Click to report rating    9/1/19   3     1     4     2     2   I went to this camp for 2 years and never went back after the week twin 9 YEAR OLDS were almost raped by one of the 16 year olds. I have never seen a girl look more scared in her life. Teens have to change i to swimsuits in front of the little girls! I have self harm scars from years ago and the counsellors didnt give a crap. They made me change in the room with every one else. I was scared when a girl 2 years older then me looked at me with just a towel around me and smirked sexually. Im sorry but no. My little 13 year old self never changed so fast in my life. I was so scared, I couldn't even eat the next morning. I cried to my counsellor and she just stood their not knowing what to do! Like you should know what to do! Girls put dirty pads and tampons on the door handle to our cabin which was flippin gross. And anothet threw my bible across the cabin. My counsellors told me i wasnt allowed to have it out! My religion was denied their! Your daughter will be groomed their. DONT GO EVER RID: 52870
Click to report rating    3/5/16   5     5     5     5     5   What some girls don't understand is this camp is outdoors. It is a REAL outdoors camp and not one that has 5 star toilets and cars to transport you. Yes, there are loads of bugs and yes, the camp bathrooms are not the best, but this is all a part of camp. There is a lot of walking involved which I think is actually pretty nice. There are counselors from different countries, mostly the United Kingdom and all around America, and they are extremely kind. The nurse won't send you home unless you have already arranged to be picked up early or you are contagiously sick. They prepare you for the real world, you cant get everything you want. Depending on the camp you chose they put you in different housing. There are loads of activities to do, including swimming, hiking, crafts, sports, and even canoeing. This is the best camp I have ever been to and I have been going for 7 years. I have always had a good experience, even when I was sick. Staff is accommodating and they teach life lessons. RID: 49457
Click to report rating    4/2/13   5     5     5     5     5   I love camp conowingo!!! I attended camp here for 9 years, and I loved every second of it. It is a great experience and I have great memories of it. I got to go backpacking and caving and white water rafting. I learned to cook over a fire and how to sing funny songs. I think everyone should attend a summer camp at least once! RID: 44161
Click to report rating    3/24/13   5     5     5     5     5   I have always enjoyed coming back to Camp Conowingo year after year! I have made so many great friends that I continue to go to camp with to this day! Also, I love all the counselors they have hired through the years. Camp names are probably one of my favorite parts. It adds pizazz to your week. I am also obsessed with camp songs and that's a major part of your week. You sing and in going and outgoing at meal times and just sing songs randomly for fun! There are so many different things to do at camp. Depending on which session you sign up for and your age, you can swim, climb on the rock climbing wall, participate in ropes courses, go to the beach, travel through Pennsylvania, make arts and crafts, and SO MUCH MORE! I really suggest sending your daughter to Camp Conowingo. You will make friends and memories that will last a lifetime. RID: 44063
Click to report rating    3/23/13   5     5     5     5     5   My daughter and many of her friends have been going to camp at Conowingo for the past 9 years. My daughter LOVES camp and every year begs to go for several weeks. We've always been able to allow this because their rates are so extremely reasonable for an overnight camp. Every summer she rekindles the past summers friendships and every summer she makes even more friends. Camp at conowingo isn't a luxury vacation so its not for everyone but I'd encourage everyone to give it a try. Some of the camp staff are here from other countries and the girls have always loved learning about other lifestyles. Camp has had an amazing influence on the confident, capapble, independent daughter we've raised and summers at conowingo have played a huge roll in helping her become the amazing young lady she is today. The staff cares about these girls and their goal is to help them learn new thngs and have funning doing so. RID: 44058
Click to report rating    3/21/13   5     4     5     5     5   I was a camper here for over 10 years, and it is my favorite place in the world. The counselors are always tentative to their campers, and the girls will learn about what it takes to be a scout while having so much fun and making memories that will stay with them all year long. The best part of camp, in my opinion, is that you can make friends and impressions based on your character; it does not matter how much money your parents make, where you live, what grades you get, all that matters is who you are. The friends I have made at camp I made based on character, and they are the best friends I have ever had. I highly suggest enrolling in this camp, because the benefits will outweigh the cost, any possible skepticism, and any doubt you may have. RID: 44038
Click to report rating    3/21/13   5     5     5     5     5   I went to his camp for nearly ten years as a camper and now I am returning as a counselor. I love going to camp; the staff loves to have a good time and make sure that the kids enjoy their time at camp. The girls get to go swimming everyday, they get opportunities to ride horses, climb the ropes course, and take a break from reality. That is my favorite part of camp. I love this place and the friends I have made over the years. I can not imagine a summer without Conowingo. RID: 44037

Click to report rating    4/8/10   5     5     5     5     5   This is my favorite summer camp ever. Sadly, I may not be able to go this year. At first, I was homesick during the first few years I went, but that's natural. My friends and I have so much fun. The counselors are really nice and funny. The facilities are beautiful and there is a lot to do. There can be quite a hike to the center of camp depending upon where your site is, but that is just part of the experience. It's a great experience whether you can go for one week or more than that. The other scouts that go are cool, and I have met so many people that I have kept in touch with. It is really a great camp. Click to report rating    5/8/08   5     5     5     5     5   This camp offers a number of different programs and a new experience every time. Of course, there are always those who do not enjoy camping in general but if you can handle semi-primitive camping, Conowingo is a great place. I have made friendships that have stayed strong over time. I feel very strongly that it offers a great environment for personal and social growth where everyone is accepted and free from petty judgments that are often found in the "real world". I am going back for my ninth summer this June so that alone should at least speak for one person who has been deeply affected by her experiences here. The property is expansive and mysterious, offering bits of lore regarding Bell Manor and the Chimney. The general routine is comforting but there are always new experiences. Camp offers horseback riding, archery, swimming, canoeing, nature hikes, sports, high and low ropes and arts & crafts, among other things. G.S. camps offer an empowering environment that fosters growth. RID: 23018
Click to report rating    5/1/08   4     4     5     5     5   I miss going to this camp. It was toughf but it was outdoors. I loved meeting people from all over the world. I made alot of friends and sad now that I lost conact with them. I would suggust alot of people to go there. The horse program was wonderful, it was hard but you learned and learned the right way. I had a few bad years there but more better once then bad. I would never tell anyone to take the swiming program. There where a few problems with organization, but what camp doesn't have those issues. RID: 22856

BUT SHE NEVER DID!! Plus when u first come there they check u for all the diseases. This girl sitting next to me had a wart on her foot and they evacuated us from the cabin and sent her home. Just for a wart!! DON'T EVER EVER EVER GO!! RID: 16875
