I have been going here for 6 years. I have been staying for most of the summer. Hochelaga is my second home and I am always said when I leave. I have meet many amazing people. I have had issues with a few of the campers or counselors in the past. The vegetarian and vegan food has been getting better the past few years. The position of camp director has changed but it didn't have to much impact on the camp. Next year I am going to be a CIT. I have been to other camps and I liked hochelaga the most.

Going to Camp Hochelaga has changed my life for the better and I will never forget the memories that I have made there. I have met amazing friends from all over the world who I stay in contact with all year round and I look forward to seeing them every summer. Some of my favorite things about Hochelaga are the traditions that continue year after year. For example, I love singing songs after every meal and the doing evening programs. There are lots of activities that stay the same from week to week like kayaking, sailing, paddle boarding, tennis, and archery. If you love theater, go for the last three weeks of camp because that is when the musical happens! My first year I went for only one week but the one week sessions go by very quickly so I recommend staying for longer! Overall, I have loved every minute that I have spent at Hochelaga and I am happy to call it my second home!

This was my daughter's 3rd year, first 2 years were great. This year we sent her for 2 weeks, she was so unhappy with the way staff treated her, she went to them begging to call home as she did not want to be there any longer. They refused her to call home. They should have called me and asked what I wanted to do. When she came to them, they laughed in her face and told her to go back to her cabin. She went to them with a friend that she thought was suicidal, again they laughed in the girls faces and told them they were being dramatic and nothing done. My daughter was desperate to get out and realized she had a addressed stamped envelope I gave her to send her Grandma a letter, she used that and begged her grandma to have us come and get her. You better believe I was there immediately. A camp is great when things are going smoothly, but when they don't handle tough situations correctly it can really have an impact on your child. I would not recommend this camp at all.

I've gone to Hochelaga for two summers and it's the best thing in the world. I did the two week session and at first I was homesick but it goes away. The only thing that I had a problem with was the food. I don't eat chicken and that's all we ate. Chicken every day. And also I felt sick one night and I went to the nurse like three times and they kept saying I was dehydrated and they wouldn't give me any meds like come on. But Laga is my second home. I plan to go very year and become a counselor. Oh and the counsellors might be the best part of camp. They are the best and they are so funny. THE HOCHELAGA SPIRIT WILL NEVER EVER DIE OH THE HOCHELAGA SPIRIT WILL NEVER EVER DIE IT'S AWAY BEYOND THE BLUE HORIZON

This was the worst camp ever. I had to go for a swimming test and they made me stay in the freezing cold water until my lips turned blue. The food there is horrible and the activities are boring, I am never going back and if I could rate it it would be the worst grade possible. When I went I could only go to the bathroom 2 times a day. I feel like they don't care about anything there. I went there for 2 out of 5 days. I stopped going because it was so horrible.

I went here five years or so ago, for the day camp. I thought it was so bad, I didn't even go back for the second day! I felt like nothing, especially the swimming was not organized, probably because the day camp is mixed in with the overnight campers. I know people who have gone here for overnight camp, and didn't like it. I wouldn't recommend it!Everything I felt was low quality.

Every night they seemed to run out of food...which is odd. The staff was adequate but not amazing, the girls were not the friendliest and the schedule got a bit dull after a week. I only went for a week-maybe you have to go for more, but i wouldn't recommend this camp.

I have been going to 'Laga for ten years now and it is probably one of the most amazing places ever! Ratings could not do it justice. I hope to come back for at least five more years!
