I’m sorry, exactly when did people think it was okay to have this camp available to kids??? This is absolutely disgusting. You are literally sending your kids away to a camp that promotes racism. If you cared AT ALL about Indigenous culture, you would be having them educated by ACTUAL INDIGENOUS PEOPLE. How about you have people who are actually knowledgeable about the culture teach your kids? How about having an elder tell them stories, or have them attend ceremonies? Instead, you think having them paint their face and wear fake headdresses is sufficient? I really don’t understand what goes through your people’s minds- DO BETTER, BE GOOD PEOPLE. Be a good parent for god sakes. Sincerely, a very uncomfortable and upset Indigenous person.

I signed up my 3 kids of Camp Shi'ini this past summer and the experience was tremendous. The counselors were all so dialed in, and my kids came home every day with remarkable stories about what had transpired at camp. We're coming back in 2018 with our neighbors and cousins! Great activities and great personnel. This was definitely money well spent and my wife and I strongly recommend Camp Shi'ini!

Camp Shi'ini is an amazing summer camp that has the best counselor staff in all of Pasadena. I have sent my kids to SummerKids and TomS lawyer Camp, and neither of those camps stands up against Camp Shi'ini. Their counselors care so much and entertain the kids like you would not believe. The archery and swimming and horseback riding and camel feeding and canoeing and treasure hunt don't even begin to tell you how many amazing activities they offer at Camp Shi'ini. We love the camp and will be back this summer for our 4th straight summer. Highly recommended camp!!!

Best camp that I have ever sent my kids to. Have 2 sons and they LOVED Camp Shi'ini! We will be back next summer! Well run camp with great kids and wonderful activities. Most attentive and 'with it" counselors I have ever seen. A+ service all the way. We tried Steve & Kate's Camp in 2015 and it was awful. So glad that we found Shi'ini!!!!

Camp Shi'ini is the best camp that we have ever sent our 2 kids to. I remember being a little apprehensive before signing them up last year, so our family went into the office to meet with the 2 owners. They were so attentive and so understanding. I will never forget what they told me - that my kids would come home ever day from camp feeling like real-life heroes. And they were so right! Every day, Ethan and Christina would come home and tell my wife and I all about their remarkable adventures at Camp Shi'ini that day. Archery, treasure hunts, adventures, new friends they had made, horse riding, canoe races, and so on. I strongly recommend Camp Shi'ini. And their fleet of vans pick up the kids straight from home. We're coming back this summer of course!

My daughter's first experience at this facility was last summer, and according to her it was amazing. We've tried other camps in the past that have made false promises as far as trips but Camp Shi'ini has lived up to their promises for the most part. I love the fact that they provide door to door service and it is very comforting to know as a parent that she is in an enviornment she enjoys. That for me is worth every penny.

Camp Shi'ini is a fantastic day-camp that my eldest son has enjoyed since 2009. I recommend it very highly. It is by far the best camp in the San Gabriel Valley and we've tried them all! Go Shi'ini!!!

Camp Shi'ini is the best summer camp that my twins have ever gone to. We've tried all the other camps in the Pasadena area, and Camp Shi'ini is head and shoulders above the rest. My twins come home every day with amazing stories about the treasure hunts they have been on, the horses that they have rose, and all the canoeing and archery and swimming events that they have participated in. The camp has amazing supervision and every child goes home feeling like a hero. The camp van picks up my girls every morning and drops them off in the afternoon, which is so much more convenient than any of the other camps in our area. I strongly recommend Camp Shi'ini. My twin 7 year old girls love it and are still talking about it 2 months later! We will be back in 2015 for sure! -Lee Sharpe

When we sent our 6 year old daughter to Camp Shi'ini in 2013, we had no idea what a positive impact it would have on her. She loved the camp and talks about it all the time -- even now, nearly 6 months after the camp session has ended! Camp Shi'ini has an arrow of high-quality activities, like canoeing, horseback riding, bows and arrows, hiking, swimming, beach trips, and an interactive treasure hunt adventure that is nothing shorty of superb! The great thing about Camp Shi'ini is that they have door-to-door picks-up every morning and then door-to-door drop-offs each afternoon. So convenient! The camp is a tad bit pricey, but it is well worth every penny. I've done my research, and there isn't anywhere in the Pasadena area where you can get this many activities with this quality of supervision that Camp Shi'ini offers for any cheaper. We HIGHLY recommend Camp Shi'ini!

