceilings like raninu or chedva) or the most comfortable (shira, chedva, raninu...) but it sure is the best- flies, mosquitoes, daddy longlegs, bears, ticks and all. I've been gooing for five years so far and plan to keep going. I work in the zoo! My jappy sis went too. She was convinced she'd hate it even before she arrived based on all the NEGATIVE FEEDBACK she'd heard from her friends. She spent a week there and loved it. She eventually got used to the bugs that even now if there's a bug in our room- she's the "brave" one who kills it. Sternberg rocks. Everyone else can just quit arguing the obvious. Let it go, guys. No other camp's got anything on it.

Sternberg is AWSOME! I went for Older Pioneers, Heller, and will be working there this coming summer. They were the best summers of my life! The counslers and sups are excellent and attentive, the activities were fun, and hey, the food wasn't that bad! The showers and bathrooms? Kind of gross in pioneers, but it's the kind of camp you sign up for, so deal with it! They weren't things that would put off my whole summer. It's a beautiful place, and although the lake is pretty, don't swim in it!

i really like this camp.the only problem is the toilets,showers and food.in pioneers showers and toilets are not in your bunk house its in either a outhouse or showerhouse.the toilets get stuffed and over flow its NASTY!

Camp Sternberg is tons of fun, with great counselors, division heads, coordinators, and other staff. The grounds are gorgeous, with a beautiful lake and forest. Although it's not modern, the cabins are great for the outdoorsy type as are the activities. All in all, a GREAT camp.
