I went to Ouareau for 3 summers. The first two were fantastic, I met some of my closest friends and never had a bad moment. However, the 3rd year was the ABSOLUTE WORST MONTH OF MY LIFE! The cabin arrangements were absolutely terrible, they separated me from all of my old friends, and put me in a cabin with girls my little sister's age (in fact, half of the girls in my cabin had been in a cabin with my sister the year before). They put my sister in a cabin with girls 2 years younger than her as well! Secondly, we were FORCED to participate in games and songs that were so incredibly boring and childish. We had absolutely no choice on what we did. The camp enforced the dumbest rules, like not being allowed in other's peoples cabins and staying in your cabin for a full hour after lunch. When I repeatedly asked for a cabin change to be with my friends, my requests were completely ignored. Considering how much $$$ my mom was coughing up for me to go to this terrible camp, that was NOT ok!

As a camper, a CIT and now a staff at Ouareau, I can definatly say that it made me a better person, the person I am today. Merci le camp Ouareau pour tout!

I have been going to this summer camp for 7 years since I was 4 and I love this camp so much I love the councilors love all the campers so much and I would be a completely different person if I did have this camp. Everything at this camp is so amazing and when me and my sister pull into that lot we can't stop ourselves from bursting out screaming

No other camp quite like it, a home away from home for most of the returning campers (and there are a ton!) makes for a great community and great connections outside of camp life.

This summer will be my daughter's fourth year at Ouareau. My husband and I feel very blessed that she attends this camp. Her self confidence has really grown and she isn't nearly as shy or intimidated as she was before. The French program is awesome and gives her a really great boost for the new school year. The food is fantastic and it's nice to know there is a daily salad bar. The staff at Ouareau are really great and never hesitate to stop and offer hugs and encouragement. They are strong women who want to help nurture and grow future strong women. We feel very indebted to Ouareau for all of the positive changes in our daughter and it's nice to know that we can feel good about leaving her in their care.

I have sent my niece to Ouareau for the past 3 years, her first 2 as a junior camper and last year, "finally real camp" (her 8 year old words). She is begging to go for a month, but we're going for 1 more year at 2 weeks for her little brother's sake. She loves the activities and choosing so many different ones. In her words "It's not my food, but it's really good food". She has made great friends and always cries about how much she'll miss her counselors as we travel home. She speaks French on French days and speaks to her French friends in French, the language program is a mix of encouragement from the staff and effort from the campers. My niece would be devastated if Ouareau was taken out of her summer life!Like someone else said, maybe not fore everybody, but well worth considering, this is a quality camp!

This was my child's first camp experience. I was so heartbroken to hear about the insensitive way my daughter was treated when she was unable to reach us for her one phone call. She had just turn 9 at the time and said she all she did was TEAR UP when she wasn't able to reach us.Before they tried to call for the second time she was told by one of the more mature counselors (about middle age) "If you don't stop crying I will hang up the phone!" My child has never had any separation issues, is really quite a "toughy", but she was so sad that she couldn't speak with us (two weeks is a long time away from home for a child). She was so hurt by the way she was spoken to that it spoiled a part of her experience there. I also think the camp really lacked personal attention especially at pick up/drop off. Oh, the camp really misrepresents itself when it says French is taught. Your child will learn more in an hour on the computer..I'm not joking at all! Much better camps out there.

Great atmosphere, great site, amazing food, amazing staff, great variety of activities. My daughter's first year was in 2009 and she's been going back ever since. I definitely reccomend it to anyone!

OUAREAU IS AMAZING! it was my first year last year, and the second i left, i knew i wanted to go back again! All the activities are amazing, and being able to pick your own is super fun! Also, the food, the staff, the site are great! My cabin was huge! Anyways, if you're looking for a camp where your daughter can have a lot of fun, CAMP OUAREAU is your top choice.

Great Camp!!! I love the atmosphere... the staff, the food the site all wonderful. I love that I can choose my own activities. The staff and campers made me feel like I have a second family. Ouareau girls 4 ever!!!

Absolutely fabulous! I've been going there for several years, and it's a really great girls' camp. There's a family camp program too, but we haven't tried that thus far. Not for everyone I suppose, but if you're planning on sending your daughter to summer camp, definitely give Ouareau a look.
