Never again will I send my child here, he was not allowed to call me when he felt he wanted to leave, there were racial names being said to other children with no consequences, also don’t believe adults are taking care of your child, unless you think a 16 year old is an adult. Never again.ever

I used to love this camp, and still want to work there, but there’s some serious truth about it that very few people know that I feel is important. I was sexually harassed and assaulted at the camp by a male LIT . when I reported the ongoing incident after it happening for a week, the staff made a big deal about me not talking about it soon enough, they sent him home for one day and suddenly let him back the next. I was called over dramatic for having panic attacks when near this LIT despite my anxiety disorder being something that was put in my documents. I was then told to be quiet about it as to not cause drama and was made out to be a liar. They handled the situation horribly overall, I now have to try to avoid this LIT that is most likely coming back because he’s apparently good with kids. And on top of that other girls also reported incidents with the same LIT and nothing was done.

The counselors and camp activities are great. My kids have gone for years. Unfortunately last summer my daughter got critically ill while at camp and didn't get the care she received, with the clinic staff lying in the clinic notes that she asked me to pick her up and that I refused. Rather than holding this staff member accountable for the degree to which my daughter was allowed to get sick under her care, they are bringing this person back to staff this current summer session. My kids will not be there when she is. I seriously question the management direction of the senior staff--putting convenience of hiring of a volunteer staff position over the well being of the children. Not to mention the questionable ethical character of this staff member, seemingly condoned by upper management as it appears to protect them from liability.

I go Camp High Harbour at Lake Burton, and I love it, have always loved it, and will continue to love it forever. I learned so many life skills and make so many important friends. I got homesick at first, but the wonderful counselors helped me through it. The food it very(surprisingly) good.It is my second home, and I could suggest it to any kid looking for a fun time. You just need to sign up really early. My friend signed up 4 minutes after the sign-up opened and she didn't get in. My last word is, I love it!

Camp High Harbour is truly my second home! I love going to camp every summer and I never want to leave! The staff are amazing and you meet so many great people there! CHH has taught me so many great things. The activities are fun and teach you that you can do anything you put your mind to. This coming year will be my 5th year at camp! I love having chapel in the mornings because you get to let loose and glorify God with amazing songs! High Harbour, God has his hand on you!

This camp is the best camp yet there was never a time I said I was bored I can do anything and everything at camp if I put my mind to it. The things I like the most is the chapel and singing songs and doing cheers and our sit down cheer at the dining hall the counslers are amazing and nice and they don't care if you act weird at camp you are supposed to come out of your comfort zone and show your true colors and be weird that just how camp is if you are looking for a great camp for your kids this would be the camp to go to

I have been attending camp now for 6 years and love it! It is truly a home away from home to me! Camp high harbour has made a huge impact on my life and has shaped me into the person I am today and for that I am thankful! At camp it's the people that make the place and high harbour would not be the same without the wonderful campers and staff! I have learned so much at camp and look forward to going back EVERY year! I have a spot nestled in my heart for high harbour and it grows each and every time I return! I can not wait to become a councilor and impact the lives of campers as they have done to me! This may just seem like a regular old summer camp to outsiders but once you go you will leave saying " I am glad I did " and not " I wish I could have" or " god will never leave me" or even " carpe diem..,... Seize the day" this place has true.y made an impact on me and I hope you read this and decide to go! I promise it will be the best decision u ever made!

This camp is straight ballin'. It's such an awesome experience for all who come. I'm a staff member, and I have been coming ever since I was 7 years old, and I'm now 17. Somethign about it keeps me coming back for more!

i dont have words to describe how camp has changed my life just getting away from normal life being able to get covered in paint and scream my ;lungs out for a stick and that is completley normal ken o'kelly has done an amazing job with this camp i applaud you thank you i just got back nd cant wait for n ext year im going to be an LIT so i cant wait!!!

Camp High Harbour was the best experience of my whole life. I would have loved to stay there for the whole summer. My campmates were great, counselors were awesome and my cabin won THE SPIRIT STICK!!! Go Bullpups!!! Canoeing, kayaking and blobbing ROCK. I am counting the days until next year when I go for two weeks. I made so many good friends that I can not even count them all. It was a great experience.

