Click to report rating    3/30/23   1     1     1     1     1   My child's class went here and when they got back my child told me that the staff were very rude and didn't care if you were clod you had to keep walking. My child told me that their dishes and dorms were EXTREMELY dirty and not cleaned at all. This was also for the bathrooms, especially for the showers. The bathrooms had mould and spider webs! My child also told me that the staff did not pay attention to your needs only their own needs. The activities were garbage because they were either put in the cold which by the way was negative 30 outside. Then the staff would yell at you if you said it was cold. I would not recommend this camp to anyone who is going in the winter or at all! RID: 53689
Click to report rating    6/13/18   1     3     3     1     1   My daughter was treated very poorly by her counselor name is something Lillian and her camp name is chickadee. Rather than thinking about the kids she thought of herself when it was mealtimes. She would be selfish and grab food for herself first rather than allowing the kids to grab the food first. My child is only 11 years old and we don't tolerant swearing and my child was sweared at. Just for having a fun time and talking to her friends at night. She told them shut up and get your a*ses in bed. We also found it very unfair how other children got to call home with other counselors but our child wasn't allowed to. As for the hike isn't it your responsibility to know the hike. However this counselor got lost and the poor children got punished and didn't get lunch they only got dinner. Overall because of these types of experiences your camp sadly is being degraded. RID: 51889

Click to report rating    8/29/16   5     5     5     5     5   Fabulous culture of respect for the environment and each other. High;y energetic staff bring out the best in kids. Unbelievable facilities located in the mountains with kids able to experience tipi living and really feel like they are unplugged for 2 weeks. Nurturing environment that ensures every kid can attend, independent of their financial means RID: 50031
Click to report rating    5/30/16   5     5     5     5     5   We had a great visit to this camp and the counsellors were great. They made my kids feel welcome and my daughter cried because one counsellor was such an inspiration for her. I would highly recommend this camp and all it people. Have to remember that's it's not the Ritz and its in the bush. Roughing it in tee-pees was a blast for my kids. RID: 49631
Click to report rating    5/17/16   1     3     3     1     1   The camp leader lost three of us on a hike and brushed it off. When on family camping the camp leaders are constantly interrupting mothers talking to their children and they take your child away to eat meals with them when your clearly at a table eating a meal with your child. The camp leaders are VERY INTRUSIVE AND OVER STEP BOUNDRIES. I highly do NOT recommend this camp to anyone. RID: 49590
Click to report rating    3/5/16   1     1     1     1     1   Me and most people in my cabin had a cold and I don't think our councillors even care. I went home with a terrible cold and now I don't even I think I can go to school. RID: 49458
Click to report rating    8/19/13   5     5     5     5     5   Took my kids to Banff from New York and put them in this camp. Amazing! First thing the kids said at pickup was " can we come back next year". Amazing culture set by the staff to engage the kids with the out if doors. My really fussy eater came back loving new foods and my slightly daughter cam back proud if her new muscles in her arms and legs. RID: 45754
Click to report rating    7/20/13   5     4     3     3     4   I have been to this camp a couple times and i enjoyed the "camp" part of it. The food was great the activities and the people. The stuff that isn't mentioned on this website and on most camp websites is the spiritual aspects to it. At the end of every camp they have a grand council which is like an ''first nations' ceremony. This was very crazy and too serious for camp and very racist since there is no actual first nations people there. just a personal thing is i dont like it when you have to every night go in a circle and talk about your feelings its so awkward. Also not be religious and not believing in that stuff i found it hard to actually get involve and pray and say grace. being an older camper you have to do a 4 day back packing trip and they do not offer anything else for older campers. This camp would be so much fun if you took out the religious first nations aspect and camp fire and let kids in a structured way do what they want with some rules. RID: 45264

Click to report rating    12/11/08   5     5     5     5     5   Not a day has gone by since my last month long session have I not longed to return. The experiences, friends and knowledge that is gathered is measured far greater than any other wealth on the planet. I would recommend this camp to any child, regardless of physical or mental ability. RID: 27921

Click to report rating    6/14/08   1     1     1     1     1   i don't like it when my councillor ignores the group and favors one camper and sings us to sleep. Everyone i know got sick there RID: 23840
Click to report rating    3/15/08   5     4     3     5     5   It all depends at what time of the year you go at. because if you go during the winter the hikes are very cold and damp and it becomes more painful then fun. We werent allowed to go on the high ropes because we couldnt get into the shed but the high ropes looked like a heck of a lot of fun. The food was okay so we would have to sneak apples from the tables into the dorms but other then that everything was fascinating. I cant wait to check it out in the summer. Luv ya River! RID: 21286

Click to report rating    1/14/07   4     4     5     4     4   Camp chief hector is my home away from home. the friends you make there are amazing, and the food... it all depends on who the chef is. the make sure that every time you go its different, by adding things like tribal challenge, the olympics ect. i love the fact that you sleep in tipis, iven though theyre a bit cold in the mornings.something everyone loves: -high ropes. theres the leap of faith (dont worry, you wear a harness) the giant swing, (like, actually giant) theres the zipper, (zip line), ooh! and archery! fun fun fun! theres almost nothing bad i can say about this camp, except maybe, the odd counsler who isnt what you like, but theres always two, so it all evens out. and about food, the best food you will ever taste, is OT(out trip) food. its AMAZING. well not really, but it seems that way because you're so hungry.now you can stop wondering why its so hard to get into! you have to sign up right away, or space will run out no matter who you are! have fun!( i know you will) ;) RID: 6783
