Danceversity is a world dance program offering classes in flamenco, belly dance, Indian Bollywood and bhangra, African, Balinese, hula, salsa and others. Kids can explore different styles of dance that are rarely offered in most dance programs. The teachers are fantastic -very skilled in their forms and very supportive- and at the end of the week the kids put on a colorful performance taking parents on a journey around the world. It is a pleasure to see how much they have learned and how inspired they are! This day camp program is for ages 7-teen. I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone interested in dance! The focus on world dance is unique, and I haven't found another program that offers the breadth of material Danceversity does. It is especially important for kids who have been discouraged from dancing because of the high physical expectations ballet places on them because they learn dance can take many forms and are bound to discover a style that works for them. A GEM OF A CAMP!
