I am speaking on behalf of the other counselors that have worked here. I have never been treated with such disrespect by the adult counselors. Where is their sense of maturity? All the head counselors talk trash about one another. Although there is a decent share of lovely adults there, everyone is overall snobby and has no care or respect for younger counselors. Assistant counselors are paid a calculated $0.68/hour (which is protected by a contract that is signed prior to the summer season), CITs aren't paid at all. However, the children are treated fairly and are provided with a vast majority of activities suitable for all ages. Send your kids there? Great idea. Work there? Don’t even think about it. Unless you wanna yield the minor financial benefits of working there to help pay for your child’s camp tuition, find a minimum wage job closer to you.

Kids love it. Heard it has some safety issues. Kid was not in the harness correctly when rock climbing. They didn't notice until he was all the way up the wall. Very clicky. Snobby prents and owners.

HORRIBLE CAMP JUST HORRIBLE!!! My son went here the bus driver dropped him on the other side of the street the last day of camp and left him my neighbor brought him over to me and when I called the camp nothing was done I should of taken legal action but they have so much money I am sure they would of just paid someone under the table for us to be wrong and it to be covered up. You pay all this money for what the staff is horrible and treated my son so bad because he has adhd. won't give them a penny anymore and they have nerve to charge for shirts yea ok coleman beat it

So before I even write about anything, my son's staff was: 2 THIRTEEN AND TWELVE YEAR OLD "CIT" who were PAYING TO GO THEIR AND WORK! Then there was some kid who was like 15, and the "head" counselor was 18. THIS IS OBSERD!!! FOR $9000 WHO WOULD SEND THEIR KID TO BE PUT IN THE HANDS OF PRE-TEENS? Oh and that wild west isn't real, unless you consider being on the Meadowbrook parkway the wilderness.

My kids have spent 3 summers at Coleman. My 9 y/o daughter LOVES this camp. She has had so much fun, loves her peers and her counselors. My son, who is younger, likes it but does not love the camp the same way my daughter does. The office staff is attentive and has been in touch with me every time one of the kids has gotten hurt (not significantly). They are very attentive. I have no complaints about the counselors, they are really good. My daughter loved her counselors. The sports staff are well qualified. And the camp is very organized. I like that the kids are in the water twice a day. The only drawback is the price. This camp is very expensive.

I've to Coleman not for a very long time but long enough to recognize the camp in every way. I do believe that it is fun. But I feel that they baby the 3rd and 4th graders. They are not allowed on trips and the counselors have to pour drinks into their cups at lunch. 3rd and 4th graders should be doing that stuff on there own.

The only thing that is good about this camp are the activities. The Staff were nice but not enough. they didnt really see someone get hurt until at least half an hour later. The Commercial was a total fraud, it looked like it was a camp in the wilderness, but in reality the camp by a busy road. The camp is also fenced up which I think it should not be fenced up. My son went on a school end of the year trip here. He said it was not fun at all.

I have attended coleman country day camp for 12 yrs. each summer there is something different, new and exciting for campers to do. I was a camper from the time I was three and i can honestly say coleman has been a huge part of who I am today. I am grateful for my experiences at coleman. I know the friends I made at coleman country day camp are friends I will have the rest of my life. As a current staff member, I realize the hard work and love that goes into Coleman Country Day Camp!

When going to this camp, i was very unhappy. It was very competitive. also, they are rude and obnoxious. i did the circus program at the camp when i was younger and i was to the point of coming home that day crying histericly about the fact they screamed at me and threatned to kick me out of the program, and the sad part was i was only in 4th grade. If you are thinking of sending your child here, think again. coleman was the worst 6 years of my life.

I sent my son here for 1 summer, he came back crying every day. He said that his counselors were terrible to him and didn't listen to a word he said. So i figured i would talk to the owner, he didn't do anything to relive the situation. He was on his staffs side the entire time. I was vary dissapointed with Coleman. The next summer, I sent my son to Rolling River and the owners were nothing but welcoming, caring, and willing to listen. I have to say, my son has never had a better summer, than the one he had a Rolling River Day Camp.

My son attended this camp and I was more than unhappy. I should have realized the problems when I went to sign him up. I stopped at tennis court to ask where the office was and george(the owner) drove up on golf cart and in a very demeaning tone stated he doesn't pay his staff to talk. (there were no children at the tennis court. my son had a problem in his camp group and I made repeated calls because he was coming home with bruises from a fellow camper - I was told over and over that they don't accept this in the camp and yet it went on all the time never resolved. This camp claims to be anti bullying. I attended a staff softball game played against another camp (my 7 year old son was with me). One of colemans staff hit a player from the other team in the head with the softball in his hand because he was mad.colemans team is made up of adults including the owner the other young teens. I was disgusted by the behavior of these people -george was personally involved in the fighting!

Coleman has been an amazing expiernce (ccdc) this bully proof camp has opened up my summer to new heights. I can not wait to go back this year. The trips are amazing but my only problem is the locker room floor! It is relle gross and hard to walk on. But, no matter how hard the floor is nothing beats a coleman summer. And at the end of the year color war and the the date ( for example: 2008 )burning lit up, makes tears come 2 your eyes when u actually realize tht this summer is coming to an end. If you are looking for an amazing day camp, the search it over because if you go 2 coleman their will be no other camp you would want to go to! And remember, if your in coleman country, you discove the spirit a little bit more each day!!!!

The cafeteria is dirty, the locker room is dirty and the floor hurts to walk on. Someone****ed in the pool while i was in it and they didnt clean the pool or anything and we were forced to go in it the next day DONT GO HERE!!

I feel the negative reviews listed here are not based in any reality. As the parent of a child whom I must admit is not the easiest to deal with, Coleman was an amazing experience. After a previous disaster (*cough*RollingRiver*cough*) my child had a terrific summer at Coleman. Staff is the best I've seen.

I've gone to this camp for 8 summers and now i am an assistant counselor. the camp is geared toward kids ages 10 and under, although they have groups for kids up to going into 8th grade. there are two daily swim sessions including one instructional swim. the counselors are for the most part amazing with the children and the special events at this camp are so much fun for counselors as well as campers. on the last day of camp, it is so emotional with even the toughest couselors and campers reduced to tears at the thought of leaving such an amazing place, while it may be overpriced, i would recommend this camp

This camp is great for young kids. The counselors in the Scout division made my son's summer fantastic. VERY high grades for the continuous activites and two swims daily.

overated and overcrowded. The kids do nothing but sit around all day. The counselors are entirely to young and inexperienced. Never again.

Over rated, over hyped, over priced. To many children, crowded in one area. Like going to an amusment park on a summer weekend.Better camps around at half the price.

Definitely not worth the money compared to all the other camps around that offer so much more for the same price. The people are nice at Coleman its just not really a camp experience(as it should be).
