My grandson is now there for his 3rd summer. We live in a small southern city where he is the ONLY Jewish student in his school . I cannot overly emphasize enough the importance of a Jewish summer camp experience. CBF was recommended to us by a good friend whose son went there. My grandson loved it from the moment he arrived and looks forward to summer each year. He will have his Bar Mitzvah there next summer. We just love everything about CBF and cannot thank them enough for providing an affordable place for our kids to go. There's not a single camp in the South that is affordable to us. Love the staff for their caring and love of my grandson. You don't judge a camp by how fancy it is, but what it provides: a loving, caring, joyful experience.

I can't say enough about this camp. CBF runs like a faith-based organization - not a business as many Jewish camps do. What this means: an affordable camp people are truly passionate about. What I heard from one parent when I was looking into CBF: "It's a great camp; it's not a fancy camp, but it's a great camp." At first I thought the low tuition was too good to be true. Of all the camps I researched, CBF was the only place I even felt a full month of camp would fit into our budget with two kids. But don't think CBF sacrifices quality. Most of the CBF counselors are former campers who work for next to nothing because they are passionate about what CBF means. It's a small camp where every child is known by name. The use of the SIU facility means controlling costs yet with a decent facility and opportunities for activities. And of course, the support of a generous Jewish Federation who recognizes what a gem CBF is. Both kids loved it, and my eldest wept when it was time to go home.

Camp Ben Frankel is a wonderful place to experience the joys of Judaism through creative fun. Campers gain a new understanding of their Jewish identity in arts and crafts, drama, Jewish and Israeli song and dance sessions, morning t’filot, evening programs and our wonderful Shabbat programming. All in a safe Jewish Environment. My kids have gone for 5 years now and they love it. They will become counselors next year.

I went to this camp for 8 years as both camper and staff. I have made some of my best life long friends at CBF!!! I recommend it to anyone looking for a personalized, caring, wonderful camp experience. Even now, as an adult, I wish I could go back and be a camper again!

My kids just love CBF. They talk about it all year long, and can't wait to go back. It is the highlight of their summers. Their counselors are great and very caring. They have made friends there that they will have for the rest of their lives. I feel very comfortable sending my kids there, because I know they will be safe. It is a smaller camp and very personal. I would recomend this camp to everyone.

After years of my friends telling me that this camp was the best around, I finally tried it and they were right. I am in love with it now- the people are AMAZING, I have made life long friends, and had the time of my life. There is such a warm, friendly feeling at CBF, and the camp has creative activities to keep the campers busy and having fun. Can't wait for next year!!

I have been going to this camp for 10 years, and I'm going back this year for the 11th. I was a camper going into 2nd grade and I'm now a counselor and I love it just the same. It's really brought about my Jewish identity and I know it's shaped me into who I am today. It's made me more aware and proud of my Jewish heritage and I'm thankful for that every day. I would encourage all Jewish kids to go here, no matter how religious you are because it's wonderful whether you're reform or traditional.

Fantastic group of kids. Very open, well-behaved. If you want sophistication, don't come to this camp. Kids are kids here. Judaism permeates throughout but is not "academic" in the sense of formal classes. Camp is small; Director knows every kid. Every kid gets off the bus at the end of camp and the first thing they say is "I'm going back next year!" Now THAT is the ultimate market test!