Camp High Harbour is the most amazing place on earth! If a person does not have a good experience at camp that is their own fault not the camps, because if you go in with an open mind and ready to have fun than you will as Ken O Kelly says every morning "If its to be" "Its up to me" camp is whatever you make of it and if the facilities were going to be incredible and like a hotel than would it really be camp?

I love Cha La Kee they are so nice to people and they always help and deliver, i go every year and there is not another camp i would go to exept for the YMCA camp High Harbour

I wouldn't listen to what people say about the aweful things about this camp. Camp high harbour is one of the best camps. You can loosen up shout for the spirit stick!!! There are may activties to do and you learn new things every year. the cabins are nice too. if people say that the cabins are disgusting i'm guessing they're expecting a 5 star hotel or something. i mean come awn a single bug wont hurt u i mean its camp!!!! the staff are nice and really funny. You'll be able to make friends and meet new people. High Harbour is a little piece of heaven for me.

best place on earth I've been going for 4 years and a L.I.T last year and I'll be on staff next year and If you havent been you should def go there are 3 sites and there all great but I got to say rabun gap is the best its the smallest so you get to know everyone

Camp High Harbour is the most amazing place that i have ever gone. last summer i was an LIT there. the values that the pro staff teaches their staff to share with the campers are nothing but being yourself and loving God. the camp is an amazing atmosphere that can bring even the most shy of a person out of their shell. By the end of the week everyone is jumping and screaming and dancing at night program and they dont even care that people can see them. thats what camp does to people. it makes them unafraid of whot hey really are. its where we break away from the everyday and become who God wants us to be.

I love Camp High Harbor. The councilors are amazing and you forget you are away from family. It is like I have a new family> I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE, IT!!!!

I'm a staff memeber at Lake Burton and this place has changed my life. I've been going since I was 9 and now I'm 17, still going back to camp summer after summer. CHH not only gives the kids fun activities like bunbusting, riflery, and arts and crafts, but it also aims to teach the person and character of Jesus Christ to all campers. Honestly, Caring, Respect and Responsiblity are the character vaules taught through devotions. In my opinion, the staff is amazing. I love the people I work with and when I was a camper I loved my counselors each year. The cabins are rustic and give a real camp experience. There are activities for kids who like all different things. This place, whether its at Lake Burton, Chalakee, or Rabun Gap, is really a piece of heaven and truly touched by God himself.

Camp High Harbour has made me a better person, the staff is inspirational and frankly some of the coolest people I have ever met. I really apoligize to those of you who had a bad experience with it, but please try to give it another chance. It will change your life, and if you can please do not discourage someone else from going here because of your experience. High Harbour also has an amazing servant leadership program that I highly recommend. Camp Chalakee is my favorite place on earth. But if you go with friends, always try to branch out and meet new people. I highly recommend this camp to anyone who wants to learn to live full of Christian values and loving relationships. CHALAKEE IS AMAZING.

This camp is great! the staff are hard working and friendly, paying attention to all the small details. the camp property is awesome and always being improved! The camp teaches Christian ideals through devotions and by modeling from the staff.

yuck! sooo many camps are nicer than high harbor, the cafeteria stinks, its soo loud and we have to do stupid cheers and stuff, and theirs nothing to do. my first year was ok, and my second year was awful! the counselors were not that great, and they where obsessed about cleaning, and the cabin was jam packed with like 25 girls in a tiny space!!! and never sleep on the porch or else you might wake up with a spider crawling on your bed or making a web in front of ur face! the facilities where terrible, and u cant do the challenge course until ur older! the second time i went their everyone said they didnt feel good, and something was going around, if ur thinking about going 2 cMP DON'T COME HERE!! i recomend camp thunderbird in sc!

It might just be me, but I had a bad experience at High Harbour. My counselors were mean to me and my peers mistreated me and made fun of me because of my appearance, which I most definitely cannot help. This in turn made everything else not fun and I spent most of my time there crying or trying to mentally get over the comments and insults I took in every day.

This in really the best camp in the world. I have gone there for the last 6 years and are diffently going back. It was skiboats, ropes course, gym, "The Blob", and so so much more. the is a Christan with devotions at both morning and night. staff is the best i know