My son always has a wonderful time at Camp Shi’ini. He once said that it is his favorite time of the year, aside from Christmas. For him, spending his days at Camp Shi’ini is his summer highlight.
I also love this camp. You see, like most kids today, my son never liked spending outdoors before. He’d stay cooped up inside the house playing video games. After enrolling him to Camp Shi’ini, he changed. At start, he was reluctant for he didn’t want to camp out. But since he had no other choice and by some convincing on my part (I threatened to sell the video game consoles at home), he agreed.
Camp Shi’ini was a good influence to my son because when he came home from the camp, I saw how my son changed a lot. He came to love playing outside with other kids. He became active and sporty. When I asked him how the camp went, he would tell me that he enjoyed it a lot. He had fun playing with other kids, making new friends and doing all the fun camp activities.

My son has attended Camp Shi'ini since the summer of 2011 and he genuinely loves it. Every day, he comes home and tells my wife and me marvelous stories of treasure hunts and archery and canoe races. He loves the camp's Olympic games each summer and enjoys painting large wooden totem poles that he still has on display in his room. Camp Shi'ini offers a very unique summer experience for kids and the best part is that it's right here in Pasadena's Arroyo Seco area, less than a mile from our home. I recommend Camp Shi'ini very highly.

Without Camp Shi'ini my girls summer would be long and boring - and my summer would be a whole lot more work.
My daughters, ages 8 and 10, love Camp Shi'ini and so do I. The fact that they pick up and drop off my children at my door is invaluable, they always have their safety in mind. There are two counselors for every 12 children so my girls get individualized attention, which I appreciate so much as a working mom.
By far my girls favorite activities are horseback riding and Elephant soccer. Both are becoming quite the equestrians and have no fear of the horses. I love the confidence that they have achieved.
I can't say enough good things about Camp Shi'ini. Thank goodness for this camp. I can not imagine what my summer would be like without the wonderful folks at Camp Shi'ini.

This past summer I signed my son up to go to camp Shi'ini. Its an Indian themed day camp for children.
They come right to your house and pick up your child and drop them off at the end of the day. My son could hardly wait for them to come and get him in the morning. They taught him to ride a horse, how to shoot a bow and arrow along with quite a few other really cool activities.
You have your choice of how many days a week your child attends the camp from two to five days. I am a single parent so we chose the 5 days a week so my son had something fun to do in the summer while I was at work.
The counselors were very professional and safety oriented.
Camp Shi'ini is located in South Pasadena at Arroyo Park.
I would highly recommend this great experience for your child.

Camp Shi'Ini is AMAZING!!! My two sons (now 13 and 10) have been going every summer for 7 and 6 years respectively and LOVE it! they ride horses and perform archery and play great games like elephant soccer. There are even some beach trips thrown in. Every afternoon my kids come home tired and happy. It's so gret that they're outside having a good time and not glued to the TV or video games!!!

My daughter has been attending Camp Shi'ini for 7 years. She loves camp, talks about it all of the time and looks forward to camp all year. The activities are so fun and a true summer experience. She has made wonderful friends and loves the counselors. She loves the story that the camp puts on and is fully engaged in the various plots and characters that emerge throughout the summer. Noah and Peter are engaged in all aspects of planning the camp and know the campers. My daughter really feels like she is a part of this camp. It truly is the highlight of her year, every year.

For everyone out there with kids, I highly recommend Camp Shi’ini. Our girls went there for years and loved each year. They are now in high school and still talk about how much fun they had and all the other kids and counselors they met. The owners, Noah & Peter are there each day joining in all the activities and fun. Camp Shi’ini is unlike all the other camps. Your child will take away a lifetime of awesome memories. My children love this camp. They go year after year and can't get enough. It is a true highlight every year. They come home tired but excited for the next days adventure. They are safe, the councilors love them and they experience lots of physical activity outside. I can not say enough about this camp, it is a true gem.

Camp Shi'ini is the BEST that Pasadena has to offer! Our three children started going to Camp Shi-ini as soon as they were old enough to go at age 4 and went every summer! When they became too old to be campers, they became junior counselors. We've been a Shi'ini family for over 20 years! The campers have the best time and are so well taken care of by the staff. The counselors love the campers and have so much fun with them. The activities are amazing every year, and the camp owners put so much energy into keeping the story new and exciting. Everyone has fun everyday at Camp Shi'ini, and the kids are very well supervised. They have a wonderful adventure every day and will have wonderful memories of their summers at Camp Shi'ini!

Our family has been going to Camp Shi-ini since 2008. What we love about the camp is the combination of traditional camp activities with a treasure hunt/narrative that extends over the entire summer. Each day our children would come home with stories of the adventures they had that day. Our experiences with Peter and Noah the camp directors have always been wonderful, they always return my calls in a timely fashion, they always have time for any questions and they always have time for our children, even in winter time. One year my son was missing camp and called Peter. They talked for 20 minutes about camp and it really meant a lot to my son. The vans they use to transport the kids are clean and the drivers are super friendly and responsible and they always make sure the children go home with the right adult. We love Camp Shi-ini and are looking forward to more years of adventure and fun.

