If you like Patrol Method camping and eating, the this is your camp. Patrols have a great deal in latitude when planning their activities and their meals. No giant mess hall here. This time you are making your own food from what is provided by the Commissary. Hopefully your Patrol cooks their chicken all the way through and signed up for the Cooking Merit Badge.
Grass Lake (200+ ac) is a big draw for Tapico due to the fact that the BSA owns the entire thing, so no Seadoos. Tapico has a wide array of hydro activities, such as swimming, kayaking, boating, sail boating, and fishing.
My Troop always had a great time whenever we visited Tapico!

I have never been to a better boy scout camp. The staff has the best customer service that I have ever seen. The facilities are up to par except the shower house once in a while because of scouts that like to make everything worse. The activities are some of the best. The staff makes the activities enjoyable. I have seen more then one staff member stay after program hours and miss part of dinner so that one scout can finish a merit badge, they truly know what customer service is. It is a shame that Tapico will not be open for the 2013 summer camp operation.

Excellant Camp program with huge emphasis on customer service. A true wilderness Camp experience.

Excellent camp with a highly knowledgeable staff. I Highly recommend to any mid-west area boy scout troops.