My kids (now 12 and 13) have attended Camp Shi'ini since each was 5 years old (my youngest just attended for his last year during the summer of 2012). They LOVED the play-acting by the counselors, and the creative storyline that goes along with the camp experience. Noah and Peter, and their staff of trained counselors, do an awesome job of directing the summer session, with regular camp activities (archery, horseback riding, hiking, swimming) along with an exciting story that continues from day to day, and from year to year. My kids would come home each day, and discuss recent developments in the story with their friends - Camp Shi'ini blends a traditional camp experience with a dynamic backstory that keeps the kids engaged and excited!

Camp Shi'ini is by far one of the best camp experiences both you and your child will have. Having worked in camp grounds for several years I was impressed with the overall leadership team, the programs that get every camper actively involved, the attention the counselors give to each camper and the genuine love and care of the staff. The fact that they have transportation to and from camp is an immense help and convenience given I'm a working parent. It’s also a welcomed treat during the holidays to get the annual DVD that showcases your child’s camp experience from the summer. My son was a camper for several years and is now on the staff. Camp Shi'ini far exceeded our expectations when it came to a summer camp experience.

My 7 year old and 10 year old boys attended for the first time this summer and just LOVED it. I cannot tell you how crucial it was that the management of Camp Shi'ini made the conscious effort to make sure that both of my kids were arranged in groups with their other friends that were signed up for the camp. Not every camp will do that, but Camp Shi'ini made sure that my boys were with their friends so that they could feel comfortable all day long. We're coming back in 2013!!

Shi'ini is definitely the coolest camp in Pasadena, and it has been for years. I attended the camp back in the late 1970s and it still has the same basic activities. Lots of history and I really enjoy the Native American Indian theme that the camp showcases. My son Brady is genuinely interested in Native American history and culture now thanks to Camp Shi'ini. We're going to be back next summer, and every summer until he is old enough to work as a Junior Counselor. (That's his new dream job!) THE LONG FAMILY LOVES CAMP SHI'INI!

2012 marked the first summer that my family used Camp Summer, and needless to say, we were definitely delighted with it! The camp picks up and drops off kids directly from your home, provided that you reside in the general Pasadena area, which we do. My kids woke up at the crack of dawn each morning to put on their custom camp shirts and wait outside for the van to pick them up. The counselors were courteous and very responsible. And I still cannot get over how many unique activities they offer at the camp. Every day, my kids were summing, riding horses, and playing in canoes. There was plenty of archery and exercise too. They also brought home beautiful wooden totem poles that they painted over the summer. These crafts are well over a yard high and very legit. Super program! My son and daughter attended this camp from 2009-2011 and loved it. We moved to the East Coast in Fall 2011 and my kids missed the camp tremendously this past Summer of 2012. They have an excellent staff and dynamic counselors. They also showcase very cool daily activities for the campers to partake in ... like horseback riding and archery and canoe boats and this amazing treasure hunt adventure. I worked at a few summer camps as a kid and none of them were anywhere near as quality as Camp Shi'ini. I highly recommend Camp Shi'ini to everyone, as it is a quality experience. Thumbs up for Shi'ini!

This camp features a running "adventure" skit that stressed our chjld out and gave her bad dreams. I saw one of them and it made the pre-school kids cry. When we expressed our concerns to the head of the camp he was rude and dismissive. After a few days our daughter didn't want to go back, and cried when we dropped her off. Finally it got so bad that we pulled her out. We very respectfully requested a pro-rated refund, explaining that we were on a tight budget and would now need to find other arrangements for our child. They called us and stated that they never give refunds for any reason but that they would discuss it and call us back. They never did. I don't recommend this camp, there are much better camps out there.

My wife and i had an interesting and very FUNNY experience. My wife signed up our girls to this camp. To make it short, we thought this was an actual "camp", we thought we were going to take our kids to a facility where they do all this activities. WRONG! There is no facility. What camp Shiini does is they pick up all these kids with their vans and they meet and take all these kids to different locations, such as some park to do archery, or to the beach or to Pasadena City College for swimming. We seriously thought they actually had all this activities at their own property or facility, which they don't. We figured this out the first day we decided to take them personally to the place where they meet the first day. The staff seems to be nice, they are fairly young kids. They do take care of my kids, as to personal attention, i don't know because we pretty much don't see each other. My kids, well, they kind of don't like it. Maybe they are too little.

Camp Shi'ini is an A+ camp all the way. Their archery and canoeing and horseback programs are outstanding and their treasure hunt is the most innovative thing my children have ever experienced.

"" This camp was a horrible experience for my 6 and 7.5 year olds. The physical actives were great but the adventure story line which is acted out by the counsellors during the day is so aggressive and inappropriately frightening for young children that many come home crying and fearful of going back. Please do not send your young children here, they will end up having nightmares about scary villains, dynamite explosives, and aggressive fighting.
